The GOP’s Site Selection Committee chose Milwaukee to host the 2024 Republican National Convention in a recommendation to the Party on Friday.
The committee’s selection will now go to a vote for final approval during the Party’s August meeting in Chicago, according to Politico.
“Today, the Site Selection Committee voted to recommend Milwaukee to host the 2024 Republican National Convention and it is a testament to the forthright and professional behavior embraced by Milwaukee’s city leaders throughout the process,” RNC Senior Adviser Richard Walters said.

Maybe an armed convention? If not perhaps an alternate venue in a red state.

Unless they cut a special contract with the city and Wisconsin, they really, really, should have picked a city that would enforce the law against violent riots. Not sure where that would be, but pretty sure it is not Milwaukee.

Why? Because Nashville's liberal mayor and city council threw a hissy fit and wouldn't allow it to come to a vote before the clock ran out, and the site committee had to make a decision. These good for nothing sobs just threw a guaranteed $200 million away because they're mad about the Dobbs decision. I love Tennessee, but I hate what's happening to Nashville/Davidson County. This is akin to what Abrams did to Atlanta by forcing the all-star game to go elsewhere.

Why not hold it in a city that doesn't hate Republicans (and the Constitution) ???

this is such a boneheaded decision I fail to see the sense in it. why not Little Mogadishu in Minnesota or Seattle in Washington State or Los Angeles in California or Albuquerque in New Mexico or some other city where the natives are sure to disrupt and demean the whole thing. How Stupid Can Some People Be?

The RNC is and always has been a real problem and the reason the GOP fails miserably so many times...Milwaukee gimme a break! I guess they're after the union vote...never gonna happen, the parasites are owned by Dems!

The state party is glued together by assembly speaker Robin Vos, a political hack, Paul Ryan type never Trumper, former head of national association of state legislators, which is heavily influenced by Karl Rove. Vos has yet to concede that the 2020 vote was illegitimate, slow walked any investigations about voting improprieties andhas done little to prevent 2024 from being another Wisconsin debacle.

Just goes to show ya how dumb the GOP committee is! Pick a DEMOCRAT city where riots are the norm. Yep! That's where the REPUBLICAN Convention should be! Maybe they could have picked somewhere in Florida or a city in one of the other REPUBLICAN States where it's SAFE for those going to the Convention to be out without getting shot!

Of all the states and cities to choose from they pick Milwaukee. With another stupid decision on their part makes me glad I left to become and independent.

Many dimocrats, I suspect, believe their only chance of victory in 2024 is through riots, much like 2020.
The republicans, by selecting a city like Milwaukee, are playing into the hands of the dimocrats.
The stupid party? Indeed.

Cmon guys. Wisconsin is a winnable state. The Dems left them holding the bag by holding a virtual convention in 20. Heck, even Joe didn't show up.
