Twitter employees enjoy 'day of rest'
after getting 'super stressed' by Elon Musk

The employees of the Twitter social media platform are taking a Monday siesta following the tumultuous upheaval brought on by the introduction of Tesla’s Elon Musk as a shareholder. The previous plan was for the company to host a town hall between Musk and staff, to ensure everyone was on the same page about the business agenda going forward. But that has changed now that Musk isn’t going to be on Twitter’s board of directors. "Employees have a previously-scheduled day of rest today, which is well-timed, as the vibe is super stressed, they tell us," said Sarah Frier of Bloomberg. The vibe described within Frier’s article on the matter

Liberals always seem to get all in a "twitter" when anyone challenges their beliefs. They cannot comprehend that anyone might think differently than they do. Now Elon Musk comes along and their liberal utopia is threatened and they don't know what to do. Does Twitter have Safe Spaces in their offices where these snowflakes can go so they will not melt down?

A hostile takeover by Elon can now potentially occur. Choosing not to sit on a board allows him to buy more interests in Twitter. From what I have read, Elon sitting on the board prevented his ability to buy any more interests in the company. Was the choice not to sit on the board a move to eventually obtain more control of Twitter? That is what the employees should be asking themselves. Personally I don’t see at this point in time them having a sigh of relief. I think his move would raise more concerns with employees then if he were sitting on the board. I guess time will tell. It is hard to believe he did not know this prior to accepting the invitation to sit on the board. Yes time will tell.

Millions of New Yorkers began their commutes to work and school on Wednesday morning as law enforcement officers continued searching for the gunman who shot 10 people on a subway train during yesterday’s morning rush hour. The manhunt ramped up for 62-year-old Frank R James, who police have identified as a “person of interest” in the mass shooting, but who Mayor Eric Adams on Wednesday said was a suspect. Police found a key to a U-Haul van at the scene which authorities said James rented in Philadelphia, as well as a 9mm semiautomatic handgun and extended magazines, a hatchet, fireworks, a liquid believed to be gasoline,

The Biden administration will extend the public transportation mask mandate for two weeks, a source familiar with the matter told the Associated Press. The mask mandate currently applies to air travel and public transportation, including trains and buses. The mandate was set to expire on April 18, however the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will extend it for two weeks while monitoring for a potential rise in severe Covid cases, the source told the AP. White House COVID-19 response coordinator Ashish Jha said on Monday that an extension was “absolutely on the table” because of the spread of an Omicron sub-variant.

We’re still waiting to find out if President Joe Biden will allow the mask mandate for public travel to expire on April 18th or if he will extend it yet again. While he’s making his decision, he might want to take a peek at a new Axios/Ipsos poll that was just released this week. They asked Americans a variety of questions about how serious the threat from COVID was at this point and if the pandemic was still a major driving concern. While it may come as a great surprise to some people, particularly inside the White House and among cable news hosts

Police announced earlier that Frank R. James was a “person of interest” in the Brooklyn subway attack in which at least 10 people were shot and at least 13 others were injured. The police have not yet said whether or not they believe he is the shooter in the attack. They believe James rented a U-haul vehicle they have connected to the attack. Police describe how they worked it out. The attacker used a smoke bomb inside a subway car in Brooklyn and then shot people in the car. The suspect was described as a 5’5″ black male, heavyset, in a green construction vest and a gray sweatshirt.

He argues that even if the Democrats are able to maintain their average edge in popular vote over the next two cycles, Republicans are likely to gain strong control over the Senate: Overall, the combination of decreasing incumbency advantage and a poor national environment for Democrats means we should probably expect Democrats

This week, America received news of yet another shocking inflation report: over the past 12 months, inflation has skyrocketed 8.5%, outpacing wage gains by 2.9%. That inflation has flooded every area of American life, from gas (up 48%) to airfare (24%) to furniture (16%) to milk (13%). Inflation is costing the average American family hundreds of dollars per month — and, as we know, inflation is a highly regressive tax, harming those at the bottom of the income spectrum the most. For its part, the Biden administration blames Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. White House press secretary and incipient MSNBC employee Jen Psaki announced

Gov. Kathy Hochul rushed to the microphones Tuesday to reassure New Yorkers following the Brooklyn subway shootings. She should’ve stood in bed. Out tumbled a jumble of half-thoughts, unfocused and haltingly delivered, underscoring what has been apparent for some time now — which is that New York’s latest accidental governor would be out of her depth in a Buffalo mud puddle. Which, in a manner of speaking, is where she came from. Hochul’s horrible day also included news that her handpicked, staunchly defended lieutenant governor, Brian Benjamin, had just been arrested on federal corruption charges. Benjamin would be gone by day’s end, of course, but the matter will linger.

A 62-year-old man has been identified as a person of interest in the savage Brooklyn subway attack that injured at least 29 people Tuesday morning, officials said. Frank James rented a U-Haul van tied to the N train attack in Sunset Park and is being sought for questioning, police said at an evening briefing. The key to the van was found at the scene of the crime, as was a credit card that rented the vehicle out of Philadelphia, cops and law-enforcement sources said. It is unclear if James is the suspected gunman, the department said. Authorities said 10 of the injured commuters had been wounded by gunfire.

While cases were rare, the findings caused concern, with risk of such heart inflammation among the reasons cited by experts in the UK for the delay in expanding the vaccination programme to children.
