Why Does the Left Have Such a Difficult
Time With the Concept of 'Free Speech'?

For if Men are to be precluded from offering their Sentiments on a matter, which may involve the most serious and alarming consequences, that can invite the consideration of Mankind, reason is of no use to us; the freedom of Speech may be taken away, and, dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep, to the Slaughter. —George Washington Washington was on to something. There is no more vital safeguard of our liberties than freedom of speech. Without it, we are, as Washington graphically notes, “like sheep led to the slaughter.” Benjamin Franklin (writing as the widow Silence Dogood) said it as plainly as it could be said. Probably because they know the majority of us don't like or want to tolerate their liberal fantasies and the only way we have to communicate our feelings is by Freedom of Speech...they don't like it, they don't want to tolerate it, it makes them look bad...

Simple. Socialism doesn't work and corruption requires deception. Democrats depend on lies to survive politically, and free speech exposes lies.

Free Speech to a liberal is like a mother taking a look at her 15 year-old boy's search history while he looks on. Free Speech intrudes into the private fantasy world of the liberal mind and shocks it with the light of reason. Liberals cannot tolerate any scrutiny at all. Free Speech is holy water to the demons of liberalism. Free Speech destroys liberalism. Why? Because rational thought destroys liberalism.

How's this going to work? First of all I'm not sure they can move ahead with this based on the Constitution, but we know they have little regard for that outdated white supremist document. But - how will they police their versions of Truth? Let's take the election. Do they posit that it was certainly fair and free of any fraud and demand that Fair and Free is the Government approved facts and no one can say otherwise? Or do they wait until I post an expression that it was NOT and then what? Is my post simply removed? If I keep posting same am I then removed. Am I targeted then as a potential 'troublemaker' with a late night knock at my door? Do they have to prove their version of events or disprove mine? Are they going to ban all conversation of the documentary film 2000 Mules? They going to find D'nesh and remove him too? That's just the election. We have a lot of thoughts the government doesn't like about the economy, illegals, race relations, etc. Woooo Boy Howdy - they gonna open up a uuuuuge can of worms. This could be fun. There appears to be a LOT of disagreement on what Truth is

The Left suppressing a viewpoint is like being in an abusive marriage where a spouse controls the other with force and violence. And the abused spouse lives in fear of saying or doing the wrong thing.

No. 7 - my take on it - They will censor anything and everything that they want to censor. It will be done with a set of rules and regulations that will be in a constant state of flux depending on the need(s) at the moment - IOW - about a stable as a nitro truck with a broken axle ! If you repeatedly break the rule(s) ( will not matter if the rule you broke is currently 'in effect' or not ) you will be banned, blocked, locked out, possibly fined and/or jailed until you STOP. Talk to Mark Stein about what he went through and why he changed his residency location !

Leftists used to be all about free speech. When and why did that change? For them free speech was only a means to an end. When they got their free speech, made their arguments, and failed to win over the American people, and when the speech from their opponents seemed too successful, they switched to the repression of speech, because the end was never freedom.

"Elon Musk is sort of on the right track. But even he will have to bow to the eager-beaver lefty censors who are pure of heart and empty of head. And the concept of free speech will die a little more.`" HUH? Musk won't have to bow to censors or anyone else because his idea is to ELIMINATE censorship, not to change the way judgements are made. In addition, he wants to minimize banning people and their voices from the platform. Consider, the exiting idiots decided to ban the ELECTED President of the United States and silence his voice. WHO is ANYONE in a business qualified to make such a decision? I am sure there may be some requirements to deal with things like sexual harassment, threats, etc. but those are usually narrowed down to individuals that are clearly of bounds. WHY is the Left going crazy? Because their ideas are wrong headed, indefensible, and always fail. The only way they can prevail in a discussion is to block all counter arguments that shred their plans into absurdities and examples how they have failed over and over again. Truth destroys them like sunlight does a vampire. They would have the world plunged into darkness to preserve themselves.

FTA:Why suppress a viewpoint because it might hurt someone’s feelings or is repulsively racist or anti-Semitic? The article starts to answer the question. Because Leftists feel morally superior by labeling viewpoints they don't like as racist, sexist, anti-Semitic or and harmful to ''vulnerable communities''. They can prance around being judge, jury, and executioner. About half the country seems to have reached the boiling point though. Biden's Ministry of Truth may be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

If you consider the last election, the social media worked together to silence any form of speech that went against their narrative off Russian collusion the liberals pushed twenty-four hours a day. Facebook, Twitter, etc., worked together to make sure any conservative voice was silenced. They did a good job of it & now they're trying it again with a different tactic. In the meanwhile, most of our Republican leaders complain but can't bring themselves to join together & prove they are leaders for the people instead of trying to retire millionaires.

