Rush Limbaugh's widow Kathryn has quietly put their palatial, Versailles-style Palm Beach mansion on the market for $175million - after snapping up the property for just $4million in the 1990s - even as experts warn it may so dated it could be just torn down by its new owners.
The conservative radio legend, who died in February 2021, snapped up the 24,000-square-foot main house on Palm Beach's North Ocean Boulevard for $3.9 million in 1998, and has since bought up four neighboring properties to build a 2.7-acre estate, with an asking price of between $150 million and $175 million.

I have a feeling that ol' El Rushbo is talking with God about getting that noon to 3 pm slot on Heavenly Radio. We've given him so much material here since he left us.

None of us saw the disaster coming to this country. Rush did. Then he got cancer and died. Just sayin'......

Nice digs, but nothing compared to the mansion he's enjoying now!

Wow, the Mail wants everyone to know about that possibility. If I were fortunate enough to sell my $4M investment for $175M the new owner could blow it up.

I too miss Rush every day. I never imagined I could grieve a person I never met the way I do Rush. We were "together" for three hours a day, every day for 30 years. I really think that I had more quality time with Rush than I had had in 47 years with my husband.
I apply all I learned at EIB to this day. Can you imagine his take on Biden and his Star Wars bar scene administration? (Especially the DOE bald kid in the dress and heels who loves to "Puppy Play)

Probably purchased by a rich liberal just so he could bull doze it. Take more than that to erase Rush!

Dittos, #1 and #9. The one thing that softens the loss is knowing that Rush is enjoying every blessing that God has to offer.
About 5-6 years ago Rush started talking about how the left wanted to eliminate elections altogether. And look where we are now.

To tear down a home like that because it is "dated" is nuts. We have to know the Limbaugh's kept it in excellent repair.
Was surprised to learn Rush was only worth $600 million, but then he gave generously to many persons and causes. Not a criticism but any means, just an observation.

The worst part of being an arbitrator is the travel. Some cases were located in large cities, where I could fly to get there, but most of my cases were in small towns and rural areas, mostly in a seven state area including Pa, Ohio, NY, WV, Kentucky, NY and Indiana. (I once arbitrated a case in Possum Trot, Kentucky!)
So I spent untold hours, driving, and listening to Rush was a way to keep my sanity. And I could find him on my car radio no matter where I was driving. He was my anchor, in a way.
I really miss him. He would be having a huge amount of fun analyzing the craziness in the Biden administration, something the media seems afraid to do. (The Washington Post list of 10 possible dimocrat candidates for the presidency in 2024 omits the craziness entirely.)

I miss him every day. Especially if I'm in the car at noon and I still want to tune him in. I wish they would get someone to fill that 3 hour spot (Dana Lash just doesn't do it for me). Someone like Buck Sexton or someone who used to fill in for Rush when he was on vacation. We especially need someone like that with the mid=terms coming up and then the 2024 election. Rush has big Shoes to fill!!

Someone ought to buy it and turn it into a museum, for conservatives...no liberal allowed to cross the threshold...

Rush earned every cent he made. The house and the properties around the home were purchased, which makes the house more valuable. Rush made his money honestly Not like the congress critters that go into washington owning nothing and coming out of congress gazzlionaires. Rush had a blessed gift from God. And admitted the gift was from God. I think Rush was very grateful for his gift. I miss his humor and wisdom!

I too miss Rush. More than I am able to convey. I'm sorry but I'm not warming up to his replacement ( not that I expected the possibility that he would EVER be replaced ). But I don't expect to ever warm up to his current replacement who is just a bit too wound up with himself and his 'humor'. The guy is a walking poster for A.D.D..
There were so many guest hosts ,over the years, that could have pulled it off. Oh well, there's no torture in listening to music during the afternoons.......

I wouldn't tear that down -- aesthetically, it's truly beautiful. Maybe the interiors are vulgar, but after the reporter described it as 'Versailles' I would be inclined not to believe that, either. It's genuinely tasteful and gorgeous and I'd gladly live in it on its current design.

I bet if someone started a broadcast, on Sirius or whatever, that played Rush's archived shows from the beginning, there would be lots of listeners. I know, not current, not topical....but pure Rush. Every time I hear Mannheim Steamroller Christmas music, I always think back to how Rush loved to play them. Shanklin's parodies, some great callers, famous and unknown. It would be wonderful. Plenty of radio bandwidth out there.

This is none of our business. Assets are bought and sold every day, especially those that are no longer of use to the owner or too costly to maintain. What the buyer does with them is the buyer’s business.

Do you thin some liberal will buy the property to tear it down with the mindset that they are eliminating Rush?
FYI
James Golden (Bo Snerdley) has a radio show in NYC. WABC radio M-F 3-4PM and 7-10AM on Saturdays. His book about Rush is wonderful.
Ken Matthews has a 3 hour radio show also. It's syndicated.

Fine if someone tears it down. It's just a building. Pay $175 million, and you can do what you want.
Rush was a great man, gave us all a LOT. And I agree with #1, very much.
