The ratings are in for NBC’s first day of coverage for the 2022 Winter Olympics being held in communist China and they are down from the previous year. The network’s coverage in prime-time Thursday for the opening ceremony to kick off the games averaged 7.7 million total viewers, according to a report published Friday by TV Line.com. The Olympic viewership also landed with a 1.3 rating in the coveted demographic of ages 18-49, the outlet noted..While those numbers helped the network lead the night, those numbers are down over the last decade, Outkick’s Clay Travis noted. He appeared to be noting numbers from Sports Media Watch.

I accidently watched the Olympics when changing channels. The picture was on the screen for about a second which was a second longer than I wanted to watch.

I stopped watching the Olympics about the same time I stopped watching the NFL. Lie-beral politics destroyed both of them for me. No interest in the least in either anymore. 20 years ago, I would have said that watching the Olympics and the NFL were two of my favorite things to do. But lie-berals and lie-beralism destroyed both, and they destroy everything they touch!!!

It has been a long time since I cared. The beauty and grace of the skating was sullied by that trailer trash some years back, and I really dont care to cheer on people who hate this country. Not to mention the humiliation of having a great athlete hero like Bruce Jenner decide he's a chick, and the media play along with it. Freak.

I know this is a skewed bias, but every commercial I have seen indicates that men are no longer part of the Olympics. The only atheletes Advertised to compete are female. Nothing against females completion other than I don't care to watch women compete at a poor high school male athletic level. So I have no intention to watch since men are no longer part of the Olympics. I'm sure NBC could care less if I watch. After all, only women, tans gender and ChicCom approved atheletes are to be broadcast now.

A reporter for the Netherlands has been hustled off the air in mid broadcast by a Chinese official and no one is sure why. The whole thing is disgusting.

I am so weary of yet another example of how libs destroy everything they touch. I will not watch one moment of this farce. To even think about allowing the Olympics to go to China is an affront to every soul that has died and suffered from Covid and all its variants. Additionally their human rights violations are appalling and yet the west flocks to worship at the feet of the soulless CCP. The IOC is corrupt and has abandoned the very spirit of the games. It has allowed toxic leftist political thought to permeate the organization and has destroyed what was once a wonderful concept.

I got sick of they Olympics when they started carving the coverage into 10-minute increments followed by minutes of commercials, then changing to a completely different sport. Now that they're in China, I make a point of not watching. I have noticed that just about every channel I've watched lately has promos on NBC's Olympic coverage.

In 20 years the Olympics will be gone, history. Few care today; fewer to none tomorrow. Sport thrives on rivalries. The US audience has no one to root against, or for. There is no "Wide World of Sports" putting skiers, swimmers, track and field competitors and other "minor" athletes in the American public eye. The Russians are shadows of their former selves. The Chinese aren't all that good, with few exceptions. The events are too difficult to follow - have you seen the skating scoring? And to get the heavy leftoid commentary hurts the ears. This run is getting near its end.

There’s no denying the influence various forms of media have on society. Sometimes the effect is benign, like the influence it has on what kind of toothpaste you buy, but sometimes it can have deleterious effects that alter the movement of history. Of course, in human things, pure objectivity may be a goal beyond our reach. Everything we write and read must have some element of bias. We come from particular intellectual traditions, after all, and we are informed by them. But shouldn’t a newspaper ostensibly designed for the mere purpose of delivering the news remain as objective as possible? Shouldn’t we be left guessing about

As part of a new study, Cambridge University experts reviewed a variety of DIY hacks people have used to make masks fit better, including using rubber bands or tape. Curiously, they found the most effective tactic was to wrap pantyhose around the bottom half of the face—on top of a mask.