Here's what I think can go wrong if Musk allows Totally Free speech: a bunch of people, some of them false flag provocateurs, will post material (speech, photos, video, whatever) that is very offensive, disgusting or downright illegal. This could include pornography, snuff films, open calls for insurrection or assassinations, etc. Naturally---for the public's protection!---the govt. will be FORCED to step in and begin removing 'forbidden' content. What the govt. considers 'forbidden' will of course be a moving target. It's hard to see any way around this problem.

They realize that their modern message of "progressivism{" is not selling with the American people, as the number of registered Democrats to Republicans has been declining for decades. There's only one solution, and it's found in the 1930's in Europe from Lenin and Goebbels - Censorship! I can think of only one man who has been made a citizen of the USA who might remember life under Hitler and that would be George Soros. Is it any wonder that since Soros arrived in this country and became hyper-politically active on a global scale that all these things we once cherished about this nation have been in gross decline? America is in a war for its very soul, and George Soros is the instigator.

The left understands the concept of freedom of Speech all too well. That is why they are trying to suppress it. They know that, without freedom of Speech, we may be taken away, and, dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep, to the Slaughter as George Washington warned. Thank Heaven that the framers of our Constitution realized the need to add a Bill of Rights -- the first ten amendments to our Constitution. This is simple: The Left hates "free speech" simply because it leads to criticism. And because all sinners hate to see themselves in a negative light. Everything they do --- as evil as it may be --- is okay as long as no one asks they to explain themselves and they can pretend that they are normal. Who are you to judge me? What they really, really object to is anyone holding up a mirror and forcing them to admit they are wrong and thus --- naked.

You'll find the answer on page 133 of the liberal playbook. Socialism to move forward into aggressive communism has to quell the truth in free speech. Dissent is not an option it slows the movement of socialism down. Along with religion and God free speech is a disease of the masses. On a modern note, free speech works for the people in power it's the reason the left needed a 'Ministry of Truth' to define if opposing speech is really disinformation to be decided by the supreme minister of quackery, we are witnessing it now. Elon Musk struck at the heart of the left's censorship proving it is a sign that the left is mad with their ban on free speech it now scares them to the point of telling on themselves when arguing the concept of it. God bless America and its free speech.

#30 - You are so right, "Everything they do --- as evil as it may be --- is okay as long as no one asks they to explain themselves and they can pretend that they are normal." Our long-time neighbor, always willing to help, is an open and matter-of-fact lesbian. Physically she is what was once called a "mannish woman". She's a hard worker and had her own house painting business for decades. We witnessed her cycle through many girl friends; a whacked-out former junkie who died of hepatitis in her mid 40's, followed by a glam gal who even got my neighbor to wear eye make-up(!), and a soft-ball teammate that stole from her. However, she's been with the same gal now for over 20 years. When the homosexual marriage proposition was on the ballot here in California we had a conversation over the word "normal". She kept insisting that the same-sex lifestyle was "normal". I tried to explain that "normal" meant being part of the "norm", meaning the majority. We went back and forth for at least a half hour, remaining cordial, but that was the last time we talked. We still greet each other when we meet in town, but things are frosty. To accept the reality of their situation is just too much to bear.

Liberals are guided by emotion not by logic, common sense or objectivity. They make their decision based on emotions and their feelings. Their emotions are their truths. Presented factual truths often contradict their emotional truths. Because they are so emotional this state of contradiction is very uncomfortable for them. This state is easily identifiable. When presented with facts they cannot counter they resort to name calling. How many times do they call people racist and nazis when it is far from the truth. Censorship shields them from the reality of facts and truth and keeps them comfortably in their unicorn, snow cone, cotton candy, hot air ballon , rainbow, puppy dog, safe-space fantasy world. Today’s doom scroll for Democrats comes courtesy of the NPR/PBS Marist Poll, which was out in the field last week with a survey of 1,377 voters. And it provides yet more indicators that Democrats are fast losing Latinos, which, if it comes to pass and becomes a real realignment of voting preferences, is, in the words of Ruy Teixiera, “an extinction level event for the Democratic Party.” First, let’s look at the ethnic breakdown on Biden’s job approval rating: On the question of Biden’s handling of the economy, Latinos are more negative than whites (thought it is within the margin of error, so basically a tie):

April 30th marks the Fall of Saigon, and the end of the war in Vietnam. But April 30th demarcates more than just the end of the first war America lost; that date could be used as the beginning of the end of many “myths” about the war — the first being, that America’s military “lost.” In reality, the men who fought in Vietnam weren’t allowed to win. The politicians in Washington, particularly Robert McNamara as the Secretary of Defense, hamstrung our fighting men with absurd rules of engagement (ROE) that made it impossible to win. An innovative face mask for cows, designed to reduce methane emissions and slow down climate change, has won a prestigious design award. The wearable device for cattle, created by UK-based design group Zelp, was one of the four winners of the inaugural Terra Cart Design Lab competition. Prince Charles, who launched the competition as part of his Sustainable Markets Initiative, hailed the ground-breaking design as "fascinating" at an awards ceremony in London on Wednesday, The Telegraph reported. The design, a smart harness for cows, converts methane into carbon dioxide and water vapor. Cows expel significant quantities of methane, an odorless

