You guys, along with your sychophants, are transforming America from Reagan’s City of Light on a Hill into a Third World autocracy. Murderers, rapists and pedophiles get the kid glove treatment while supporters of Donald Trump, who “trespassed” on to the grounds of the U.S. Capitol (the ironically named People’s house), are denied habeus corpus and left to rot in jail. To hell with the rule of law. The United States now is in the grasp of political partisans who use the law and the police to pursue their own special interests and to punish their political opponents.

Police detectives in Beaverton, Oregon, said they've identified the man who orchestrated a $22 million catalytic converter trafficking operation based in Portland and spanning six states since January 2021. A Washington County grand jury indicted 12 people on racketeering, aggravated theft, money laundering and other charges on July 29, police said Thursday.
Oregon detectives began investigating late last year. After searching eight locations, they uncovered last week 3,000 catalytic converters, hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, a vehicle and jewelry, authorities said.

Since the Mar-a-Lago raid, Republican leadership has been bloviating at every opportunity about how they will “investigate” crimes of the Democratic Party and their three-letter agency allies like The Erinyes should the GOP win back Congress, as widely predicted, in November.
Fine.
But investigations mostly end up as just more bloviating accompanied, at best, by useless recommendations for action by a Justice Department that’s as likely to follow them as I am to be writing my next column from Alpha Centauri.

Fourteen FBI whistleblowers have come forward to provide information to Republican congressional investigations, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said Sunday, about a week after the FBI raided former President Donald Trump’s Florida home.
“Fourteen FBI agents have come to our office as whistleblowers, and they are good people,” Jordan told Fox News. “There are lots of good people in the FBI. It’s the top that is the problem.”
“Some of these good agents are coming to us, telling us … what’s going on—the political nature now of the Justice Department … talking about the school board issue, about a whole host of issues,” he added.

So, you accept anything because now Republicanism, conservatism, Trumpism becomes your identity, and so, you’re going to stay.”
He continued, “I’m going to say this as a Christian myself, the pastors, many pastors in this country are failing their congregations.
It’s abundantly clear that former Vice President Mike Pence is going to run for president in 2024. He’s been putting in the leg work lately, with a scheduled trip to New Hampshire coming up. He’s also positioned himself as a Trump foil in the mid-term GOP primaries, taking a contrary position to the former president in several states, most recently in Arizona.
For my part, I think Pence’s pursuit is delusional. There is exactly one person in the GOP who would be palatable to Trump voters if Trump himself weren’t the nominee, and his name is Ron DeSantis.
