Ted Cruz tears into Sesame Street for

Sen. Ted Cruz's war on Sesame Street resumed Tuesday after the Texas Republican saw that the fictional muppet Elmo had been vaccinated against COVID-19. 'Thanks, @sesamestreet for saying parents are allowed to have questions! You then have @elmo aggressively advocate for vaccinating children UNDER 5,' Cruz tweeted. 'But you cite ZERO scientific evidence for this.' Elmo, who's been a Sesame Street character for decades, is only age 3. The Sesame Street Twitter account posted a video earlier Tuesday that encouraged parents to talk to their pediatricians if they had concerns about vaccinating young children, as those shots became available earlier this month.

Comments:

Imagine where we'd be without our bold Republican warriors. They say Big Bird's been talking tough lately too; maybe he's next in line for a brutal takedown.

Don't expect any PBS program which receives taxpayer money from the government, to deviate from Biden's policies. Biden's COVID policies are based on "We Don't NEED No Stinkin' Science." Why does Sesame Street need ANY taxpayer money?

Beelzebub is a smart one. He uses people to create good wholesome entertainment to reel us all in and then makes the switch to radical liberal indoctrination. Sesame Street and Disney are good examples of this. Republicans, this is your cue to start demanding PBS being defunded. Let that percolate in their little pea brains and see if they have the sense to understand that there is a good possibility that democrats are very close to being shut out in the political arena. November is coming up soon, just sayin’.

On Truth Social this morning, Jack Posobiec posted a picture which looks like a typical cable news feed and shows a picture of Elmo. The chyron below it reads “Elmo Dies Unexpectedly” and below that “Thankfully, he was vaccinated. Sources say, “It could have been worse.” I have a theory about Sesame Street being to blame for ADD and ADHD. Those things never existed before SS. That show “taught” in 1-2 minute entertaining little skits and kids got used to that form of learning. Then they went off to first grade and were expected to sit still, behave and listen to a teacher, who was decidedly NOT entertaining, for 45 minutes to an hour several times a day. And the school authorities wondered why they had behavioral problems and fidgeting kids. I may be totally off the wall, but doesn’t it make sense?

Re #12, you are onto something there. Good catch. A friend has created many TV shows, has won an Emmy, in fact for one show. He says that today doing a children's show the film editors are unwilling to go longer than a very few seconds before a "cut" to a different view, or whatever. I forget the correct number, but it is like 3-4 seconds, IIRC. He says that a longer "cut" is considered by "the experts" to cause children's attention to wander, the "cut" is presenting a "new thing", a change, and it subconsciously required the children to notice it and refocus their attention on it. When children are the intended audience, extremely short cuts is the norm, to keep them riveted to the tube. IMO, this wrecks their ability to focus for longer periods and keep their attention on anything more than a few seconds. For example, a book. Thus ADD, etc. My Emmy winning friend agrees that this isn't good, and has pushed back against his video editors on this on his productions. Personally, watching children's shows drives me crazy because of these super short cuts. Watch any children's show, now that you know, and you'll see it. Children who stay away from TV and videos are way better off mentally, I'm convinced, for many reasons, but not the least because of this. TV shortens children's attention span - intentionally.

The Biden administration is ramping up efforts to slow the spread of monkeypox by distributing tens of thousands of vaccine doses, after facing criticism over its early response to a US outbreak primarily affecting gay men. The plan, announced on Tuesday, involves rapidly expanding access to doses of Bavarian Nordic's Jynneos vaccine—which has so far been limited—to prevent monkeypox in areas with the highest transmission and need.(Snip)Although the vaccine itself has been approved for use by US regulators, the doses in Denmark were produced on a manufacturing line that is still awaiting Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval, officials said earlier this month.

Experts say it will take at least another couple months for this to change, as both supply levels and consumers’ perspectives level out. Through Operation Fly Formula, the White House has committed to import enough formula to make the equivalent of about 40 million 8-ounce bottles. More than a quarter of that supply–enough to make 13 million bottles–has already been delivered as of June 19, according to a statement from the US Department of Human Services. Still, stock rates for formula continue to hit new lows
