Trainwreck: Ratings Are in for Jan. 6

The numbers are in for the Jan. 6 Committee production. If we looked at how people were tuning out, it stood to reason it wasn’t going to go well. As anticipated, it didn’t. So to translate that into something that helps you understand how much it bombed, here’s The Hill’s media guy, Joe Concha noting that this is significantly smaller than the regular newscasts that they run that don’t have the advantage of running in primetime. “Context: The evening newscasts on CBS, NBC & ABC average anywhere from 18 to 20 million viewers combined on a typical night,” Concha explained. “Those newscasts do not air in primetime.

Every Demo committee member should be thrown in jail. They should also pay back the 8 million that's costing the taxpayers to run these banana republic hearings.

From the article: "The January 6 hearings airing in primetime Thursday took in just 11+ million viewers on those three same networks." I have one question about January 6; after all, it was about the 2020 election. Why aren't the 81 million people who voted for Joe Biden watching this January 6 program?

Here's another question, poster 7. Why weren't the usual rioters out in the streets in protest of the January 6 "riots"? I'll answer my own question. The usual, on-call rioters know that January 6 was one of their events, and they know it was nothing compared to the least violent rioting they've done. Everybody and their mama knows January 6 is just like Russian collusion. They're bored. Only those aging leftist clowns believe their hype anymore. It's always funny to watch a well crafted plan backfire because it's foolishness to begin with, and it's always funny to watch the fools who crafted the garbage look like the fools that they are. They were so sure it would work but it just didn't, and they're clueless as to why.

What this also implies is that many people have already made their minds up about what happened Jan 6. A bunch of people got together to legitimately protest. It is very possible that certain elements of the bureaucracy entrapped some of the protesters by leaving doors open and chatting them up to go into the building. Some got carried away and have been found guilty and sentenced. OK. Trump encouraged a legitimate protest based on the now certain reality that the election was corrupted. There was no "insurrection". There was no "conspiracy". The dems are in deep, deep trouble and are desperate. The dems did similar things during the 2 impeachment attempts of Trump. They talked big but presented NO evidence, only outrage. The dems did the same things during the "Russia, Russia, Russia" investigation which we now KNOW was a Clintoon dirty trick (i.e. BIG LIE) with the assistance of the FBI, CIA, and other government actors. The media hyped up all the dem efforts and INSISTED that all the charges were true. They were not. The media is biased and untrustworthy. More Americans KNOW the truth about these issues now, especially many groups that previously supported dems. In short, Jan 6 sounds like more of the same baloney. The effect of dem policies on the country has been devastating and is seriously hurting a large portion of the American people. The voters are set to sweep dems out of Congress and they can see the desperation of the dems. The dems are teetering on the edge of a cliff that could cripple them for decades. Their history shows they cannot be trusted. Judgement is coming and their Jan 6th hysterical antics are only going to make things worse for them.

No one cares...ancient history... Meanwhile, people rot in jail charged with misdemeanors that are essentially empty. It would be great if conservatives would do more than rant in blogs to secure the release of these "patriots". It would be great if conservatives agitated demanding justice for Ashlii. Where are the demonstrators on the steps of the DC Jail, USCP Headquarters, or getting hauled out of the hallway in front of Pelosi's or Schumer's offices after spilling "blood" all over the wall and floor? It could go on someone's permanent record, and there's choir practice that night...

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) bragged about her efforts to block legislation that would increase security for Supreme Court justices shortly after authorities foiled an alleged assassination attempt against Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Ocasio-Cortez posted a video to her Instagram Stories on Thursday in which she claims to walk to the floor of the House of Representatives to object to unanimous consent for legislation, Newsweek reported. The progressive “Squad” member said in the video that Thursday was a “fly out day” when many members of Congress left Washington, D.C., for their home districts.

Sullivan’s latest piece on Substack is titled “The Vibes They Are A-Shiftin'” and that actually undersells the case he makes that the woke left (or whatever you prefer to call them) appear to be in retreat. He opens by noting that it was only 2 years ago that the world was figuratively and sometimes literally on fire. Activists were demanding police be defunded and Ibram Kendi and Robin DiAngelo were seemingly anointed as our foremost public intellectuals. Jump forward two years and things look very different. Last year, Eric Adams became mayor of New York City, propelled by minority voters horrified by surging crime and chaos. This past week,

Would-be assassin Nicholas Roske failed to carry out his mission of assassinating Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. This isn’t surprising: the sort of person who acts on incitement from the likes of Chuck Schumer is more or less deranged, and more or less incompetent. Yet there are more where Roske came from, and one of them may succeed. What do the Democrats think about attempted assassinations of Supreme Court justices? To my knowledge, neither Schumer nor Joe Biden’s handlers have commented. I surmise that the Democrats are hoping for one or more assassinations to take place before Biden is hustled out of the White House, so that his handlers can appoint

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) went up by 8.6 percent in May, the highest year-over-year increase since December 1981, the Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed on Friday. The increase was higher than the 8.3 percent increase projected by economists. Core CPI, excluding volatile energy and food prices, increased by six percent year-over-year. The CPI increased by 1 percent in May alone, with core CPI rising 0.6 percent over the same period. Price increases were recorded in “shelter, gasoline, and food,” the BLS said. Gas prices hit a new record on Friday with the national average reaching $4.986 per gallon, according to AAA.

If the Democrats thought that the reaction to the Jan. 6 Committee was going to be riveting, the reaction so far from a variety of quarters says not so much. CNN’s Chris Wallace expressed skepticism that the Committee was going to produce anything of worth. “I’m kind of skeptical about what we’re going to see tonight and over the next couple of weeks,” Wallace said on CNN minutes before the hearing was set to begin. Wallace said the committee had put itself in danger of falling victim to too much “hype” about its findings and “over-selling” what they have to tell the American people about the attack.

Today, media outlets have gotten hold of the two 911 calls that Roske made shortly after he arrived. He made two calls. The first one was about a minute and ended when he couldn’t tell the dispatcher exactly where he was located. But he called back a moment later, gave an address and spoke

Joe Biden and the Democrats don’t want to have to talk about policies or any of the real issues afflicting the country right now. Because if they did, the focus would be on all their failures. Not only is it a show trial, it even has a producer, as my colleague Jeff Charles reported, like any TV drama — according to Axios, “James Goldston — former president of ABC News, and a documentary storyteller who ran ‘Good Morning America’ and ‘Nightline’ —

Axios acquired a copy of the letter, which replicates a letter that was originally sent to Congress in 2019. There are some revisions to the message and an increased number of signatories. The push to re-send the letter is the result of a partnership between Levi’s and Mike Bloomberg-affiliated Everytown for Gun Safety. In the letter, CEOs describe gun violence as a “public health crisis,” noting economic impact of gun crime and the human cost of gun crime.
