Organizing officials for the 2022 Winter Olympics said Tuesday the Games’ host city, Beijing, has no plans to lock down any sections of the capital to prevent the spread of the Chinese coronavirus during the event — scheduled to take place from February 4 through February 20 — despite mounting lockdowns in surrounding areas.
“Beijing won’t need to be sealed off for the Games next month,” Huang Chun, who leads the 2022 Winter Olympics’ coronavirus prevention efforts, told reporters on January 11, adding that a lockdown order for either Beijing or its surrounding province of Hebei remains “off the table” for now.

This New Year is in danger of starting off with a real bang. Russia is poised to invade Ukraine because it can’t think of a better way to solve a major problem. China is flexing its muscles and looking to finally remove the thorn in its side that is Taiwan, now that the US has a woke military and incompetent leadership and can’t intervene effectively. Iran is feverishly working to refine enough uranium to nuke Israel out of existence, clearing the way to make the Middle East safe for its brand of Islam.

House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy told Breitbart News that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has no place in the modern Republican Party and that the big business lobby is not going to be welcome back if and when Republicans are back in power.
McCarthy’s comments came during the latest On The Hill long-form video special, taped in December at an Eastern Market establishment on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. “The Chamber left the party a long time ago,” McCarthy said. “In the last election, the Chamber supported Democrats.

Republican Whip John Thune of South Dakota announced Saturday that he would seek a fourth term in the Senate, following widespread rumors that he would retire from the upper chamber.
Thune is seen as a potential heir to Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and his retirement would have set off a power struggle at the top of the GOP conference. Members from all sides of the conference had expressed support for Thune, with Maine Sen. Susan Collins saying in December that she would be “beside [her]self” if the whip retired.

President Joe Biden appeared to embellish yet again the story of how a lightning strike caused a fire at his home nearly two decades ago.
This time around, he was delivering remarks Friday while in Colorado to survey the damage caused by a rare winter wildfire in the Denver suburbs that destroyed more than 1,000 homes and other buildings last week. "Jill and I have not gone through what you've gone through, but we have had lightning strike our home and almost lose our home," Biden said.
Republicans were quick to chastise Biden.

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) asserted on Wednesday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) shared blame for the riot that occurred on January 6 at the U.S. Capitol.
Stefanik, who serves as House GOP Conference chair, released a statement on the eve of the Capitol breach’s anniversary, thanking law enforcement for their work to control the riotous behavior but condemning Pelosi for ultimately being the one “responsible” for leaving the Capitol prone to attack.

Former President Donald Trump is dominating the Republican Primary in a hypothetical matchup, a Reuters/Ipsos survey found.
They survey asked all respondents, “Thinking about the presidential election in 2024, who would you support as the Republican nominee for president?”Overall, a majority, 54 percent, of Republicans said they would support Trump. Only one other potential candidate garnered double digit support — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who saw 11 percent support. However, that still leaves him 43 points behind the former president.
Former Vice President Mike Pence came in third place with eight percent support, followed by

A shooting this week in the city of Linköping was the 47th fatal shooting so far this year, matching Sweden’s record-high number of shootings that took place in 2020.
This year has continued Sweden’s trend of seeing at least 40 fatal shootings per year since 2017, according to Swedish police statistics. Much of the firearms violence has been linked to organised gang crime which remains a major problem throughout the country. Manne Gerell, associate professor of criminology at Malmö University, spoke about the trend of fatal gun crime, telling broadcaster SVT: “It has varied which part of the country has had the highest level,

The current administration just announced that they are going to provide 500 million test kits for Covid. These kits will be distributed to the general public somehow and will test for something in some way associated with Covid.
Pardon my skepticism, but I have to wonder just what they will be testing, and what will they do with the results. After all, the CDC recently withdrew their request to the FDA for emergency use authorization for the PCR Covid test. For most of the last two years, this test has been considered the Gold Standard for distinguishing between an active Covid infection,

An online poll conducted by the staunchly left Guardian newspaper seeking nominations for “Person of the Year” has been turned off sparking speculation it was shut down when author J.K. Rowling took the lead.
The poll was launched on December 15 and posed a simple question: “Who would be your 2021 person of the year, and why?” It can be found here. As of Wednesday it was no longer live, sparking furious speculation from a number of sources that the fact author J.K. Rowling was such a dominating choice the outlet had no option left other than to stop accepting nominations.

It’s unclear to me why any families would be planning a tourist trip to New York City with all of the garbage going on there these days, but there are reportedly still people making the journey. For those who do so with younger children, an unpleasant surprise was awaiting them. Anyone attempting to go out for dinner at a restaurant or most any other indoor venue with children between the ages of five and eleven found that they were being turned away unless they provided proof that their children had received at least one vaccination against COVID.
