Chaos In the White House [Updated]

I wrote yesterday about Joe Biden’s Warsaw speech in which, at the end, he called for regime change in Russia: “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power.” Predictably, that seemingly unscripted outburst has provoked a crisis in international relations. The Washington Post headlines: “How Biden sparked a global uproar with nine ad-libbed words about Putin.” Because the WaPo story is behind a paywall, and because Ann Althouse’s comments on the incident and WaPo’s coverage are interesting, I am going to quote from Ann’s site, identifying the Post’s reporting (WP) and Althouse’s comments (AA) for clarity. The Post writes: WP: It was a remarkable statement that would reverse stated U.S. policy, directly countering claims

WE the People should be raising chaos in the streets. I demand this dangerously diminished president be removed from office BEFORE he does something unintended but irretrievably damaging to OUR COUNTRY! I would not be afraid of Kamala - her reputation and track record are so flawed that even the Dems would keep her on a short leash, and her every word and move would be under a microscope.

You could say bidet is just a liar. That would be true. But he has lied all his life in a very self serving way. He has always skated, has never been held accountable, never been held to the truth. “That’s just joe” they used to say. Words are just a magic spell for him. He can have that amtrak friend, go to iraq 300 times, fight kornpop, take Trump out behind the gym. Anything. Remove Putin. He has a problem. He was never a leader, never fit to be in a leadership position. He is two steps removed from reality. The dimokkkrap party should be abolished for its role in slavery and institutional racism, and for allowing this spuge to be a candidate.

Expect a few of the Demented Fuhrer's handlers, Ron "Kommandant" Klain and Susan "Rat" Rice, to reunite the Fuhrer with index cards and teleprompters written by the cockroaches employed within the WH. They cringe when someone asks the Fuhrer a question.

When the media reported that Trump's White House was in chaos it was always based on anonymous insider talk, and I stopped believing any of it. In this case the chaos is right out in the open. Biden will say something and named White House officials contradict it.

Let's back up for a second. What Biden did was express the very thoughts several have posted here. He stopped short of assassination, which some here have clearly advocated for Putin. The US involved itself in a mess that has nothing to do with American vital interests. Nothing. Russia and Putin are boob bait for American politicians. They are threats to everyone that need to be stopped. The evidence (propaganda) indicates they are stopped - due to brave Ukrainian resistance or military incompetence. Either way, the Russians prove again they are not up to fighting an offensive war unless the enemy is exhausted and in retreat. Their soldiers are hardly ten feet tall. But that's necessary to the narrative. The real problem isn't Joe. It's NATO and our standing as the "Leader of the Free World", the military stooge holding that security umbrella over the effete Euros. But we cannot admit our role...as stooge. China is moving ahead with its foreign policy without placing troops or otherwise coercing anyone with bullets. They use what we waste as "ammunition"...money. Their Belt and Road Initiative is highly successful in buying friends while actually providing economic wherewithal to more than half the countries around the globe. When will we get it? Not after Panama expanded its canal. Not after the Mexicans take the money without actually signing on. We'd rather spend that money on our military and duke it out with the Russians. And that's not just Joe Biden. Let's take President George Washington's advice and end these perpetual alliances while avoiding foreign intrigues that commit us to involvement where we have no purpose. We can defend "democracy" here at home right now.

People vote most sincerely when they vote with their feet. One of the basic realities of our time, transcending and perhaps ultimately overwhelming many of our current political debates, is that people are fleeing blue states and moving to red states. What states are in decline? California, New York, Illinois, Minnesota. What states are prospering? Texas, Tennessee, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah. And above all, Florida. Current Census Bureau data speak for themselves: Four of the nation’s top 10 metro areas with the highest population growth last year were in Florida — more than any other state, according to new US Census data. *** In addition, two Florida counties

The Walt Disney Company has come out against Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill after it was signed into law on Monday by the state’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis. The company has been beset with controversy from within as its left-leaning workers staged a walkout to protest management’s initial reluctance to denounce the measure while its conservative employees urged higher-ups to stay neutral on hot-button political issues.“Florida’s HB 1557, also known as the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, should never have passed and should never have been signed into law,” reads the statement from Disney, which posted the message on its corporate Twitter feed Monday. “Our goal

The Oscars saw an uptick in audience numbers following last year's award shows, but the numbers were still down from previous years. The award show drew 13.73 million viewers and received a 2.9 rating among adults 18-49, based on fast national ratings from Nielsen. A more detailed estimate is expected Tuesday, with elements like out-of-home viewing added. However, the preliminary numbers show a dramatic increase from the 2021 Oscars. The numbers for last year's show were the lowest ever with 10.4 million viewers and a 2.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Sunday's Oscars show is still the second-least watched show for the Academy since the mid-1970's, when Nielsen began tracking the numbers.