Jill Biden is not an inherently interesting person. She’s been a teacher for some decades now, wrote an undistinguished thesis to get a meaningless Ed.D., and now functions as her husband’s nursemaid. She also lacks charm. And, of course, she’s White. Why someone thought a biography of her would be interesting is impossible to understand although a biography that took two people to write hit the market this past week—and completely bombed. (snip) Julie Page and Darlene Superville, both of whom are AP reporters, thought there was something there, something people would pay $26 for a hardback to learn about.

Republicans are calling it Orwellian and comparing it to the ministry of truth in the novel 1984. Can you clarify what exactly is this? What exactly will this disinformation governance board do? Will it monitor American citizens? ”Mayorkas said, “Dana, I’m very pleased to do so. It’s clear, I mean, those criticisms are precisely the opposite of what this

Actor Alec Baldwin pushed gun control Friday just months after Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed in an on set sequence in which Baldwin was holding the gun. In a Friday Instagram post, the Boss Baby star wrote “We regulate many things in this country in the interest of public health and safety. Drugs, cars, professional licenses, etc. We need gun control reform. Now.” Alec Baldwin did not describe the kinds of “gun control reform” that he wants to see, but he did post video in which numerous shots rang out near a South Carolina little league baseball game on Monday.

All Hillary Schubach wanted to do is something good for the environment. But after switching to driving a plug-in electric sedan, she quickly realized a new complication of apartment living: Access to a charging station. Schubach’s hardly alone. Even as it appears electric car sales are hitting a tipping point, those living in apartments and condominiums around the nation can find it difficult, expensive or outright impossible to find a way to plug in when they’re at home. With nearly one out of three households living in apartments or condominiums, the goal of switching to electric vehicles to fight climate

Republican Sen. Mitt Romney reportedly likes to go incognito while in Palm Beach, Florida. The Utah conservative has been wearing hats while dining out in the wealthy oceanside enclave, where he has a vacation home, in an effort to disguise himself, a family friend told the authors of the new book "This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America's Future." "If he were recognized by Trump supporters there, there was a good chance he would be harassed," New York Times reporters Jonathan Martin and Alex Burns wrote. Former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort is also in Palm Beach.

Deborah Birx, in an interview with ABC News about her new book, “Silent Invasion: The Untold Story of the Trump Administration, COVID-19, and Preventing the Next Pandemic Before It’s Too Late,’ said she had a pact with medical bureaucrats—Anthony Fauci, Robert Redfield, Stephen Hahn and perhaps others—that all would resign if even one were removed by then-President Donald Trump. This is an astonishing admission. It’s essentially an acknowledgement that medical bureaucrats, unelected and unaccountable to the people as they were and are, serving at the pleasure of the White House executive as they did, tried to strong-arm the president of the United States into obeying

Employees of the tech giant Apple are revolting against a plan to get staff back into the office for three days a week, claiming it will make the company “younger, whiter and more male-dominated”. Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, has said his proposed “hybrid working pilot” for US, Europe and UK employees is an attempt to balance the corporate benefits of in-office working with the personal advantages that working from home gives staff members. A group of US-based Apple employees have formed an organisation dubbed “Apple Together” and claim the initiative is “only driven by fear”. The unnamed staff have sent

In a sign that Ukraine's just war for survival against Russian attack is growing more partisan-politicized and subject to domestic U.S. politics, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has turned up in Kyiv, along with six other extemely rabid leftist Democrats. The junketeers met with Ukraine's President Volodomyr Zelensky, who welcomed them warmly, as he always does with assorted political pilgrims these days. According to the Daily Mail: U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has led a congressional delegation to Kyiv to meet with Ukraine's president before heading to Poland for talks with officials there on Sunday.

Asa Hutchinson, who is term-limited, said he believes the country has to move beyond Trump, who has yet to officially announce whether he intends to run again.Asked on CNN’s “State of the Union” about a potential bid for the White House, Hutchinson told host Dana Bash: “I am. But of course you’ve got to get through this year. That’s an option on the table.”

Comedian James Corden opened the 2022 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner with a sketch of him taking over the duties of Press Secretary Jen Psaki, which included a cameo from a reporter she regularly clashes with, Fox News' Peter Doocy. The Late Late Show host eagerly took to the podium to take questions from reporters following a briefing with Psaki and President Joe Biden, but the ill-prepared Corden was immediately flanked with complicated questions from reporters. Among them was Doocy, who Biden was recorded calling a 'stupid son of a b****' in January, with Psaki echoing similar remarks earlier this month. Despite the critical comments from them, Doocy played his part
