While some US Catholic bishops continue to denounce President Joe Biden for his support of legal abortion, their conference as a whole is likely to avoid direct criticism of him at its upcoming national meeting. The highest-profile agenda item is a proposed “teaching document” about the sacrament of Communion. Months of work on the document, by the conference’s Committee on Doctrine, coincided with sometimes heated debate among the bishops as to whether Biden and other Catholic politicians who support abortion rights are unworthy of receiving Communion.A draft of the document circulating ahead of the Nov. 15-18 meeting in Baltimore breaks little new ground,

By all means avoid direct criticism. Too many taxpayer dollars at stake for Catholic Charities.

In the worldly Catholic Church these days it depends on who you are that exempts you from what you do. Especially if you are in a financial situation where you can hand that Church a lot of money. Too bad. When you get to the other side, chances are the Spiritual Church will be a lot different.

The pope didn’t reprimand him and supposedly called him a “Good Catholic” who should continue to receive communion. So why would the bishops call him out?

Whims. Jesus would not have caved!
The bishops should teach that there is a hell. And souls will be there!

The Church's hierarchy seems to be invested in making Catholics who ardently defend human life look like a fringe group. This puts a target on their backs.

Speaking as a pretty much disgusted Catholic, dodging this Biden/communion (add Pelosi to that as well) business would be the very last straw!!!!!!! Rules for thee but not for me....if I am an "important" supposedly Catholic pro abortionist. The hypocrisy is staggering and NOT what the CHURCH needs now---just watching the Pope cozy up to those two in private audiences, filmed yet, is disgusting.

As a Catholic, I was taught by the Sisters of St. Joseph that there is no middle ground when it comes to mortal sins.
And is anyone really believing that Pope Marxist I told Biden to continue to receive Communion? No member of the clergy ever says that.
They say, go and sin no more.
So Dementia Jo spun a lie, consistent with his history of lying, exacerbated by his dementia.
And I continue to wonder why Adulterous Jill never converted to Catholicism. Was her barrier her divorce?

I am sick over what my Church has become. I know I shouldn’t be surprised as all institutions walk the path of corruption once they are big enough, but still…

Excuse me, but this propaganda is from the AssPress who want the bishops to remain silent. The bishops meeting hasn't even started!
The vote to draft the teaching on receiving Communion was approved by a 2/3rd majority of bishops. The "liberal" bishops are vastly outnumbered. Biden is the only person reporting what the Vatican "thinks" or even what pope Frank said to him.
Christ didn't promise that His Church would never know corruption, He only promised that the gates of hell would not prevail. Not unlike our dear country, the Catholic hierarchy has also been infiltrated by progressive Marxists. As there are patriots doing all they can to fight the interlopers in our government, there are good bishops who will stand strong for the dignity of life and the Holy Eucharist.
I believe many will be quite surprised by the teaching letter adopted later this month. Its scope goes far beyond public figures like Biden and Pelosi. It includes the laity, those good Catholics that vote for pro-abortion candidates and policies under the mask of "not being able to tell another what to do, and I support all the other policies promoted." This dodge will no longer be accepted and people will be called out for supporting the mortal sin of abortion; perhaps indirectly but support just the same. I imagine this will cause much consternation in the pews. It will blow the abortion debate into the stratosphere.
And the AssPress wants you to think there is nothing to see here. Ha!

Too many Catholics have placed their priorities on the wrong religion.
They have made the democrat party their priority over Catholicism.
They go to Church on Sunday and vote democrat on Tuesday.
IMO they are wasting their time on Sunday.

I did not write a check for the Annual Appeal this year, largely due to the cowardice of the American Bishops. Next year's check is not looking good.
