Reasons to think there will be layoffs

Twitter has accepted Elon Musk’s offer but there are lots of people suggesting that Musk either can’t or won’t be able to complete the deal for various reasons. One reason is that Tesla stock has been down sharply this week despite the spectacular quarterly results the company announced last week. Tesla Inc lost $126 billion in value on Tuesday amid investor concerns that Chief Executive Elon Musk may have to sell shares to fund his $21 billion equity contribution to his $44 billion buyout of Twitter Inc… Wedbush Securities analyst Daniel Ives said that worries about upcoming stock sales by Musk and the possibility that he is becoming distracted by Twitter

Call in each employee and give them 1 minute to justify their position. The ones who would ban the constitution if someone posted get fired on the spot.

Outright firing is necessary to get rid of all those demonrats who believe in censorship. Tigers never change their stripes. And neither do zebras.

It must take a lot of effort to monitor and censor and most of the people who have been doing that will no longer be necessary. Especially, you won't need a high end lawyer to explain and defend your actions (bye bye Gadde). Given the mental climate in San Francisco, there will probably be a significant amount of attrition of employees that "just can't handle" the new work environment. In fact, it might become necessary to move the company to get a less biased pool of workers. Also, according to some inside rumors, actually expecting a fast paced, 40+ hour work week may be a shock for some of the employees.

Pontificators are usually 100% wrong when it comes to the strategies and tactics of the ultra-wealthy. They tend to think that it's one person setting the goal and executing the plan. Wrong. Men like Musk have teams of lawyers, accountants, and others to "make things happen" for their boss. He's not stupid! He's done one or two things in his life successfully. If he sets his mind on something he usually achieves it. Remember Musk's quote on TED talks about the Twitter purchase, "I don't care about the economics of it."

Known company censorship advocates must go. Elon has made it quit clear that free speech is the company’s main thrust and mission statement. You cannot keep people who do not believe in the company’s mission and who believe in ideals that counter your company’s goals. They must go! You cannot risk having them kept in place. Do you think censorship advocates are going to go in to work everyday and do their best or go above and beyond what is required of them..hell no they will not. Say Bye Bye to free speech haters.

Two successive Manhattan District Attorneys, Cyrus Vance, Jr. and Alvin Bragg, have dug for dirt on Donald Trump, looking for something – anything – on which to indict him. And they have failed.  The Washington Post: A six-month grand jury that was convened late last year to hear evidence against Donald Trump was set to expire this week, closing a chapter in a lengthy criminal investigation that appears to be fizzling out without charges against the former president, people familiar with matter said. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D), who took office in January, inherited a probe launched by his predecessor, Cyrus R. Vance Jr., who was convinced that there was a case against Trump

Today’s doom scroll for Democrats comes courtesy of the NPR/PBS Marist Poll, which was out in the field last week with a survey of 1,377 voters. And it provides yet more indicators that Democrats are fast losing Latinos, which, if it comes to pass and becomes a real realignment of voting preferences, is, in the words of Ruy Teixiera, “an extinction level event for the Democratic Party.” First, let’s look at the ethnic breakdown on Biden’s job approval rating: On the question of Biden’s handling of the economy, Latinos are more negative than whites (thought it is within the margin of error, so basically a tie):

Just how doomed are Democrats in November's midterms? It doesn't take a statistician to read the writing on the wall — inflation sitting at 40-year highs, gas reaching an all-time high, a woke Democrat-education complex running amok, and an open border that's triggered drug, humanitarian, and public health crises — and see that the party in power of the executive and legislative branches is in trouble.  A new poll out from NPR and Marist shows just how bad Democrats are doing and among which groups their support is trailing GOP candidates by double-digits on the generic congressional ballot question that asks "If this year's election for Congress

The company issued a press release on April 26 announcing that it will promote Google Chrome 101.0.4951.41 in the coming days or weeks to the stable channel for Mac, Windows, and Linux, which will offer protection from the dozens of common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVE) found on the browser, which Statista reports is used by 3.2 billion people.
April 30th Marks the End of the Vietnam

April 30th marks the Fall of Saigon, and the end of the war in Vietnam. But April 30th demarcates more than just the end of the first war America lost; that date could be used as the beginning of the end of many “myths” about the war — the first being, that America’s military “lost.” In reality, the men who fought in Vietnam weren’t allowed to win. The politicians in Washington, particularly Robert McNamara as the Secretary of Defense, hamstrung our fighting men with absurd rules of engagement (ROE) that made it impossible to win. Robert McNamara, a man with no experience in fighting wars or any understanding how they are fought, was tapped

PJ’s Rick Moran revealed Thursday that the chief of America’s new Thought Police, Disinformation Governance Board executive director Nina Jankowicz, brings a peculiar wealth of experience to her new job: she falsely claimed in 2017 that Republicans funded the notorious Steele Dossier that was a central element of the Russian Collusion hoax, and she insisted that Hunter Biden’s laptop was a “Trump campaign product.” So it’s clear: this is an individual who knows all about disinformation. Tesla CEO Elon Musk secured financing for his $44 billion takeover bid of Twitter by pledging to slash jobs and executive pay, among other cost-cutting measures, according to a report. Musk also told lenders that he would maximize profitability at the social media platform by monetizing tweets, though he did not provide specifics, and floated suggestions on how to boost revenue including a subscription service, according to Bloomberg News. Musk had to convince the banks that Twitter produced enough cash flow to service the debt he sought, according to the report. In the end, he clinched $13 billion in loans secured against Twitter and a $12.5 billion margin loan

Following Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, we’re seeing a lot of suspensions being lifted and suddenly conservatives are getting huge jumps in followers, while liberals are losing followers. Donald Trump, Jr., who gained more than 200,000 followers over two days, after normally gaining about 7,000 a day, speculated on the phenomenon — that they might be trying to clean up a lot of the censorship trail before Musk comes in. Suspensions also are reportedly being lifted in many cases. So if you’ve been suspended, appeal and see if you get put back. Jill Biden is not an inherently interesting person. She’s been a teacher for some decades now, wrote an undistinguished thesis to get a meaningless Ed.D., and now functions as her husband’s nursemaid. She also lacks charm. And, of course, she’s White. Why someone thought a biography of her would be interesting is impossible to understand although a biography that took two people to write hit the market this past week—and completely bombed. (snip) Julie Page and Darlene Superville, both of whom are AP reporters, thought there was something there, something people would pay $26 for a hardback to learn about.
