The NFL’s dismal number of black head coaches shows a lack of “generic decency” from a league that hasn’t kept its promises, President Biden said in an interview airing Super Bowl Sunday.
“They haven’t lived up to what they committed to and lived up to being open about hiring more minorities to run teams,” Biden told NBC News, referencing the football league’s purported commitments to diversifying leadership. “The whole idea that a league that is made up of so many athletes of color as well as so diverse, that there’s not enough African American qualified coaches to manage these NFL teams, it just seems to me that it’s a standard

How about "competency"? The difference between the scoring record for a season with a GREAT coach and a slightly less great coach can be huge.
I guess, like the military, competence is just unimportant these days. Incompetent folks running everything else....why not sports?

Dooooood...If ya wanna make sports an "Affirmative Action" industry, you need to start with hyping Asians on teams, coaching slots and as Top Admins. SERIOUSLY under represented.
Saw an article not long ago about the 1st, and for a long time ONLY Black NFL referee/linejudge...HE said even though for decades he has tried to interest marginal & former players, from both college and Pro's to come aboard as Officials he has had little to no luck in the endeavor. They do not want to coach or officiate, only "Star" in the show.

The same logic he uses to select a Supreme Court nominee...color over competence. If the most competent person is a person of color, fine...but football teams winning is why they play.

Well, they gave Biden the presidency because of geriatric decency. Maybe I'll sign up for the part of Wonder Woman in her next movie. Nothing matters but equity these days.

The NFL is a business. They are in existence to make money for their team owners and investors. They make a lot more money by winning. So they get the best players and coaches they can, to try to win as much as they can. The only color most of the owners truly care about is green (as in $$$$$).
So I seriously doubt most owners would be willing to shoot themselves in the proverbial feet to hire an affirmative action coach just because of his skin color, when a more qualified coach is available (regardless of his skin color).
Hopefully most of the owners learned their lesson about what going woke cost them a few years ago with the whole "kneeling players" fiasco -- when so many fans turned off the TV and stopped buying tickets. My husband and I haven't watched a down of the NFL in probably 5 years, after being huge Cowboys fans for decades. We don't miss it at all, and certainly won't be watching the Super Bowl today.
I know not-my-president Lyin' Joe biden believes in hiring incompetent people to make a woke statement (just look at his freakshow of a cabinet). And we are all paying the price for that idiocy. I can't see the NFL owners following suit, but, then again, I couldn't care less if they do. It won't affect me in the least!!!

There is NO greater Meritocracy than Sports, the only way to get to the Top, to be the best, is to BE the best, and no one can keep the Best down...nor is anyone even remotely interested in trying to....except through the built in requirements of Fair Play on the field. Even total azzholes make it to the Top, IF they are the Best at what they do.

Why don't blacks just take over every job in the NFL, including the Commissioner. They have most of the jobs already, get it over with. We are dying by a thousand cuts.

What is "generic decency"? Is there a "patented decency"? I hope Biden wasn't trying to say "genetic decency".

The whole point of sports is to win. The reason there are so many black players is because they’re better than another white person in that particular position. They weren’t hired just because they’re black. Get over it, Brandon.

Using the EEOC's method of looking at the racial makeup of a group compared to the population, it seems to me that the black players are 'overrepresented' and thus the NFL is guilty of racial discrimination. EEOC does not care about competency or the ability to get the job done. It's all about RACE.
But, being that 'the numbers' would indicate that it's White people being discriminated against, then the EEOC turns a blind eye.

So let’s go the extra mile and give them the respect they are demanding and call it the NFL Negro Football League. That should clear the air 100%.

OK Joe, I can help you out on this. You, your brother, and Hunter pool all your China money and create a new NFL franchise and then appoint Kammie as head coach.

If the NFL was about racial equity, 13% of the players and coaches would be black. You can look up what it really is.