Washington - President Joe Biden said Monday that he would make “no apologies” and wasn’t “walking anything back” after his weekend comment that Russian President Vladimir Putin “cannot remain in power.” The president also insisted he’s not calling for regime change in Moscow. “I was expressing the moral outrage that I felt toward this man,” Biden said. “I wasn’t articulating a policy change.” The president’s jarring remark about Putin, which came at the end of a Saturday speech in Warsaw that was intended to rally democracies for a long global struggle against autocracy, stirred controversy in the United States and rattled some allies in Western Europe.

We’ve been watching the fallout of Biden’s gaffe about regime change in the Soviet Union Russia, but it is hard to top today’s headline in the Wall Street Journal for droll understatement: The story includes this similarly droll bit of “reporting”: It wasn’t clear if Mr. Biden’s statement was designed to send a message to Mr. Putin and the international community, or simply a verbal misstep. All of which brings us to the stunning new poll result out from the well-respected—and Democrat-connected—Iowa Poll, whose most recent nationwide survey finds Biden’s overall approval rating at 34 percent. This is very nearly Nixon-on-the-eve of resignation territory, or George W. Bush

Washington - With the last nine, unscripted words of an impassioned speech about Russia’s aggression in Ukraine, President Joe Biden created a troubling distraction, undermining his effectiveness as he returned home to face restive Americans who strongly disapprove of his performance on issues that matter most to them. His comment that Russia’s Vladimir Putin “cannot remain in power” — an assertion that his aides were forced to quickly clean up — overshadowed his larger message of solidifying the Western coalition that’s confronting Moscow. It punctuated another frustrating moment for an administration that’s struggled to regain its footing

After weeks of progressive backlash and corporate protest from the Walt Disney Company, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has signed into law the Parental Rights in Education bill prohibiting the instruction of sexual orientation and gender identity in elementary school classrooms. Dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill by critics, the law is intended to restore power to parents to determine when and how their children should learn about such sensitive subjects. Rather than a bigoted effort to ostracize LGBTQ students and faculty, the bill is explicit that it is designed to keep conversations about sexuality out of kindergarten through third-grade classrooms.

A document released by the White House yesterday indicates that Joe Biden will be asking for a new “Billionaire’s tax” to be included in the budget, setting a minimum tax rate of 20% on some of the wealthiest Americans. But as with most everything that emerges from the swamp these days, the name of the new tax doesn’t match with what it actually does. The Daily Wire highlighted that Biden’s seemingly off-the-cuff remarks had to quickly be addressed and walked-back by the administration. In one instance, Biden told a group of American troops in Poland that they were going to see the “backbone” and “guts” of the Ukrainian people “when you’re there,” suggesting the U.S. was putting boots on the ground in Ukraine, in contrast with White House statements and talking points.

Is the Constitution inherently racist? Brandon Hasbrouck says yes. In Boston University Law Review article “The Antiracist Constitution,” the Washington and Lee University professor alleges our nation’s founding document “serves white supremacy.” He aids his argument with George Floyd’s death, the Fugitive Slave Act, and the fact that Thomas Jefferson owned slaves. The professor points out a peculiarity: It is June 28, 1776. The Continental Congress orders that Thomas Jefferson’s draft of the Declaration of Independence “lie on the table.” … Jefferson, who enslaves hundreds of people, nonetheless includes an assertion that “all men are created equal.” Moving forward to fugitive slaves: It is September 18, 1850. Congress passes the Fugitive Slave Act…

Republicans are effectively branding the issue as widely Democrat-caused due to calls to abolish police and rhetoric against law enforcement in general. The officials tell Axios that Biden's budget proposal would require $30 billion in new spending over the next decade to expand law enforcement and increase crime prevention.
