Eleven North Carolina voters filed a challenge to block GOP Rep. Madison Cawthorn from running for reelection in 2024, saying his actions on January 6, 2021, disqualified him from occupying the role. Cawthorn, who represents North Carolina's 11th congressional district, made baseless claims about the 2020 election at the "Save America Rally," which preceded the Capitol riot. In a challenge submitted to the North Carolina State Board of Elections on Monday, lawyers representing the 11 voters argued that Cawthorn's actions before and on January 6, 2021, violated the 14th Amendment. The amendment, which was adopted in 1869, says that no

Comments:

From the Democracy in Danger crowd - desperately trying to rig the election, It's worth noting some media reports downplay that only 11 people are behind this stunt and simply say North Carolina voters want to oust Cawthorn.

If they want to oust Cawthorn, they can try it in a primary, or in the general election. Anything else is illegal, unless he's convicted of illegal activity, and even then, it seems to me some Democrats have served from inside jail cells.

Saving democracy by having the will of 11 rabid leftists trump a quarter million Republican voters. Everything they love about democracy they learned for Joseph Stalin. These 11 aren't the smartest Rats on their sinking ship. "Baseless" as a legal condition gives him legal standing to subpoena and question under oath everything that can be used to support his position. Democrats have gone full court press to stop any legal scrutiny. This can topple their house of cards.

If the leadership (so-called) of the GOP doesn't recognize by now the necessity of engaging in fierce battle with the leftists, they are terminally stupid, and should be shown the door. Gear up & fight, you losers! Leftists have decided that you/we will do battle; you/we have no choice. The only decision is whether or not we intend to win, and win decisively.

To my knowledge, NONE of those incarcerated (illegally) for activities they allegedly participated in om January 6 have been charged with insurrection, sedition or "rebellion." IF Cawthorn had participated in any of these activities then, he would likely be incarcerated. Instead, Democrat shysters are driven to harass him since he is not in imprisoned. Democrats are unscrupulous.

MINNEAPOLIS – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers say they have confiscated bushmeat multiple times since December at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. CBP said officers seized over 100 pounds in the last week of December from U.S. citizens returning from Liberia. The trend “could have deadly effects and lead to another outbreak of disease,” a release said. New York - Americans shopped less in December, causing the first drop in retail sales since the summer. Sales dropped 1.9% compared with November, adjusted for seasonal swings, the Census Bureau reported Friday. The decline in sales coincided with the surge in Covid cases due to the highly infectious Omicron variant. In July, the last time sales dropped, it was on the back of cases rising due to the Delta variant. Restaurants and bars registered a 0.8% decline in sales in December as people stayed home to protect themselves against the virus, for example. But there was more at play than

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden is planning to sign executive actions on police reform as early as this month, three people familiar with the plans said, as his administration seeks to unilaterally jumpstart an issue that’s a top priority for a key constituency. The executive actions would follow Biden’s uphill battle to advance voting rights legislation, and could coincide with a similar effort by some Democratic lawmakers to revive the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, which stalled on Capitol Hill after failed attempts to craft a bipartisan measure. The focus on police reforms is part of what appears to

“Annus horribilis,” a Latin term that means “horrible year” is a term once famously deployed by the Queen of England to describe 1992, a tumultuous year upon which she declared she would not regard fondly. Given current trends, the same label may yet apply to the year 2022, as inflationary pressures scorch U.S. consumers at a rate not seen in decades, souring the political fortunes of a U.S. president barely a year into his term. It’s also conspiring to make a tough job even tougher for the Federal Reserve chairman he’s recommending for a second term. On Wednesday, data showed

Inflation has become one of the top economic issues in the U.S., and the Biden administration is acting accordingly with various policy actions. U.S. consumer prices rose 0.5% in December and 7.0% on a year-over-year basis, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It's the fastest rate since 1982. Two of the biggest drivers of price spikes over 2021 have been in food and energy which is likely the reason the White House has focused on both of those sectors both for inflation as well as antitrust reasons. Tying the two issues together is not without critics, even among Democrats.
