Most people know the University of Alabama for its phenomenally successful football program, but the school has grabbed headlines for a 2021 TikTok trend called #BamaRush. TikTok users who hoped to pledge to a sorority in Tuscaloosa documented their efforts to join. After the school cracked down last year on pledges sharing rush videos online, sorority hopefuls were more low-key this year in their social media posts. As the Daily Mail reports, “It’s believed that the university implemented the veil of privacy after the social media popularity brought a level of scrutiny to the sororities last year, with one unnamed Panhellenic executive admitting to

Comments:

What funniest is that the girls blackballed (or just "balled") him. That's well within their rights as members of a sorority. They are allowed to exclude some who might wish to join.

At most major universities, sorority members live together in a group house, so accepting a tranny as a member is inviting one to live in the house and possibly be a roommate as well. I don't blame them for passing on that opportunity.

If any of them is in any way accepting of government funds, this could get real in a hurry. Civil rights laws are funny things. And here we have a poor young "lady" being blackballed by "trannyphobes" based on their "hate". Funny how these things happen in a liberal world. Expect lawsuits to fly very quickly. Maybe even for the DOJ Civil Rights mavens to sweep into the fray.

I was in a frat after animal house came out. It was as bad as animal house portrayed life in a frat. During pledge week, we’d go upstairs into the ‘sacred chamber’ and heckle about the dorks that came through. It was so bad, we even had a guy assigned to give the ‘coke machine’ tour to the losers. I can’t imagine how bad it was in the sacred chambers of the chi omegas or kappa deltas as they made horrid faces and ‘ewwwing’ notices about this mentally I’ll guy.

Gen. Michael Hayden, the former head of the CIA and NSA, believes that you, dear readers, are more dangerous than ISIS, Communist China, and N. Korea — if you’re a Republican, that is. He said so explicitly in a retweet of a comment from Edward Luce, the blue-check assistant editor of the Financial Times, who wrote, “I’ve covered extremism and violent ideologies around the world over my career. Have never come across a political force more nihilistic, dangerous & contemptible than today’s Republicans. Nothing close.” Nothing close! Suddenly Democrats are feeling more chipper about their prospects for November. Congress passed something! President Biden got to have a signing ceremony at the White House! (You have to understand that for the liberal mind, nothing good can happen in the world without a signing ceremony—it’s the key sacrament of their secular religion.) Some polls show Democrats looking better, especially in key Senate races where Republicans have nominated weak candidates. Bill Galston writes today in the Wall Street Journal about “Hopeful Signs for Democrats in the 2022 Midterms.” "Surprisingly, Democrats remain tied with Republicans in the generic congressional ballot, which reflects national preferences for the parties’ House

In his Letter from Birmingham jail, Martin Luther King Jr. wrote “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” The corollary is, “an injustice to one is an injustice to all”; meaning that society is interconnected such that if one person is wronged, all of us are wronged. Gotta wonder what MLK Jr. would say today about American justice given President Trump and half the country are facing injustices – everywhere. Justice should be blind. Lady Justice is shown holding a scale and wearing a blindfold to represent the impartiality of the law; that regardless of one’s position in life, the scales of justice will be

Describing themselves as “a coalition of gays against the sexualization and indoctrination of children,” Gays Against Groomers was founded earlier this year by Jaimee Michell. A gay woman who describes herself as “based” and “strayed” from woke culture, Michell has compared “gender-affirming” surgery on minors to the works of Nazi butcher Dr. Josef Mengele. From branding parents speaking out against critical race theory and sexual ideology in schools as terrorists to the Mar-a-Lago raid, Attorney General Merrick Garland’s radicalized Justice Department transforms pre-election political opposition into national security threats. The infamous DOJ letter on schools was sent out a month before the gubernatorial election in Virginia, where the National School Board Association, not to mention much of the D.C. establishment, is based. Much as Garland’s DOJ operatives feared, the school protests helped elect Gov. Glenn Younkin and nearly toppled New Jersey’s Democrat governor in the bargain. The Mar-a-Lago raid was carefully timed around the DOJ’s day policy of avoiding politically sensitive moves 90 days

If by rule of law we mean a principle of governance in which legal standards are clear, are duly enforced by public officials, and are validated and maintained by an impartial and timely judicial system, leading to public trust in fair legal consistency and public order, then we can say that today the rule of law no longer applies, or applies only selectively, in a constitutional republic like the U.S. or a parliamentary democracy like Canada. In Canada, the current prime minister has flouted the rule of law and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms so often that the country is now verging on the status of a third-world autocracy.

It’s abundantly clear that former Vice President Mike Pence is going to run for president in 2024. He’s been putting in the leg work lately, with a scheduled trip to New Hampshire coming up. He’s also positioned himself as a Trump foil in the mid-term GOP primaries, taking a contrary position to the former president in several states, most recently in Arizona. For my part, I think Pence’s pursuit is delusional. There is exactly one person in the GOP who would be palatable to Trump voters if Trump himself weren’t the nominee, and his name is Ron DeSantis.

Since the outset of the global monkeypox outbreak in May, public health and infectious disease experts have told the public that the virus is largely transmitting through skin-to-skin contact, in particular during sex between men. Now, however, an expanding cadre of experts has come to believe that sex between men itself — both anal as well as oral intercourse — is likely the main driver of global monkeypox transmission. The skin contact that comes with sex, these experts say, is probably much less of a risk factor.
