New York Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul's campaign sent an email about upcoming campaign events being held by Lee Zeldin, her Republican challenger in the New York gubernatorial race, prior to a man's attempted attack on him while he was speaking Thursday evening. Prior to the Zeldin campaign event, Hochul's campaign sent out a media advisory, titled "'Big Lie' Lee kicks off statewide 'MAGA Republican' bus tour," to subscribers of its email list. That email, according to NY1 reporter Zack Fink, contained information pertaining to Zeldin's upcoming campaign events, including the dates and times the events were scheduled to begin.

Hochul must be crooked because her intellect certainly doesn't impress. Anything to take the spotlight away from the Republicans' message.

In today's day of triggered people, the campaign should KNOW there is a strong chance someone might act in this type of manner. Can you imagine if a similar act happened to her, and the Zeldin campaign sent out a similar "media" blast? How do you think it would be portrayed by her fellow Democrats and the media? Do you think that individual would have been released on their own recognisance too?

For about 70 years, the definition of a recession has been simple: Two straight quarters of negative GDP growth. Everyone who has taken an Economics 101 class was taught the same thing, and until recently, there has been no argument on the matter. In fact, the only time in modern history where two-straight quarters of negative growth didn’t define a recession was at the beginning of George W. Bush’s term. In that case, a single quarter of negative growth was used as the deciding point. (Tweet)

he Federal Reserve will release its newest policy statement on Wednesday afternoon, and is expected to hike its key interest rate by three-quarters of a percentage point to battle high inflation. As economic growth sputters, the central bank is caught in an awkward dance as it attempts to tamp down inflation with higher rates without tipping the country into a recession. Markets will be carefully watching Fed Chair Jerome Powell's press conference at 2.30pm for signs of how aggressive the central bank is prepared to move against inflation at its next meeting in September.

U.S. officials today said they have little fear that China could attack Nancy Pelosi's plane if she flies to Taiwan as Beijing doubled down on their threat to take 'firm and strong measures' if the House speaker visits the island. If Pelosi does travel to Taiwan, which is still an uncertainty, the U.S. military would increase its movement of forces and assets in the Indo-Pacific region, officials said. The officials declined to provide details of their plans, but said that fighter jets, ships, surveillance assets and other military systems would likely be used to provide overlapping rings of protection for her flight to Taiwan

The Biden administration’s drive to link the provision of federal school lunch money to compliance with gender identity ideology was challenged Tuesday by 22 states saying they would take the matter to court. As Breitbart News reported, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) last month announced in order for schools to receive funds for student lunches, breakfasts, and other food items, they must comply with its interpretation of the ban on discrimination based on sex in Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and other food-related programs, which includes sexual orientation and gender identity.

Today in the 21st century, American citizenship and its one-of-a-kind written contract with the central government, the Constitution with its Bill of Rights, is under relentless assault by the nation’s governing establishment and teetering on the edge of meaninglessness. WASHINGTON, District of Columbia — Former President Donald Trump dedicated most of his keynote address at AFPI’s America First Agenda Summit on Tuesday to crime, one of the main issues facing Americans across the country. During his speech, Trump said public safety is one of the “core issues” facing the country. “There is no higher priority than cleaning up our streets, controlling our borders, stopping the drugs from pouring in, and quickly restoring law and order,” he said. “In the Democrat rule, in Democrat-run cities, Democrat-run states, and a Democrat-run federal government, the criminals have been given free rein more than ever before,” the former president said.

Yes, it is important for President Trump to have a well-credentialed stable of policy experts capable of both building a 2024 platform and finding solid MAGA talent to populate a new Trump Administration. But the AFPI Trojan Horse—whose leadership is now bragging about how it will staff Trump’s “shadow cabinet”—is decidedly not that.

I recently wrote a column about why I believed Trump should not run in 2024. I was wrong. I allowed my distaste for Trump’s personality to override his virtues, which are considerable. Some people want Trump without his vices. I was among them -- until yesterday, when I watched and listened to Tom Klingenstein’s speech titled “Trump’s virtues.” It was masterful and shamed me that I did not make the distinction between Trump's character and his virtues, the former being deeply flawed, the latter being almost perfect. I need to man up in my defense of the former President's virtues.
