The Department of Justice has begun investigating former President Donald Trump as part of a criminal probe surrounding January 6th and his attempt to “overturn the election.” According to the Washington Examiner, questions are being asked about what Trump said in meetings around the time, including what he may have told others to do in regards to stopping the certification of the election results. One specific line of inquiry entails the so-called “false electors” scheme members of the press have been going nuts over.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ignored cries of anger and desperation from farmers and provincial officials last weekend by pressing ahead with a climate change agenda that will dramatically reduce Canada’s use of fertilizer — the same ruinous strategy that drove Dutch farmers into revolt and destroyed the agriculture of Sri Lanka.
The Toronto Sun reported on a dismaying Friday meeting of federal and provincial ministers, in which the latter could not convince the Trudeau administration to show any “flexibility” in its emissions targets, not even with a global food crisis on the horizon:

Washington, District of Columbia — Former Vice President Mike Pence outlined his “freedom agenda” Tuesday morning, citing the late Andrew Breitbart in his vision to restore American culture.
“Politics is downstream of culture,” Pence said, quoting Breitbart. “The American people are proud of our culture.” “American freedom is under attack,” he said, “big tech, big media, big government, even big business.” The left is pushing a “pernicious woke agenda designed to … destroy the American dream,” he continued, saying that the “the ruling elite has never been more out of touch” but also “never more intent on imposing their agenda.”

Is Joe Biden’s staff trying to sabotage him? Probably not, but man have some bad decisions been made lately as far as his public appearances go. Don’t get me wrong, there’s never really a good time to have Biden out in front of people, but the rush to push out recordings of him after he contracted COVID-19 has led to some really uncomfortable scenes. Almost immediately, the White House released a picture that left nothing but questions. Biden then did a live stream (which cut off suddenly) in which he looked like he was about keel over. Then, on Monday, the president’s comms team put together a clip of him ranting

The NCAA announced its conference selections for the 2022 Woman of the Year award on Monday, naming Columbia University fencer Sylvie Binder as The Ivy League pick, over national champion and University of Pennsylvania transgender swimmer Lia Thomas.
Binder, a senior from Armonk, New York, was among the 577 overall students nominated for this honor earlier this month and was one of the eight athletes nominated from The Ivy League conference. An NCAA Women’s Foil Champion in 2019, she placed fifth at The Ivy League championships this season, second at the Northeast Regional, and third at the NCAA Championships with an overall record of 17-6. She was also named

Returning to Washington, D.C., for the first time since leaving office, former president Trump delivered a speech at the America First Policy Institute on Tuesday in which he accused the Democratic party of abdicating its responsibility to preserve law and order and promised that Republicans would pursue a laundry list of “brutally tough” solutions to crack-down on the “insanity” taking root in America’s cities.
“Our country is going to hell,” Trump declared. Under Democratic leadership, the nation has deteriorated into a “cesspool of crime…blood, death and destruction,” where the “streets are covered in needles and soaked with the blood of innocent people,” he said.

More than 3,800 monkeypox cases have been reported in the US, the most of any country around the globe, government health data shows.
The rising number of cases has reportedly prompted the Biden administration to mull declaring a national health emergency.
The virus has already been classified as a global health emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO).
To date, more than 18,000 cases have been reported in 75 countries. According to data published online by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of 25 July there were 3,846 confirmed or suspected monkeypox cases in the US.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said that if he could change anything about his response to the coronavirus pandemic, he would have recommended that the government impose “much, much more stringent restrictions” during the spring of 2020.
On Monday’s edition of Rising, Fauci told hosts Robby Soave and Batya Ungar-Sargon that if he “knew in 2020 what I know now, we would do a lot differently.”
“The insidious nature of spread in the community would have been much more of an alarm, and there would have been much, much more stringent restrictions in the sense of very, very heavy

U.S. consumer confidence declined in July for the third consecutive month, dropping 2.7 points since June and reaching the lowest level recorded since February 2021.
The Conference Board Consumer Price Index, which reflects consumer’s business expectations for future months, stands at 95.7 points, down from last month’s 98.4.
The Present Situation Index, showing the current business expectations of consumers, fell to 141.3 from 147.2 in June. The Expectations Index, which predicts the shot term business expectations, also fell, going down to 65.3 compared to 65.8 last month. “The decrease was driven primarily by a decline in the Present Situation Index—a sign growth has slowed

You may have seen poll after poll showing that Joe Biden’s approval numbers are in the dumper right now. The generic ballot is looking strong for the Republicans and it looks like the red wave is coming. If you live in Biden’s America, you even know why the polls are so bad for Biden and the Democrats: because of the inflation, the high gas prices, the incompetence, and the lies on so many issues. Indeed, Biden’s latest effort is to redefine the meaning of recession, because if he redefines it, that means that you won’t be feeling it and blame him, right? But so far, even CNN isn’t buying that scam

Walmart issued a profit warning Monday, cautioning that its second-quarter operating income would be lower than expected and would show a decline of about 13 percent. The announcement quickly caused other major US retailers’ stocks to plunge, wiping out over $100 billion in stock market value in after-hours trading. (Investopedia explains how after-hours trading works here.) Per Reuters:
Walmart’s stock tumbled over 9% in extended trade, and other big retailers also sold off. Target (TGT.N)fell over 5% and Amazon (AMZN.O) was down about 4%. Meanwhile Costco Wholesale Corp (COST.O), Best Buy (BBY.N), Dollar General (DG.N) and Dollar Tree (DLTR.O) each declined more than 3%. Home Depot (HD.N) fell almost 2%.

Republican officials in the House and Senate ripped into the Biden administration after it attempted to redefine what constitutes a recession while concerns mount about a significant decline in economic activity this year.
On Thursday, ahead of a potentially negative GDP report expected later this week — the annualized economic growth rate shrank by 1.6% in the first quarter of this year and appears to have contracted even more in the second — a White House blog post attempted to redefine the term “recession.” “While some maintain that two consecutive quarters of falling real GDP constitute a recession, that is neither the official definition nor the way economists evaluate the state of the business cycle,”
