Hunter Biden was involved in a 2018 project by Burisma Holdings to export grain from Ukraine to China, a document from his abandoned laptop shows. The scandal-scarred first son’s signature was among those on a Burisma board resolution dated July 27, 2018 that concerned the “Sino Ukraine Silk Road Grain Port” project. In addition to Hunter, seven other members of Burisma’s board of directors authorized their adviser, Vadym Pozharskyi, to “represent with all Chinese Potential Shareholders for development, negotiation, and contracting issues as well as operation management of the project ‘Sino Ukraine Silk Road Grain Port’.” Former CIA officer Joseph Cofer Black, a fellow Burisma board member,

A federal judge ruled this week that the state of West Virginia must allow transgender patients covered by Medicaid to receive gender transforming surgeries, reasoning that individuals with a gender dysphoria diagnosis must be treated the same as those suffering from other medical conditions. U.S. District Judge Robert Chambers for the Southern District of West Virginia said it was discriminatory for the state to ban such procedures from Medicaid recipients while allowing others who do not have a gender dysphoria diagnosis to get the same surgeries, such as a mastectomy or vaginoplasty.
Under the state’s policy, a woman with a cancer-related diagnosis could have a mastectomy, but a transgender

The OPEC+ oil cartel dealt a blow to President Biden's hopes of increased supply when it voted for just a small increase in production on Wednesday–even after Biden's controversial fist bump with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman last month. The White House refused to condemn the move, even as White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said 'the President has been very clear… that oil supply must meet oil demand.'(Snip)She didn't move off her position even when told the increase in production of 100,000 barrels a day amounted to about 86 seconds of global oil demand, declining to say the White House was pleased with the amount

Nancy Pelosi's husband on Wednesday pleaded not guilty to two counts of driving under the influence, two months after his arrest in Napa County, California. Paul Pelosi, who lives with the Democratic House Speaker in St. Helena, California, did not appear for the arraignment on Wednesday and was instead represented by his lawyer Amanda Bevin during the 10-minute hearing. Twenty-year veteran Judge Monique Langhorne was a last-minute addition to the case, swapped in after being booted from a different trial at the request of the public defender.(Snip)She said: 'I gave Judge Langhorne $100 in 2018. I believe she can be fair and impartial

The White House on Tuesday released a photo of President Joe Biden meeting with his national security team on July 1, where they outlined the operation to take out al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri. In the photo, Biden is seen interacting with CIA Director William Burns, who is sitting to the president's right and wearing a face mask. The meeting took place in the Situation Room at the White House. During the briefing, Biden questioned his team about the proposed operation and examined a model that was constructed of the safe house in Kabul where al-Zawahiri was hiding. Several cops were punched and pelted with glass bottles by a rowdy gaggle of men in the Bronx following the borough’s Dominican Day parade Sunday. A group of young men began throwing punches and then bottles at the officers in a chaotic scene caught on video as the cops attempted to detain a man for possession of a firearm.
The unruly men were reportedly drinking on the street, blasting loud music and blocking traffic at the intersection of 168th Street and Sheridan Avenue, near the route of the Dominican Day parade which ended shortly before the out-of-control incident, police sources said.(Snip)“Yo, back up! The baby formula shortage will last well into the fall, supply chain experts predict, as the crisis has gotten worse and President Joe Biden's administration is struggling to say how it will prevent another one from taking place. All formula brands are reporting a 30 percent out-of-stock rate—20 percent above the pre-crisis rate—and parents are criticizing the administration for having forgotten about their hungry children. The White House points out Biden has signed into law a bill into that eliminates tariffs on safe imported baby formula and invoked the Defense Production Act to speed up U.S. production.(Snip)Nearly 98% of baby formula is manufactured domestically.

A “slow and bureaucratic” response that has seen monkeypox spread rapidly across the US–with more than a thousand cases in New York City alone–reveals just how badly battered local health agencies have been since the Covid pandemic, advocates have said. Once a rare African virus, monkeypox has taken hold amid the ragged patchwork of city, county, state and federal agencies that make up the US public health infrastructure. “Unfortunately, delayed actions mean monkeypox has spread within the gay community and among other men who have sex with men,” said David Harvey, executive director of the National Coalition of STD Directors.(Snip)“The system is tired, it’s overworked, it’s underpaid,
