Voters say ‘No’ to 2024 retreads,

Voters are showing an eagerness to junk old slates of presidential candidates and entertain a new cast of hopefuls, opening the door to fresh faces eyeing the 2024 race, including Govs. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). Missing in new polling is a desire for past nominees, such as 2016 Democratic pick Hillary Clinton or 2012 GOP candidate Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT). The latest Rasmussen Reports survey, out today, shows that even those who almost won their party’s nomination are getting the cold shoulder, including Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT). Rasmussen asked if Clinton, Romney, Cruz, or Sanders should run again. The results:

Hillary, yes. People have been saying "no" to her since she was the first lady to the first black president, Monica's boyfriend and under-desk play pal. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-umber Than a Rock) is a media pipe dream that even the democrats will reject. Attemps to paint Donald Trump as an also-run will soon be disproven by a series of rallies that will again overflow stadiums. DeSantis is a good man but he ain't no Donald Trump.

The question isn't whether FPDT is popular, but whether he will run and win. If the GOPe picks up 25-70 House seats, and a dozen Senate, it will be interesting to watch those dynamics playing into '24. Lurking in the background, particularly for the conspiracy theorists, is the Dems/UNIPARTY fixing the election again. Those Dominion machines are still in use. And now the bad guys are that much smarter in covering their tracks. The bottom line is that FPDT will eventually be defeated, whether by legal entanglements (indictment), election shenenigans ('20 redux), or impeachment (depending on the size of the GOP House majority, assuming one). Whoever fixed the '20 selection is not going to let that investment go down the drain. And don't discount the possible effect of Ivana's unexpected death on a 76-year-old man. Two years is an eternity in politics.

Kipling comes to mind. Nagaina (not her husband Nag) was always the problem. Despite his venom, Nag wasn't the real problem. His wife Nagaina was. She was the real killer. Rudyard Kipling was prescient.

She’s all washed up — and it’s a heartbreak for the city. Beware of false assurances from city officials, scrambling to save face — I don’t expect the Central Park Boathouse to come back to life any time soon after the restaurant shuts its doors in October. “It is our intention to engage a future operator as soon as possible,” Parks Department officials said on Friday, after current manager Dean J. Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, a Republican, said this week that cities that do not enforce the state’s pro-life abortion laws will have their funding withheld. Landry’s announcement came as a judge blocked the state’s abortion trigger law once again. The law, as Townhall covered, bans most abortions. The law has been blocked before as abortion providers and advocates challenge it in court. Gov. John Bel Edwards, who is a pro-life Democrat, supports the legislation. If the law goes back into effect, officials in New Orleans have said they will not enforce it.

The administration’s guidance effectively forced states to allow biological males to use girls restrooms, forbade states from barring males from participating in female sports, and forced employers
