Violence and disruptions biggest threats

WASHINGTON- U.S. election officials see potential violence and disruptions as the biggest threats to midterm elections in November, with misinformation fueling those concerns, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said on Sunday. Benson, a Democrat, said election officials from both parties are working with law enforcement officials to protect the Nov. 8 elections and make clear there will be consequences for those who try to interfere. "We are, in many ways, even more prepared this year than ever before," she said on CBS's "Face the Nation."

FTA: “The investigation followed breaches of local election systems by Republican officials and activists trying to prove former President Donald Trump's unsupported claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 election.” For those questioning why continue to address the 2020 election vote fraud, every word of this statement is a bald-faced lie. You let these demons set the narrative, it becomes history. In addition, this narrative helps frame any violence that the left commits or instigates is as from the MAGA crowd. These lies must be hit head on, EVERY TIME THEY ARE REPEATED. The only person doing that is President Trump. They are setting the stage for vote fraud, and when Republicans object, they will frame it as violence and insurrection.

Benson certainly has the current Democrat talking points down. She must have coordinated with the Biden team to make sure she echoed Biden"s Thursday night rant. Of course, Benson claims to be fighting disinformation regarding the election while spreading disinformation herself.

They are laying the ground work for dealing with anyone interfering with their cheating. Poll watchers insisting on watching, monitoring of drop box locations, people questioning of or taking videos of illicit actions, like sheading documents, tampering with voting machines, midnight delivery of boxes of ballots etc... will be labeled a threat escorted out and or arrested.

She is a radical lying leftist who obviously is trying to move up in the Democrat party. I've not heard this said by anyone else but I believe Biden's speech the other night was meant to inoculate the Democrats against any charge of cheating in the upcoming elections. Anyone who raises a question about the election results will be accused of being a threat to democracy and a violent semi-fascist who must be driven from society.

How Old Bad Ideas Become Wonderful 1 reply

There is no end of history. Instead, civilization is a constant fight to embrace what has worked for the common good through the ages—and to reject what in the past has failed abysmally. Bad and bankrupt ideas, protocols, and ideologies—like McCarthyism, communism, various cults, or fascism—resurface not because of their intrinsic or lasting value or record of success, but because civilizations become less vigilant and allow human vanities, ignorance, arrogance, and evil to reassert themselves. Joe McCarthy Is Back Our Tail Gunner Joe (of semi-truck driving expertise and brilliant legal training fame) in a single week smeared roughly half the country as un-American “semi-fascists.” Then in one of the creepiest speeches

The number of American jobs outsourced to foreign visa workers each year has exploded in recent decades to more than half a million, federal data suggests. The Immigration Act of 1990, signed by then-President George H.W. Bush, greatly expanded the number of visa programs and created today’s business model where employers import foreign visa workers in droves to take American jobs in blue-collar and white-collar industries. Federal data from the State Department shows that in 2021, almost 550,000 foreign visa workers were allowed to enter the United States labor market to take American jobs. Most of those half a million foreign visa workers, almost 470,000,

We've been hearing an awful lot, even from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) himself, that Republicans taking back control of the Senate isn't as likely to happen, due to "candidate quality." It's worth noting that forecasters still have it as a "Toss-Up," or for Democrats only slightly favored to keep control of the chamber, as many races are tight in key seats. One of them, surprisingly enough, is in Washington state, where Sen. Patty Murray, the Democratic incumbent, is just a few percentage points ahead of her Republican challenger, Tiffany Smiley. This is according to a recent poll from the Trafalgar Group.

It’s hard to pick the most grating member of the January 6th committee. I think for pure hysterical unseriousness, you’d have to go with Adam Kinzinger. He’s so bad that even the other members rarely acknowledge his existence publicly. Of course, Liz Cheney is in the discussion, though she manages to be a bit more cunning in her dissolution of all the principles she claims to hold dear. But as far as the Democrats on the committee go, the choice is easy: Jamie Raskin takes the cake. Raskin obviously learned from Adam Schiff’s behavior during the facial and wasted effort of the Robert Mueller investigation.

The Department of Education seemed to be well aware of the educational failings of government-run schools based on the town hall hosted by the White House last week, but analysis once again indicated trifles such as math and reading were taking a backseat to woke indoctrination. Moderated by Education Secretary Miguel Cardona with guests including National Education Association (NEA) President Becky Pringle and American Federation of Teachers (AFT) President Randi Weingarten, the Ed. Dept. back-to-school town hall only briefly touched on the serious concern of the already steadily declining test scores among nine-year-olds in reading and math taking a sharp nosedive since 2020.

Labor Day was once the most blatantly political US holiday — created by the trade-union movement to celebrate the right of working people to bargain collectively and to stage strikes to press their demands. The Post was an early and vigorous supporter of the movement. As early as 1836, editor William Cullen Bryant wrote: “Strike the right of associating for the sale of labor from the privileges of a freeman, and you may as well at once bind him to a master.” New York hosted the nation’s first Labor Day parade when 10,000 workers marched from City Hall to Union Square.

In President Joe Biden’s 2007 memoir, Promises to Keep: On Life and Politics, he wrote that the late Sen. Mike Mansfield (D-Mont.) gave him the best advice he ever received: “Joe, never attack another man’s motive, because you don’t know his motive.” Judging from Biden’s increasingly belligerent speeches, he has forgotten Mansfield’s eminently wise counsel. This was rendered abundantly clear during his Thursday speech at Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Standing before a backdrop that looked as if it had been designed by Leni Riefenstahl, he attacked the motives of half the electorate.

At a national level there is a unique policy priority that almost every politician, on both sides, will avoid discussing. At a national level a single policy priority determines all other national policy issues. That policy is the national economic policy. The national economic policy of a presidential candidate determines all other national policies that flow from the presidential candidate. The national economic policy impacts the obvious policies like energy and trade, and also determines the lesser obvious policies like regulation and even foreign policy. It is specifically because a candidate’s national economic outlook impacts all other issues, that most national politicians never talk about it.
