Rep. Al Green makes push for National
Slavery Remembrance Day

Original Article

Posted By: Ribicon, 6/17/2022 2:30:20 PM

Rep. Al Green is leading an effort to make 2022 the first year that would mark the anniversary of the first slave ships arriving in North America 400 years ago. The Texas Democrat, who introduced a resolution last November, is hoping to renew the push as the country celebrates Juneteenth on Sunday, and the federal holiday on Monday. “Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom. Slavery Remembrance is a commemoration of slavery itself and it will help us to make sure that we don’t see it sanitized. We want to tell the truth about it,” Mr. Green told The Washington Times.(Snip)The joint resolution was also introduced by Sen. Elizabeth Warren

Comments:

We have one single day to honor all US presidents (on which we go shopping, because we're American). One day to recognize all US veterans, and another day to recognize US war dead. One day to recognize when the Founders declared freedom from a centralized government (only to recreate bigger and better it years later). We also have a full month to honor each and every form of sexual depravity. And because bLACK people built this nation, we have bLACK History Mumph, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Day, Juneteemph, and Kwanzaa, plus whatever day their EBT cards are replenished with reparations each month. And still that's not enough because deep down, they resent that they're black.

Isn't everyday Slavery Remembrance Day? Aren't we reminded on a daily basis that every problem and ill facing the Black community is because of the "legacy of slavery and oppression"? If the give in to Slavery Remembrance Day, what's next? It will never be enough until the activists get their reparations and even then it will not be enough. Blacks need to get the slavery chip off their shoulder. Blacks come here from other countries and have no issues but those born here dwell on and cling to the distant past as their excuse for their own personal failures an shortcomings.

So this means the statues will go back up, and names of schools et al needlessly changed will be changed back? Of course not, Green doesn't want to tell the truth because he wouldn't know it if he tripped over it. Green does little more than compete with SJL in Houston for most idiotic racist Congress critter.

So lets be brutally honest here and cut through Mr. Green's bullsh**. How about marking the year that blacks enslaved their own people. How about marking the year that black starting selling their own people into slavery and shipping them all over the globe, BEFORE AMERICA WAS FOUNDED. How about marking the years that blacks took over and destroyed cities like Atlanta, Chicago, Baltimore, Oakland, New Orleans, NYC, Newark, St. Louis, Louisville, Memphis and many others. How about honoring the 80% of violent crimes committed by blacks while being 13% of the population and how about honoring blacks committing more hate crimes than any other group. Think black on Asian crime. You want to know how many school systems they have destroyed. And you can go on and on and on.This is the insanity of a person like this Green guy. Get it yet..

I have a good idea. Let's just make a new national holiday called "National Butt Hurt Day". Anyone who has ever had his, her, or "it's" feelings hurt can spend the day whining and moaning about how "unfair" it all is and how they are eternal victims!!! And the rest of us sane and normal people can just have a fun day to go to the lake, BBQ, and make fun of those losers who actually need this holiday!!!!

Al, we gave you Martin Luther King Day. Now you want Juneteenth day. We'll give you Juneteenth if you will agree that Martin Luther King Day be cancelled. My local PBS station plays black race-related slavery television documentaries almost nonstop, except a couple of times a year when they have a fundraising week, when they play interesting programs and Pink Floyd tribute concerts, interspersed with fundraising pleas. You folks and PBS won't let us forget slavery. Why should we dedicate a separate holiday for it?

I am sick and tired of this garbage. Why don't we introduce in Europe and the US when the black continent of Afrika started their selling and buying of white slaves about 1000 years ago long before the European started buying and selling. Why don't we introduce another 'holiday' commemorating the fact that several tribes in Afrika to this day sell slaves.

The democrat party has lied to you and your fellow African Americans all your lives, so you best get used to your position. Stop blaming republicans, we actually fought to free you, arm you against the Klan and we also voted for civil rights for blacks too. The Left must be worried about the black exit from the Democrat Party. It's going slowly, but it is going, and more & more blacks are waking up to the fact that the only thing the Dems care about from blacks is their vote. Green's idea is just another ploy to make blacks think they are perpetual victims-victims who will forever unable to care & think for themselves unless the gvt, helps them. What kind of help is that?

Joe Biden made Juneteenth a federal holiday last year. Isn't that enough? No. No, it isn't. As #2 observes, we're constantly reminded of something that no living person was responsible for or subject to, has zero relevance today, is merely a historical fact long past which was ended at great cost, and wasn't even a historical anomaly. But, it's a handy excuse for personal failure.

New York City needs to “do better” in preventing black residents from being driven out of their neighborhoods, Mayor Eric Adams said on Sunday, during an address marking the Juneteenth holiday. Speaking in Central Park, Adams compared the modern-day uprooting of people of color from neighborhoods across the US—including the five boroughs—to slavery. “When I was in Ghana last year, [I] saw how families were displaced, torn apart and brought over to America through slavery in the hulls of the ships, living in dungeons, spending months and months living in their human waste, having their babies taken from them, and saw them dispersed and displaced,” he said.

