Former President Donald Trump is banking on a Washington Post interview with the chairman of the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol to back a key claim in his case before the Supreme Court. In an interview published last week, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson, Mississippi Democrat, told the Post that the committee’s findings into Mr. Trump’s inaction as a mob of his supporters stormed the Capitol could lead to a criminal referral to the Department of Justice. “That dereliction of duty causes us real concern,” Mr. Thompson told the Post. “And one of those concerns is that whether or not it was intentional, and whether or not

Wasn't Trump's job to send security, though he would have if Pelosi and Turtle would have requested it. However they denied ALL requests for extra security from the CapPolice. This is on Pelosi and Turtle Bennie, no getting around that.

I wonder if there has ever been a time in the past when a Congressional Committee comprised entirely of members one party plus two members openly hostile to the accused conducted an investigation of a person of the opposite party. The basic principals of American justice are compromised entirely. This could only be conceived in the deranged minds of Pelosi and Cheney. It is laughable.

Criminal prosecution would work towards their primary reason for the commission, but it is not the primary reason. The real reason and purpose for the commission is to distract the public from the disastrous, far-left agenda of the democrats, and the stumbling, bumbling incompetence and willful misconduct by which it is being pursued, just long enough for them to get it passed into law. Just one year into it, and here's what they've already accomplished: 1. allowed hundreds of thousands of Americans to die from Covid19, rather than allow the use of proven therapeutics 2. compromised the immune systems of 200 million Americans through its mandates of experimental, vaccines that not only don't work, but cause serious side effects 3. destroyed the economy through supply chain disruptions, a war on domestic oil production, and the highest rate of inflation in American history; 4. further divided the nation along lines of race and sexual identity 5. gift-wrapped a multi-billion dollar, latest-tech forward-operating air base in Afghanistan to Communist China 6. discarded the US Constitution in favor of censorship, political partisanship, and criminally negligent incompetence.

Under the separation of powers clause, the Executive Branch can't interfere with the Legislative Branch in its own running of its own territory. Technically the Capitol police are under the auspices of the Speaker of the House. Like a private security firm --- in order to be hired in any capacity you have to be connected to a congressman or senator. No civil service test! Had Trump actually called out the National Guard --- they'd claim he was trying a real coup d'eta! This whole thing is to get Trump on a legal charge of malfeasance ---- as conviction of a felony bars you from public office.

Whatever they say about January 6th, cannot erase what I saw “live” and what I recorded on our TV! President Donald J Trump requested National Guard troops several days ahead of the 6th. It was turned down by Nanzi AND the mayor of DC. On that day, after the barricades were down, Capitol police held the doors open on the lower levels while Patriots and middle-aged grannies took selfies in OUR House. Meanwhile, on the top level, rubber bullets and mace and other aerosols were dispensed by the same police. The activity and video in the West tunnel is now out. Explain that, Nanzi!!! Why are the milquetoast RINOs silent??? We have a Republic to save!

With one of de Blasio’s two Park Slope houses rented out and the other undergoing extensive remodeling, sources said he would be relocating to the Marriott hotel in downtown Brooklyn. It’s unclear how long de Blasio plans to stay there. It was not clear who is paying for the hotel stay.

His successor, Angela Merkel, reversed her decision to extend the lifetime of Germany’s nuclear plants in the wake of the 2011 Fukushima disaster in Japan and set 2022 as the final deadline for shutting them down.
