A scheduler for Rep. Don Beyer (D-VA) was unceremoniously fired this week after an investigation found that she was also working on behalf of the Chinese embassy to attempt to set up meetings between the embassy and Capitol Hill staffers who were working on bills the embassy wanted to weigh in on. From National Review, which broke the story Friday morning: A source familiar with the situation said that the House sergeant at arms (SAA) notified Beyer’s office on Tuesday that Hamlett had requested meetings with different congressional offices on behalf of people at the Chinese embassy, after staffers in other offices reported being contacted by her.

As we reported, Joe Biden gave a primetime speech last night to the nation. It was his last chance to convince people of what he or the Democrats had done to earn anyone’s vote before the midterm. It was his chance to talk about how he was going to bring down inflation and crime, the two top concerns of the American people. Twitter has notified employees that it will be “reducing our global workforce” on Friday, November 4th, according to an unsigned internal memo seen by The Verge. The confirmation comes a week after Elon Musk became Twitter’s new owner and quickly started changing how the company operates and its product roadmap. Since then, speculation about the timing and scope of the expected layoffs has run rampant inside Twitter.
Employees will receive an email by 9AM PST on November 4th confirming whether they have been laid off or not, according to the internal memo, which also states that employee badge access to Twitter’s offices will be shut off “temporarily.”

The most remarkable finding of the latest Wall Street Journal poll on the mid-term election is the yuuuge swing of suburban women toward the GOP since August:
The new survey shows that white women living in suburban areas, who make up 20% of the electorate, now favor Republicans for Congress by 15 percentage points, moving 27 percentage points away from Democrats since the Journal’s August poll.
That is one whopping move. As the Journal article explains, the shift isn’t just limited to congressional vote preference, but seems to be cascading down ticket.
The Democrats’ blame game has already started one week from the midterm elections, as the party’s leadership begins to point fingers while analysts are predicting the election could be terrible for the one-party hold over Washington, DC.
As analysts predict the Republicans will end the Democrats’ one-party rule in the nation’s capitol by regaining the majority in the United States House of Representatives and potentially the Senate, the left is already starting to point fingers at who will take the fall, multiple establishment outlets reported.

Republican Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake pushed back Wednesday against a Fox News poll finding nearly half of respondents believe she is “too extreme.”
The poll, conducted along with Beacon Research and Shaw & Company, found 47% of respondents are concerned that Lake’s views are “too extreme,” while 42% hold the view about her opponent, Democrat Katie Hobbs.
