"Safe streets worker" (replacing police)
gunned down in Baltimore

Original Article

During the course of the madness that promoted “defunding” or abolishing the police, there was an emphasis placed on replacing police in some circumstances with “community safety” workers who would supposedly act as unarmed “violence interrupters” and reduce the number of lethal use of force incidents by police officers. In Baltimore, Maryland’s violent gang territories, an existing organization known as the “Safe Streets Program” gained a lot of attention and municipal support in this effort. The goal of the program is to deploy former gang members (or “former”) into areas controlled by the gangs to negotiate nonviolent resolutions to conflicts.

Comments:

Elect Dems every year, push 'Defund the Police,' and go soft on crime, and this is what you get. What a shame.

According to street gang law, there is no such thing as a "Former" gang member. Putting them out into the gang's turf is a death sentence.

You see this unarmed police crap in TV series filmed in European countries. The detectives in one show that I watched were constantly getting their unarmed behinds beaten by criminals; it was obvious that they were not taught how to fight either. This Baltimore thing is one more ridiculous and destructive act by fools who think they can will things into being like God. You can't have peace through surrender in a sinful world. In God's utopia (the new heavens and earth) surrendering anything for peace won't be necessary. Idiots.

Another dumb bass idea brought to you by the truly brilliant group of boneheads who run the city of Baltimore. The only thing they did right was use gang members as stooges because the odds of living out your first year in a job like that are just about nil. However, they may be on to something. If you want to give a gang member the death penalty and get around a marshmallow-soft DA, here's a sure way to git er done. Hint: Interrupting violence in a gang fight only makes both sides mad at you.

Quadrupling the police numbers and budget would make no difference. What proof is there that "police presence" stops murders? They show up, clean up, take statements, and leave...to the next. The Community is a social mess that they deny and others cannot comprehend. It tosses opportunity with both hands, enforces self-segregation, allows mal-education of their young, then complains about "social justice". Whatever...

Is An Iron Curtain Closing Around America? 8 replies

Once upon a time in 60’s and 70’s America, public service commercials about *Radio Free Europe” filled our television airwaves. The ads appealed for help for people who were living “behind the Iron Curtain.” Here’s one of the most iconic commercials from that time. If you were a kid living in America, you couldn’t imagine how any country could stifle news and information, crush dissent or persecute dissenters simply for thinking for themselves. Yet, in 2022 America we are seeing a tacit acceptance of exactly that. Did you think you’d ever live to see the day when America would side with Communist Cuba over freedom-fighters who finally stood up

They said the legislation is important for American national security and development of advanced technologies. “The Chinese Communist Party has a chokehold on global rare-earth element supplies, which are used in everything from batteries to fighter jets,” Cotton said in a statement.
