Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson decided to take the field before Super Bowl LVI to fire up the crowd for the game. It did not have its intended effect. Moments before the Rams and Bengals got set to do battle a cranberry-clad Dwayne Johnson appeared with a microphone and proceeded to let fly with a dozen different cliche big game event opening lines.(Tweet/Video) Twitter did not take kindly to “The Rock’s” best Bruce Buffer impersonation. (Tweets.....)

I liked it. Kinda that old WWF feel without the in your face rivalry. I thought it as a light hearted change to an intense start of the biggest game of the year for the NFL. And it wasn't for me cause I'm an old geezer. It was for the youngster that advertisers want to attract and want to sell stuff to them as spontaneous buyers.

It's why Gawd invented the Mute button on your remote control. Whenever I see him and other Show Bus types I just don't understand all the tattoos. I hate needles. It was an entertaining game. Muted The Rock and the Halftime.

Seen The Rock do that in the WWE many a time so was not surprised by it. Didn't have any problem with it. Used to it I guess.

Except for the game, which for once was not lopsided, the “entertainment/production” was hideous. All of it.

I thought it was a most fitting intro. It's a hard hitting game and the intro was just right in my opinion.

Like Patton Oswalt, The Rock backed a friend but the cancel culture said no. So both abandoned their "friends" in order to remain in with the in crowd. Seth Rogen did the same with his friend but, as I already had a very low opinion of these pukes, nothing has changed. Glad The Rock showed his arse for all to see tonight so there's that.

Most mindnumpingly stupid! I cringed until they finally kicked the damn ball off! Wow! It gets worse every year! Not sure I will ever watch again! Anyone notice that nobody actually hit a QB? It was like girls playing tag! Aweful!

There was a mask mandate in force for all over age 5 in attendence.
But no one was wearing masks at all.
So, the media, to cover for the Left, refused to show shots of the crowd in general.
They only honed in on relatives of players in tight shots, also not wearing masks.
When will this travesty end?

Like much of the NFL Dwayne Johnson, IMHO, is a garbage human being! Haven't been to a game since I refused my "REDSKIN" Season Ticket renewal several years ago...

His new name is The Cranberry. I liked him better when he was married to his first wife. He seemed more humble then.

Who can support a league that has such trash performing at its signature event? I did not watch the game or show and have not watched an NFL game in a couple of years, but if I get a temptation in the future, I will remember this.

Rock like all these elite celebrities will do anything for attention. They post half naked pictures of themselves all over the internet. It is the only way to remind people that they exist. It is really creepy. Of course, it is all about money. Follow the money.

The Super Bowl has always reminded me of an analogy that I really like: 10 pounds of crap in a 1 pound bag. The football game is a nice evening's entertainment...then someone adds 12-15 hours of PRE-PRE-game idiocy...then someone adds another hour of PRE-game idiocy of kids and some old lezzy tennis player running around trying to look and sound WOKE...then the National Anthem (which I love if they have someone who can sing it like it was written...then the flyover..THEN the coin toss...then Dwayne whoever with enormous bi-ceps running around with a microphone yelling at everyone...then football..then a bunch of really dumb ads interspersed with football...then the ridiculous half time show of old broken down rockers...then a little more football...then the silly awarding of the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
As I said 10 pounds of crap in a 1 pound bag = the Superbowl.

We skipped the halftime show. Skipped the day long hoopla. Young man born in a dirt floor shack, raised by a single mother of 8.... Now living the dream playing in the Super Bowl... Would have liked to see the "kid" (Burrow) win, but Stafford languished in Detroit long enough - he deserves a ring. The late game holding call was a little disappointing.

Been a long time since I watched a 1/2 time presentation, and after that piece of crapola 'entertainment' at LVI I'll not be watching another soon...that being said, it was a piece of wonder as to how they got that huge 'rooming house' out onto the field so quickly....but letting those idiots dance on the hoods of the classic cars...not nice...

Did anyone else get the feeling the brick/rock/snowball read exclusively from cue cards? And whoever was flipping the cue cards re-flipped the first cue card and snowball read it again? Also didn't it feel that the halftime show was a bad car commercial? I looked to my wife and asked her when does the show start?

Learned today that this is his schtick from wrestling, which still doesn't answer the question - why was he doing it at the Super Bowl? No Super Bowl has ever been short on hype, no need to add more "celebrities" to the mix, just play the game.

I was plagued by a head cold yesterday so I greased up with Vick's -Vapo Rub and laid down to watch the Superbowl. Couldn't believe the All-Star rassling intro . Did that freak sneak in without asking anyone? I hope that was the case.....
Anyway, I had already decided that I would not watch the Ubangi, cursing half-time presentation -since I was forewarned about the line-up. So I fell asleep during the string of a dozen or so bad , boring , electric vehicle commercials full of mildly recognizable "celebrities" . When I woke up, there were about five minutes left in the fourth quarter. It was a great ending and the BEST Superbowl I've 'watched' since the late 60s.

One would be hard pressed to find two people with bigger egos than Dwayne "the rock" Johnson and AOC. Both seem to pop up anywhere at any time just to be seen.
