At Easter the Little Petra guesthouse in the heart of Jerusalem’s Christian quarter should be bustling with pilgrims. Instead, the only ‘guests’ are a group of Jewish settlers who, judging by the charred double doors leading to what was the hotel’s souvenir shop, look like they checked in with cutting equipment. But this is not just an unholy squabble over expensive real estate between Christian and Jewish communities in the old city. It’s part of what Jerusalem’s church leaders believe is an existential threat to all Christians in the cradle of the faith.(Snip)‘An exodus of Christians will turn us into Disneyland,’ says the Anglican Archbishop of the city,

I’d like to know what the ultra-leftist woke Archbishop of Canterbury has to say about the diminished Christian community in the UK.
Israel has been on my bucket list for decades but in this atmosphere, along with covid air travel restrictions, I will probably never get there.
Never the less, Happy and Blessed Easter, everyone!

Followers of the Messiah were scattered abroad after the Resurrection from Jerusalem by the Jews, 2,000 years ago. Same story today.

# 3- Insuggest you get your history straight. At the time of the destruction of the 2nd Temple in 70-72 AD your messiah was not yet remotely recognized as such. Sorry.

And the so-called "Leader of the Free World", defender of democracy worldwide, will do what in the face of this religious intolerance? Meanwhile, domestic politics apparently stymie any action of the Israeli government, if there was any desire to deal with a problem. Maybe the solution is to reduce US financial support to Israel, with a potential for sanctions. That's not anti-Semitic; it's a defense of religious rights at a most critical place and time. Given recent history, Israel has no moral choice but to act to end this apparent bigotry.

# 5; If you’re talking about the unbelieving Jews, you are correct. I wrote from a believer’s viewpoint. See 1st Peter 1;1

This is absolute horse poo poo of an article.
The Christian site (e,g. Bethlehem) are all in the PA. The Muslims have systematically ethnically cleansed the Christians from the PA. It has zero to do with Israel.
The Christian population in Israel (typically Arab) is the wealthiest and most educated demographic in Israel.
Israelis, according to numerous studies, have high respect and esteem for Christian pilgrims and all know the country depends on Christians to survive.
Now. are there plenty of idiots in all religious groups? Sure. Sirhan Sirhan comes to mind.

If there are two words or phrases that are nowhere close to each other, it would be ''Holy Land'' and Disneyland. The writer is just trying to turn a sensitive story into some sort of Hollywood Slap-fest.

I was in Israel on business just before the pandemic and took a side trip to Jerusalem. An absolutely stunning experience.
Like every place on earth with limited real estate, prices are skyrocketing. Not unlike what we see as gentrification or “changing” urban neighborhoods here in the US, existing residents are being uprooted.
The laws of money apply even in the Old City.

So too is America turning into Disneyland, we share your pain. It's not just attacks from the outside, we have had priests, rabbis and ministers close places of worship down due to a head cold. The Christians in ancient Rome held mass under the threat of crucifiction or being fed to lions. That is what real faith looks like.
