San Quentin death row - where California's most macabre and twisted killers were once caged - is being shuttered and converted into a 'positive, healing environment.'The prison ward is seeped in dark history dating back to March 3, 1893 when the first of 215 prisoners was hung. It has since housed notorious murderers including Charles Manson, Richard 'the night stalker' Ramirez, and William Bonin, a serial killer who killed at least 21 young men and boys. It's the current home of Scott Peterson, who was sentenced to death in 2005 for the murder of his wife Laci and their unborn son.

Escape from LA is now a reality show versus a futuristic sci-fi movie. Calling Snake Plisskin! How about a new reality version of big brother starring killers from death row. Lock 100 of them in a secure facility with weapons and only consider release of the sole survivor. Save time and money.

House the death row inmates among the general population? The general population may well view them as a way to get prison 'creds'. Can see the death row inmates becoming targets. The general population may do them in quicker than the legal system. Talk about unintended consequences.

What is interesting is that the minute these collectivists get into unlimited power, prison populations will soar, populated by regular Americans guilty of political crime. They’re lax now. Just wait. And there won’t be any, “death row,” as such, because in the Chinese tradition prison deaths will no longer be the product of judicial sentencing, but cadre fiat.
