Hildale, Utah—Marion Timpson’s own marriages reflect Utah’s recent legal battles over polygamy. “I married Holly in 2005 and Katie in 2013, and I married Lisa in 2014,” the polygamist told FOX 13 News, referring to his wives. One of his marriages took place shortly after a federal judge struck down Utah’s anti-polygamy laws. Reality TV polygamist Kody Brown and his wives sued the state and won, effectively decriminalizing plural marriage as a religious belief. (Snip)“Bigamy had been a felony in Utah since 1935 and it clearly didn’t do what the law, I think, or the people who put that law intended it for it do.

There are lots of things I don’t understand about Mormons.
Ok, I really don’t understand AMYTHING about them. And color polygamy near the top of the list.
But since men can marry men and get pregnant, I guess polygamy can be understood and learned.

Geez, I have several men I'd like to marry... I should consider moving to Utah! Can you imagine Mormons having group sex? Really, just imagine...

So sorry that #1 can’t understand ANYTHING about the Mormon church. Considering that the Mormon church is a Protestant sect that believes that Jesus the Christ is the son of God who died and was resurrected to save mankind I guess the poster doesn’t understand ANYTHING about Christianity either. The church, by the way, excommunicates any member who enters into a polygamous marriage. Not too hard to understand that.

But #2, can you imagine having to remove all that magic underwear?

Utah: the state that put Pierre Delecto in the Senate. Everybody point and laugh at Utah.

The biggest problem Utah has right now is the West Coast infestation that is changing the politics of the state. California Marxists are a plague of locusts on the body politic.

are there too many women in Utah? is that why they need polygamy? or was Joseph Smith just one more lascivious western migrant who liked women, lots of women?

In life, here and now in this world; Mormons have the lowest crime rate of any demographic you can find. They have the lowest drug and alcohol addiction rates and the highest rates of charitable giving. Before throwing stones at these very devout Christians 'magical beliefs', ponder criticism of that talking donkey, giants, witches, dragons, and the large fish with a viable internal living habitat (Numbers 22, Genesis 6, Exodus 22, Deuteronomy 32, Matthew 12). Let's not do to others what we don't want done to us.

I lived in Utah several times and worked with a lot of Mormons over the years. Its one of the few places where one can see women out and about who are in their 30's but look like teenage beauty queens being followed in stores by a half dozen kids under 12, all of whom are well behaved. The men all seem to be calm but with an internal rage that wants to break out any second. I always got the feeling I was about to be backhanded.
All in all, no.

After half a lifetime spent in that hellhole called Baltimore (Federal Hill, but, still, a suburb of "Mobtown"), my recent retirement move to St. George (UT) has been like paradise. The LDS people who make up the majority of the population are the most decent you can ever imagine.
....now, Mitt Romney on the other hand.........

Can women have more than one husband (polyandry, as opposed to polygyny) in Utah?
And if not, why not?

Utah has one of the most reprehensible RINOs serving in the United States Senate. That's all I need to know about that state.

To all you folks spouting nice things about Utah and Mormons, please shut up. California, who previously promised to boycott us, is not fleeing here in droves. We kept them away for a generation with Leftist, late-night-talk-show snark about us. If anymore people find out how great we are, we're doomed. If you can't say something awful, don't say anything at all.

Utah, which bestowed Pierre Delecto on the nation, is in dire need of Somali diversification. Let's hope the LDS church "participates" in the federal refugee relocation program the way the compromised Catholic and the compromised Lutheran church charities do.
