During an interview aired on Friday’s edition of CNN’s “Situation Room,” Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir, who was inside President Joe Biden’s meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, refused to commit to boosting oil production, denied Biden pressed them on the issue, and argued that “The problem of gasoline in the United States is more a function of the lack of refining capacity in the United States than a shortage of actual crude oil.”
Host Wolf Blitzer asked, “Did President Biden ask you, Saudi Arabia, to increase oil production with the hope that it would reduce the price of gasoline in the United States?”

Compliments to Lucianne staff on finding some outstanding cartoons during the past week. It helps to have a laugh before we dive into the flood of bad news.
The Saudi Minister is correct, a little more oil will not alleviate the damage that the incompetents in the White House have inflicted on this country. None of them seem to realize that all of their actions are interrelated and result in unforseen problems that are now affecting everybody. The fantasy of the green vision will be destroyed along with everything else so, in the end, nobody wins. The stressed economy affects all working people, all retired people and our many leftist parasites and will continue to get worse until there is massive violent resistance. Joe made a complete jackass of himself in the Middle East and insulted friends and enemies alike. Please get this bum out of office before the national reactor melts down beyond the point of reversal.

Biden is so ignorant of oil and gas production that he thinks a country merely has to open a valve to get more production. That will provide a limited increase, but not enough to impact the supplies in Europe and the United States, which are rather large areas, with large populations. Biden could have asked Canada, but they need a pipeline to send it to the U.S., and Biden won't allow that. Biden could have asked Mexico, who say they are willing to provide more, but that would require building a pipeline, as otherwise, it will be by truck. Exxon has a new discovery off Guinea, but production and delivery to the U.S. would take up to 5 years. Then, there is oil and gas in the Permian Basin of Texas that could be produced now, but Biden has used the EPA to cap production there, and won't allow production anywhere else. As a result, supply in the U.S. is limited, and electricity is also limited, as the generators are powered by wind 15% to 0%, depending on the wind, which produces less than half the time, leaving 90% of electric production in the state of Texas dependent on natural gas. Electric vehicles will require substantially more electricity, and 100% of the car itself is manufactured using fossil fuels, and the plastics and battery is made from fossil fuels---nutjob Biden. Everything manufactured is done 95-100% by or from fossil fuels, including the package wrappings in which it is sold. The entirety of farm production is by fossil fuels. We don't use mules and horses any longer, and in any case, that supported a population of 10 million back a couple of centuries, but would hardly support 330 million Americans, and another 40 million illegal invaders.

Despicable Joe didn't "pressure" the Saudis to pump more oil - - but Despicable Joe did "pressure" the Saudis to help us build more windmills.
Saudi workers will soon be arriving - - to create a massive windmill corridor - - between Schenectady, NY and Steubenville, OH. The project is shovel ready.

All of this is smoke and mirrors so it will look to the soccer moms like TaliBiden and cabal are trying to do something about the gas prices. They’re not. They know full well how to solve the problem but they will never give up their green (socialist) agenda in order to do it.

The plan has always been to take prices to the $10/gallon range and keep them there. They havee NO intention of ever bringing them down. This is being carefully hidden till the elections.

I remember when we were energy independent and no longer at the mercy of the Saudis. It was right before Biden took office.

Well said, #2.
Dementia Jo has never understood, or studied Economics.
Janet Yellen studied Economics but apparently didn't understand it any better than the lipsticked Puerto Rican NYC congresswoman did.
Our country is being led by a collection of dunces, as it never has been led before. Jimmy Carter, in his own way, was an intelligent dunce.
But he was not an America hater. Nor were his associates.

He's right. The US needs to go back to producing so much oil that it drives down prices to a $1 a barrel, and the Saudia's can go back to a modest Nomadic lifestyle.

#7 you are correct. What ever his handlers tell him, he will believe. Jill should be prosecuted for elder abuse and the destruction of this nation. She is the ring leader.

I believe the Biden regime is happy with high inflation, food shortages and high gas prices. They don't want OPEC to increase production, but they do want to blame Saudi Arabia and Russia for the high prices because they don't want to take the blame for succeeding in forcing these problems onto us.

The biden cabal in the White House...to include Obama and soros...are desperate to bring down the price at the pump because they know Americans get angrier each time they go to the pump and spend their kid's milk money...but...not desperate enough to open the pipelines in America...YET....wait for it folks...it's coming at some point...

A 14,000+ mile round trip from an oil rich country to another oil rich country in order to beg the Saudis to produce more of what Biden wants to put an end to here. In a fuel guzzling 747 plus an enormous Air Force C-17 for the Beast limo and 6 to 10 GM SUVs for the Secret Service. Plus the flights taken to/from Israel and Saudi Arabia by security advance teams. All so that Biden can be shown on our local TV stations as “doing something” for Americans who are being made energy poor by his truly mad policies.
Perhaps the brain stabilizing drugs that Tucker Carlson revealed that Biden takes in order to combat his dementia can be given to all Americans. Would allow us to accept living in Biden in Wonderland country.

The Saudis take the long view. They have enough oil to keep them fat and rich for at least 200 more years. Why rush to pump it out?

In re: #19, we've been lagging in refinery capacity for decades now. What has made it worse of late is many are required now to convert to biofuels.
Hard to get a new one permitted without.
