House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul bought up to $5 million in stock of a computer chip company ahead of a vote on a bill next week that would hand billions in subsidies to boost chip manufacturing, a financial disclosure shows. Paul Pelosi purchased 20,000 shares of Nvidia, one of the world’s largest semiconductor companies, on June 17, according to the speaker’s disclosure report released Thursday. Now, senators will convene as early as Tuesday to vote on a bipartisan competition bill, which allocates $52 billion to boost domestic semiconductor manufacturing and gives tax credits for production, Reuters reported Thursday. “It certainly raises the specter that Paul Pelosi could have access

FTA - "“It certainly raises the specter that Paul Pelosi could have access to some insider legislative information,” Craig Holman, a government affairs lobbyist for the left-wing think tank Public Citizen, told the Daily Caller News Foundation." The best way to connect the dots here is to determine which members of congress, including Nanie of course, have or will receive campaign donations from Nvidia and which members of congress voted or will "yes" on the $52 billion bill. Checking the call and texting history on their cell phones and emails for evidence of contact with Nvidia would also work. Short of all this, Pelousy will probably skate despite the bad optics.

After George W. Bush was elected in 2004, Nancy Pelosi ran with the theme of "drain the swamp" and people bought into her mantra. Well given now, how little we knew about the Bushes and the Cheneys, they may have been part of an even bigger swamp. Unfortunately, it seems that if a person gets voted into Congress, there are some where their swamp gets bigger. Instead of being humbled, they become arrogant and elitist. That is how I view Nancy and Paul Pelosi. They have a pretty big swamp and only believe that other people's swamps need to be drained. Not theirs.

Moreover, semiconductors are not manufactured here because federal government regulations (environmental, capricious safety inspections, etc), along with highly inflated costs for energy, employee health insurance, taxes, and other inputs makes it impossible to do so at a profit. Instead of addressing these "root causes" by closing various agencies and getting out of the way so producers can produce, the US Congress simply steals more taxpayer money to mask a problem that they created. A deeper reason why we don't manufacture critical items domestically is that the communists decided years ago to deindustrialize the USA so we could not be self-sufficient; spending us into fiscal collapse is just icing on the cake to them.

If anyone else outside of Congress did that, chances are they would be prosecuted and be put in prison, especially if they are a Republican.

Most Democrats at least somewhat believe the U.S. and its institutions are “systemically sexist in favor of men,” as well as racist, a Heartland/Rasmussen Reports survey released this week found. Most Americans, 58 percent, said they are “very proud” to be an American – a sentiment held by 74 percent of Republicans, 55 percent of independents, and 44 percent of Democrats. Democrats appear to be the least proud among the groups, as 29 percent said they are either not very or not at all proud. Just 8 percent of Republicans and 17 percent of independents said the same.

Spectacular and groundbreaking snapshots of the early cosmos gripped the world earlier this week when NASA released the first images from its new super space telescope. James Webb captured an unprecedented look at a 'stellar nursery', a dying star cloaked by dust and a 'cosmic dance' between a group of galaxies, along with hints of water vapor in the atmosphere of a remote exoplanet. What is even more exciting, however, is that astronomers say this is just 'the tip of the iceberg'. It is hoped the $10 billion (£7.4 billion) telescope will also observe the very first stars to shine, detect habitable planets in far-away galaxies and peer back in time
