President Biden late Friday ordered the release of up to $350 million for military aid for Ukraine. Biden ordered for the money to be allocated from the Foreign Assistance Act "in defense articles and services of the Department of Defense, and military education and training, and to make the determinations required under such section to direct such a drawdown." Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement on Saturday that it represented the country's third drawdown of money to Ukraine in the last year, totaling more than $1 billion. "Ukraine is a sovereign, democratic, and peace-loving nation.

The Russian invasion will be over in a matter of days, or, at most, a few weeks. As fast as the sewer of Washington DC works, that money will be available for Ukraine by August. Jimmy Carter was incompetent. Ovomit was incompetent and evil. Lyin' Joe bidet is incompetent, evil, and senile. Our country is in a lot of trouble. But not half as much trouble as Taiwan, since the Chinese are watching just how impotent bidet is and will be waltzing into Taiwan any day now -- knowing that nobody is going to lift a finger to stop them!!!!

And he will give that to them, as long as they don’t investigate Hunter’s corruption and the 10% for The Big Guy…. Except there won’t be a Ukraine Government to throw money at in another couple days. Does that mean Putin gets the check, or pallets of cash, when he is the new Ukraine government? It’s how Biden treated the Taliban, so… most likely.

I wish my fellow Americans would/could read -- especially history. When the USSR dissolved it was with the assertion that former Soviet States would not be allowed into NATO. They would provide the buffer paranoid Russian leaders desired. But, the West thumbed their collective noses at Moscow and allowed several in. Now, Ukraine wanted in. All if thus could have been prevented by saying NATO would not accept any more former Soviet States. Guess what? Ukraine will never be part of NATO now and at what cost?

Moscow - Nineteen-year-old Tasya stood with her friends on a cold morning in the Russian city of St. Petersburg as they joined protesters’ chants against the Russian invasion of Ukraine: “Nyet Voine!” (“No to War!”). “It’s always safer to stand together with others…to look over your shoulder, in case you need to run,” said Tasya, who asked that her last name not be used for her safety. At some point, Tasya said her friends left the protest to go home or somewhere else to warm up, leaving her standing alone in the street. “Then a group of cops walked past me…and suddenly one of them looked at me and then they turned around,

A former Chicago Park District Attorney is seeking damages from Mayor Lori Lightfoot after an obscene, insulting rant against the attorney and the Chicago Italian-American community came to light. The Park District was responsible for the statue of Christopher Columbus in Arrigo Park that Lightfoot had ordered removed during protests in 2020. They were negotiating with the Joint Civic Committee of Italian-Americans to have the Columbus statue displayed during the annual Columbus Day parade. The statue wasn’t displayed in the Chicago parade but did make an appearance at a suburban event. Ron Onesti, president of that Italian-American group, was in on the negotiations along with two park district attorneys

I have no doubt that both sides are willing to make it a long war. Zelensky and his people have proved they’re willing to die for their freedom. Putin has gambled his legacy on subjugating Ukraine. Neither will blink. Which has the makings of a very long war indeed: Given the durability of the Ukrainian resistance and its long history of pushing Russia back, the U.S. and Western powers do not believe that this will be a short war. The U.K. foreign secretary estimated it would be a 10-year war. Lawmakers at the Capitol were told Monday it is likely to last 10, 15 or 20 years — and that ultimately,

On February 24, the first day of the conflict, a story emerged on Ukraine’s official Twitter channel about an unnamed Ukrainian pilot who allegedly shot down six Russian aircraft within the first 30 hours of the war. The Twitter channel said four more were shot down as of February 26. The pilot, heralded as a hero for his actions, was given the nickname

New York - A judge has rejected an effort by New York’s attorney general to put the National Rifle Association out of business, but will allow her lawsuit accusing top executives of illegally diverting tens of millions of dollars from the powerful gun advocacy organization to proceed. Manhattan Judge Joel M. Cohen said allegations of NRA officials misspending on personal trips, no-show contracts and other questionable expenditures can be addressed by other remedies, such as fines and restitution, and do not warrant the “corporate death penalty” that Attorney General Letitia James had sought. James’ lawsuit, filed in August 2020, tells “a grim story of greed, self-dealing, and lax financial oversight”

A U.S. official tells CBS News that a tactical seizure of Ukraine is possible within the next 4-6 weeks, based on the assessments of what is currently taking place on the ground with the Russian military. As David Martin has reported, it is expected to take one week before Kyiv is surrounded, and another 30 days could elapse before Ukraine's capital is seized. This U.S. official says it is not clear whether Russia would gradually strangle the city or engage in street-to-street fighting. These scenarios were laid out for members of Congress Monday as the initial battle to destroy the Ukrainian military and government. It is also not clear

One year into his presidency, it seems like Joe Biden and the Democrats in Washington, D.C. have sent the country back in time to the late-1970s and early 80s, “when runaway inflation was hammering families, a violent crime wave was crashing our cities, and the Soviet army was trying to redraw the world map,” Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds said Tuesday night, in the official Republican response to Biden’s State of the Union address. Speaking in front of the Iowa state capitol in Des Moines, Reynolds attacked Biden’s international and domestic record, and she made the case for putting faith in the American people. Joe Biden’s State of the Union lingered far too long, but the general theme was made clear within the first 30 minutes: This is a man with no accomplishments and he knows it. Honestly, even as a conservative, I expected more. Biden’s speech was badly written, devoid of memorable moments, and came across as a rehash of everything he’s been saying for the last two years. The applause lines felt painfully manufactured, and the president often stumbled over his words — and that’s when he wasn’t coughing. The first part of the speech focused on Ukraine in an obvious attempt to soften the audience with a topic most agree on.

Mr. Manchin was seen sitting next to GOP Sens. Mitt Romney of Utah and Roger Wicker of Mississippi. He was the only Senate Democrat to sit with Republicans. Seating in the chamber was limited because of ongoing coronavirus restrictions. Mr. Manchin’s office did not respond to requests for comment. The senator’s show of bipartisanship came amid tensions with his party and President Biden over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

It’s a pattern of bias: Whenever Democrats find themselves on the defensive politically over a divisive issue (transgender rights, mask mandates, school shutdowns, even inflation), the New York Times can be relied upon to ride to the party’s defense by flipping the issue, making the Republican Party seem like the unfair aggressor for pointing out and criticizing the controversial Democratic stance. Political reporter Jonathan Weisman complained about the GOP “weaponizing” in an analysis of campaign issues and Democratic prospects for the November elections Friday: “Vulnerable Democrats, Seeking Distance From the Left, Offer a Midterm Agenda.” At least he applied the word “divisive” to the left:

In recent years, a number of parents and grandparents have discovered an alarming trend: children no longer know how to write in cursive. Such a discovery led to a considerable backlash against programs such as Common Core, which many viewed as the culprit squeezing out cursive instruction. Thanks to increased attention on the subject, many states have implemented laws mandating that cursive be taught in school. But what happens when children begin to learn cursive and can’t hold their pencil properly? Amazingly, this is the growing reality in a number of countries. The Guardian explains:
