the violent crime

Scott Nadeau worried something like this could happen. Two Fridays ago, when his 24-year-old son Jack said he planned to meet friends at the Gay 90s nightclub, Nadeau cautioned him to be vigilant. The retired suburban police chief had seen reports of violence in downtown Minneapolis, and he feared the city's dwindling police staffing levels are exacerbating lawlessness. The next day, Nadeau sat in the emergency room with Jack, who had a fractured skull.(Snip)Some downtown business owners say they worry the brazenness of the crime threatens a much-needed return for the downtown economy, still recovering from pandemic depression.

Comments:

The ruling Liberal population loudly demanded Equity for criminals like Saint George Floyd, and in response, Boy Mayor Jacob demonized and chased off most of the police force. Now crime is out of control wherever people gather, and the locals are concerned.

Minneapolis is not attempting to recover from "pandemic recession". It is failing to recover from liberal anti-police idiocy.

The violent crime EPIDEMIC is mostly the fault of the Democrats. Law abiding citizens are safe only if the Rule of Law is observed and perpetrators can be incarcerated. This is NOT rocket science. Elections have consequences and bought DAs are the plague., Do nothing about this CRIME and you will get MORE.

I saw the video of this. A ''group'' waits outside the gay bar and it's easy pickins' when the place closes down for the night. The assaulted man hit the ground pretty hard and no one dared approach the perpetrator.

At the close of the Mpls Aquatennial festival each summer, they have a spectacular fireworks show sponsored by Target. I used to look forward to driving the 20 miles to get to downtown. Not this year. For one thing, I do not want to support Target with their woke policies and their backing of BLM. Secondly, I did not care to leave my parked car unattended in Mpls while I'm gone for a close-up vantage point to watch the display. I talked to someone later who had gone. He agreed about the crime risk. He took an Uber to the fireworks. Mpls has done this to themselves. Nobody in my family has any desire to go there anymore.

I'll go out on a limb here and guess it's all due to those mischief making Lutheran farmboys. No? Then who could possibly be responsible for all the crime, violence and thuggery? Asking for a friend.

The baby formula shortage will last well into the fall, supply chain experts predict, as the crisis has gotten worse and President Joe Biden's administration is struggling to say how it will prevent another one from taking place. All formula brands are reporting a 30 percent out-of-stock rate—20 percent above the pre-crisis rate—and parents are criticizing the administration for having forgotten about their hungry children. The White House points out Biden has signed into law a bill into that eliminates tariffs on safe imported baby formula and invoked the Defense Production Act to speed up U.S. production.(Snip)Nearly 98% of baby formula is manufactured domestically.

The Biden administration’s attempt to track down catch-and-release illegal immigrants and serve them with court summonses turned into a “complete waste of time,” according to officers who say they were pulled off higher priority cases to chase down “ghosts.” Out of a universe of more than 30,000 potential targets, officers were able to locate and serve only about 600, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement sources. That means tens of thousands of illegal border crossers remain at large in the country without an official Notice to Appear for their immigration proceedings—and there are no good prospects for tracking them down.
