ASHBURN, Va. — The NFL’s Washington Commanders once again find themselves at the center of an off-the-field issue that has nothing to do with football, dealing another blow to their rapidly sagging reputation as one of the most dysfunctional franchises in professional sports. The fallout from the latest misstep requiring an explanation or apology — assistant coach Jack Del Rio comparing the protests in the wake of the police killing of George Floyd to the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol — could have far-reaching consequences beyond the locker room. It immediately scuttled the team’s best opportunity to reach a deal to build a new stadium,

FTA: "The president of the NAACP on Thursday called for Del Rio to be terminated, saying the comments could not have been more offensive and ignorant. “Downplaying the insurrection by comparing it to nationwide protests, which were in response to a public lynching, is twisted,” Derrick Johnson said in a statement." Tell the truth in this country, go against the Democrats, and they will cancel you. January 6th was not an insurrection (funny how Democrats cannot read a dictionary; oh I forgot, most of their low information followers cannot read AT ALL), and the death of George Floyd was not a "public lynching". It wasn't even a murder. The state of this country is sickening.

George Floyd committed suicide by drugs. Trying to keep him from the frenzied crisis he’d put himself into with those drugs, a frenzy that would have stopped his heart, the police ended up accused of murder. Nothing could have been further from the truth, but truth is under siege now.

If the NAACP wants to hold up George Floyd as some kind of hero - go for it. Lots of people are third of the double-standards in this country.

Gee. I normally don't listen to an assistant football coach for my political views. And hey, it's a free country. Even Al Franken used to be funny on SNL many, many years ago. His politics used to not affect that.

If colored people did not commit so many crimes, more of us would be in favor of their "advancement." Progress must be made by the people themselves and not depend on whitey to do it for them. It's the ultimate in mixed messages.

The AP loves calling J6 an "insurrection" continuing the lies that have been bringing down the AP for years. And now everyone is supposed to be upset about what a Washington Redskins coach thinks. (Yes, to me they will always be the Redskins just as Cleveland will always be the Indians.) The truth is always too much for these people. And It's a real crime that a cop is rotting away in a prison for being there when George Floyd finally died of his drug habits.

The Murder of Wisdom? 9 replies

My late father called it the “boob tube.” He did so not because of the rise, in the 1970s, of so-called “jiggle TV.” He only watched sports and the news. As a teacher, he loathed the deleterious effects television viewing had upon the intellectual practices and acumen of the populace, especially students. He contended that sitting for hours every day and every night in front of the TV to be passively entertained prevented people from actively learning and experiencing life. Perhaps even more than a formal education, he argued, these active experiences provided the life lessons needed later in adulthood to help provide wisdom.

Those institutions must respond within 30 days of receiving those notification letters to avoid winding up on the list. In June 2021, Texas passed a

South Carolina rep Nancy Mace is the typical DC political creature who sheds skin, changes position and manipulates sentences to obfuscate her DeceptiCon nature. Nikki Haley and her donor allies are pouring money into Mace’s district and putting all their clout behind her race. However, Donald Trump has endorsed Katie Arrington, who is the favorite of the grass roots MAGA base. If South Carolina republicans want to hit Mitch McConnell and his

Nothing beats success like success. President Donald John Trump's victories in the Republican primaries have convinced me that I was wrong. Endorsing candidates rocked. He is 116-7 for a 94.3% success rate. That translates into a .943 batting average. In Tuesday's primaries, he went 16-0. A 17th race -- Ryan Zinke's bid for Congress in Montana -- is undecided but he is ahead by 1.5 points. Sure, many of those hits were singles. Kristi Noem never was at risk in her bid for the Republican nod for another term as governor of South Dakota. But singles add up. Pete Rose had 3,215 career singles on his way to a 4,256-hit career,
