NDIANAPOLIS — At least three people are dead and two others have been injured after a shooting at the Greenwood Park Mall food court on Sunday at 6:05 p.m. According to Greenwood Police Chief James Ison two people have been transported from the scene to Eskenazi Hospital. In a pressing brief at 8 p.m., Ison said the shooter was killed after a good Samaritan witnessed the shooting and returned fire. The Samaritan is cooperating with officials.

Comments:

An ongoing story. I want to point out that while I am listening on scanner. A concealed weapon stopped this from being much worse.

Good thing this didn't happen in Alvin Bragg's New York, or the good Samaritan would be behind bars charged with first degree murder.

Article doesn’t say if it’s a gangs shooting each other or one lone crazed wolf. Being Little Chi, it’s 50/50. I was at the mall in Lafayette IN yesterday and stayed vigilant the entire time. Hubs thinks I’m paranoid but here we are the next day.

Can't find anything on their website but malls usually have this warning: "No firearms or illegal weapons" So the guy/girl PROBABLY was armed in a gun free zone.

I am from Greenwood, IN and have been in that mall a million times. I haven't been in many years as I am older and the need to roam the mall is no longer on my radar. This is so sad and like everyone says, "I never thought it would happen here". We still do not have much info and I will be interested in whom the shooter was. Thank God that person was carrying and knew what to do. How awful for the four (they just announced four people were killed) who were killed and their family and friends that loved them. I assume since a good guy with a gun took out a bad guy with a gun this story will not appear in print or television on any liberal media network. If that armed man did not carry there would have been dozens killed. If you can carry a gun legally do it.

#8/11 tapped on the salient point. I am glad there was someone to stop this. From the other dead I doubt the armed citizen was the target or he would have been nailed first. BUT, I don't know. That is why they investigate these things. I am looking forward to a motive. My dark self wonders if this isn't a gun control red flag. I hope that is a bridge too far. Probably a "He /she got fired and it was time to get even" . Race WILL play a role here. When it turns out to be a bLACK perp, this story will be buried, even by the local news sources. I had to wait over 1 hr before there was any news mention in a post able source. I do want to mention that I know for a fact that INDIANAPOLIS appeared in the preview. How the leading I got dropped is a mystery. However the comment after is my fault. I changed thought half way through.
