In a major news story, four hostages were freed after a standoff at a synagogue in Texas.
The incident occurred a little before 10:40 a.m. local time, yesterday, when the police received a call about a gunman storming into the Congregation Beth Israel synagogue in Colleyville, near Fort Worth, during morning Shabbat prayers.
The service that was live-streamed via Facebook was eventually taken down.
The terrorist was heard on the livestream demanding the release of Islamist terrorist Aafia Siddiqui who was sentenced to 86 years in prison in 2010 for assault and attempted murder of a U.S. soldier.
When will we learn to stop educating our enemy in the skills of war?!
It would scare you to know how rare it is to have Americans as grad students or PhD candidates in chemical engineering. The smart kids go for the money in a great job market. The others stay to increase their skill level.

86 years? Why would you keep a puke like this alive and encourage this type of crap to begin with? There are plenty of sharks in the world that need to eat. Chum the water and then feed them.

How many more are already here, plotting? How many more are currently sneaking into America via our open borders? The FJB clown car administration has been a total DISASTER on every level. We are no longer safe worshipping, shopping, driving, walking down the street, waiting in a subway. Nor in our homes. Not only do we have to deal with our own loons being put back on the street because of the insane DA's around the country we have to worry that it is 2001 all over again. When are more sane democrats and some of the msm finally going to call the FJB administration idiots out? (That is a rhetorical question.) FJB is a weak kneed dementia riddled shell of a man. And the world knows it and will act upon it.

The folks who talked this "jihadist" into committing suicide by cop must be angry. Their tools are expendable, but they need infidel deaths to make it successful.

I noticed that this AM the ONLY tidbit that they were willing to release (they know it all) is that "the hostage taker is a British citizen". I am about 99% certain that his name isn't John Smythe, or Winston Carrington III, but more likely something like Mohammed Masood, or Ahmed Khawar.
But....in their infinite disinformation campaign....they are desperate to prevent us from knowing.....YEP, another 7th century barbarian Muslim killer from Pakistan, Syria or Iran, or somewhere around there.
The fact that he lived in Britain may mean he is of Pakistani origin, I think that Pakistanis can move to England and claim citizenship, or something like that. Seems that about 1/3 of the folks in southern England are Pakistanis these days.

Also notice that now days, a increasingly common legal defense strategy (used by this Aafia Siddiqui and others) seems to be, "mental illness". Yeah, by any rational, Christian standards, these 7th century violent barbarians would seem to be mentally ill, but they see these violent jihadi actions as their religious duties. It's because they are devout Muslims that they do these things, not because they are crazy....although I suppose some can argue that the two are linked. Are their lawyers arguing that all devout Muslims are "insane"? Probably not a good point to be trying to make in a court of law, if you are a Muslim.

I always found it interesting that Barack Obola, as a teenager, made a trip to Pakistan, (Or Pokeston, as he called it ) and spent several months there.

IIRC, some of the news about this yesterday included the fact that the FBI has dealt with this synagogue before. It is things like this that make me think these events are not random at all. They are set up in a specific way for a reason.

Re #7, and somehow the trip has been deleted from his passport file....or he used a different passport, perhaps under a different name? Lots of weird, unexplained and questionable things in his past.

Don't go anywhere unarmed, not even to church or synagogue. Crazy people have no limits and you should put yours aside in crazy times. This guy was a terrorist but not committed to die along with his victims. We won't be this lucky or have successful negotiators every time.

Excellent point #10. A friend is on the volunteer security team at his church, which I often attend. I am always armed, he and several other on the security team are armed, too. I would guess that there may be a few others in the congregation who are legally armed, too.
Sadly, houses of worship have become targets of violent haters of different stripes these days and you probably have MORE need to be armed in church than many other places. That's a real shame, but we need to take the world as it is, not as we wish it would be.