Democrats in the Massachusetts state legislature have approved legislation to provide tens of thousands of illegal aliens with driver’s licenses—a vital tool for the open borders lobby. As Breitbart News reported, Gov. Charlie Baker (R) vetoed the legislation that would allow tens of thousands of illegal aliens in the state to obtain driver’s licenses. Baker said he vetoed the plan because it “significantly increases the risk that noncitizens will be registered to vote.” With majorities in the state House and Senate, Democrats have overridden Baker’s veto to ensure illegal aliens can begin obtaining driver’s licenses beginning July 1, 2023. Texas taxpayers are paying the price for Governor Greg Abbott's plan to bus migrants who crossed into the U.S. illegally to Washington, D.C. As of June 7, $2.9 million in taxpayer funds have sent only 1,778 immigrants to the nation's capital, according to Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) documents–and the figure is expected to rise as more buses have already been deployed and Abbott shows no signs of slowing the stunt. More than $1 million of the total cost has gone toward security alone, while taxpayers are also footing the bill for drivers and GPS tracking, among other things.

With the ascendance of wicked leftist ideology in a nation awash in decadence, crime and perversion where it is acceptable practice to subject small children to transgender strippers doing the bump and grind at drag queen events, some may feel that America has been allowed to drift away from its religious moorings and a new Gallup poll would seem to offer confirmation of that idea. According to data compiled by the nation’s premier polling organization, belief in God among Americans has dropped to the lowest level since it began asking the question during World War II, a sobering revelation at a time when immorality is viewed as a virtue and

Disney’s upcoming adventure film “Strange World” will feature a gay teen romance—the first in an animated feature produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. The film, which is scheduled to open on Nov. 23, will follow three generations of a family of explorers and take viewers “to a place of infinite mystery unlike anything you’ve ever seen,” according to a trailer released by the studio earlier this month.(Snip)In one of them, Ethan (Young-White) flirts with a boy named Diazo in front of his friends, who tease him in a friendly way. His father, Searcher Clade (Gyllenhaal), later joins in and embarrasses him in “an overeager show of acceptance,”

Cherlisa Starks-Richardson was disappointed when she learned that the beloved children's museum in her community was selling a "watermelon salad" in celebration of Juneteenth. Starks-Richardson, who often took her daughter to the Indianapolis Children's Museum growing up, said she expected the museum would be more focused on educating the public about Juneteenth -- which celebrates the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans -- instead of serving themed foods. To make matters worse, she said, watermelon has historically been used as a racist trope against Black Americans. "People were very offended by it," said Starks-Richardson, an educator in the Indianapolis area. "Everybody is trying to capitalize off Juneteenth to make money.

Van Jones may be a liberal, but when he’s right, he’s right. On Friday, he was right as he delivered a concise and effective critique of the current state of the Democrat Party. While making one of his regular appearances on CNN, the former Obama administration official explained how Democrats are completely out of touch with the working class, creating a party comprised of tone-deaf elites. But it’s the way he explained things that eventually left the anchors sitting in stunned silence. Really, the looks on the faces of Brianna Keilar and John Berman are just priceless. (Tweet/Video)

The radical pro-abortion group, Jane’s Revenge, is planning more acts of domestic terrorism when the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on Roe v. Wade is revealed, dubbed a “Night of Rage: An Autonomous Call to Action Against Patriarchal Supremacy.” The group posted its plans on the Anarchists Library website at the end of May in expectation of the ruling, expected sometime in June. Here are some excerpts from the manifesto: This is an event that should inspire rage in millions of people who can get pregnant…and yet, the response thus far has been tepid.(Snip)The next step is carrying that anger out into the world and expressing it physically.

79-year-old Joe Biden fell off his bike while riding near his home in Rehoboth Beach on Saturday morning. Secret Service agents swarmed the fallen commander-in-chief as he needed help in getting back up. He didn’t fall while he was riding it, as most people do… He literally was standing still, and he tipped right over.

CNN correspondent John Harwood defended President Biden against critics who have concerns over the president's age during a segment on Sunday’s "Reliable Sources." On Thursday, The Atlantic writer Mark Leibovich penned an article pleading Biden not to run for re-election in 2024 due to concerns over his age. Biden, who is already the oldest person to hold the office, will turn 80 in November and would be 82 by the beginning of a potential second term. "Let me put this bluntly: Joe Biden should not run for re-election in 2024. He is too old," Leibovich wrote. CNN host Brian Stelter

Pro-abortion activists dressed in blood-soaked outfits and brandishing dolls held a protest outside the home of Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett on Saturday as the court is poised to overturn Roe V. Wade in the coming weeks. Protesters from the Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights group gathered outside Barrett's home in Falls Church, Virginia, waving signs calling on the Supreme Court to protect women's federal abortion rights. The group also carried dolls and wore white pants with blood stains around the crotch, which they said represented an increase in the number of forced births that would take place if Barrett and her fellow conservative justices strike down Roe v. Wade.

In her June 18/19 column at the Wall Street Journal, Ms. Noonan takes Hillary Clinton's "deplorables" slap at Trump voters and goes one — nay, two better. She refers to voters who question the results of the 2020 presidential election as "kooks, crooks, and freaks" and then smears the citizens who went to Washington, D.C. January 6, 2021 as "[t]hose poor stupid people." What is the basis for this criticism, which, arguably, is less ad hominem and, more accurately, descriptive of her mindset? Perhaps Ms. Noonan has not read Margot Cleveland's analysis in The Federalist showing how Georgia election officials failed to enforce the state's election laws in 2020.
