Three people were killed when a gunman opened fire at shopping mall in Bend, Oregon, on Sunday evening. The city of Bend is located 175 miles south east of Portland. The incident took place at the Forum Shopping Center. Bend Police Department spokesperson Sheila Miller said that the shooting began close to the Big Lots store in the mall. The gunman then moved on where he killed a person at the door to the Safeway supermarket. Another person was killed at the back of the store, according to Miller.

three people shot, 2 victims.(doesn't even qualify as a 'mass' shooting) They go on to enumerate a whoooooole list of times a particular gun 'type' was used in random mass shootings, going back more than a decade...No mention of the 5 people shot on the Coney Island Boardwalk, for the second time in a little over a month... at the same location. No headline story of the five children aged 13-15 shot at a 'kids night' at a hip-hop strip club in Cincinnati...a club with multiple similar incidents going back years, though involving adults....gunfire nearly every weekend.

Bend used to be a nice quiet little town, the home of Deschutes beer and, oddly enough, Nosler Bullets. It’s been “discovered” by lefties of all stripes who would never think of carrying a firearm for protection. Sorry, Bendies - this is on you.

The Daily Mail blames guns, specifically the AR-15 rifle, for this and all other mass shootings. Apparently the black-clad murderer had little to do with it, and they give few facts about him. Here in Oregon it's leftie Antifa types who are usually "black-clad", and if he was or if he was black or an illegal alien, the story will die.

KYIV, Ukraine— U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken paid an unannounced visit to Kyiv on Thursday as the Biden administration announced major new military aid worth more than $2.8 billion for Ukraine and other European countries threatened by Russia. In meetings with senior Ukrainian officials, including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Blinken said the Biden administration had notified Congress of its intent to provide $2.2 billion in long-term military financing to Ukraine and 18 of its neighbors, including NATO members and regional security partners, that are “potentially at risk of future Russian aggression.” “President (Joe) Biden has been clear we will support the people of Ukraine for as long as it takes,”

There's a growing view inside the mainstream media that Joe Biden's recent legislative victories and his recent speeches that MAGA Republicans are a threat to democracy and are "semi-fascists" are going to give the Democrats some midterm momentum and they're going to overtake the GOP by snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. I'm not buying it and here's why you shouldn't either. First of all, the new legislation is not popular. By 36% to 12%, an Economist-YouGov poll shows that voters believe the IRA legislation will actually increase inflation.

PORTLAND, Maine— Some retailers are taking lobster off the menu after an assessment from an influential conservation group that the seafood poses too much of a risk to rare whales and should be avoided. Whales can suffer injuries and fatalities when they become entangled in the gear that connects to lobster traps on the ocean floor. Seafood Watch, which rates the sustainability of different seafoods, said this week it has added the American and Canadian lobster fisheries to its “red list” of species to avoid. The organization, based at Monterey Bay Aquarium in California, said in a report that the fishing industry is a danger to North Atlantic right whales

Remember Fat Leonard? Who can forget that handle? OK, maybe some folks. After all, he was last in the limelight in early 2015, and the media never paid sufficient attention to his sensational case. This scandal should have gotten its own movie, or at least a Netflix series. It has everything: selling secrets, exotic ports of call, corrupt officials, and lots of partying and sex amid unsubtle hints of espionage. Yet Hollywood lives in an alternate reality where admirals are incorruptible patriots and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service is a competent organization.

The 2016 presidential candidate appeared alongside daughter Chelsea for an interview on “The View” Wednesday to promote their new AppleTV+ show “Gutsy” — and audiences were less than impressed. During the on-air love-in, Clinton, 74, was asked about the recent raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property, with the former first lady saying it was “terrifying” to learn that the ex-president was in possession of documents about a foreign nation’s nuclear capabilities.

Bill Barr, who served as attorney general during the Trump administration, said Wednesday that the Justice Department appears to be “getting very close” to having sufficient evidence to indict former president Trump. Law enforcement is investigating former president Donald Trump for removal or destruction of records, obstruction of an investigation, and violating the Espionage Act, according to the search warrant for Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago. Republicans in the House are preparing to roll out their midterm agenda, which they hope will give voters a reason to vote for them and not just against Democrats. The brainchild of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, the “Commitment to America” will have four parts dealing with the economy, security, education/health care, and government accountability. McCarthy’s office has indicated the Commitment to America will debut in Pittsburgh on September 19. It’s loosely based on the “Contract with American” concept created for the 1994 midterm election that was credited with helping the GOP take over both the House and Senate.

California officials say it will cost $14 billion to upgrade aging wastewater facilities that are dumping nutrients from treated human sewage into San Francisco Bay, which are feeding a giant algae bloom that has lingered for more than two months and killed tens of thousands of fish. The algae bloom, which appeared in late July, has grown to an immense size because of the tons of nutrients from urine and feces of the eight million Bay Area residents that is released into the waters daily—one plant alone dumps 85 million gallons a day that contains 5.5 tons of nitrogen. Scientists say the bloom was triggered by climate change,

NEWNAN, Ga. — Georgia Democrats have grown increasingly pessimistic about Stacey Abrams’s chances of ousting Gov. Public and private polls have consistently shown her trailing Mr. Kemp, a Republican seeking a second term. And, in a particularly worrying sign for Ms. Abrams, polls also show she is drawing less support than the other high-profile Democrat on the ballot, Senator Raphael Warnock, who is seeking a first
