Spin Job: ‘Things Are Better In This

Forget about that crazy high inflation, those sky-high gas prices, and the empty shelves at your local grocery store: to White House chief of staff Ron Klain, everything’s great. Klain made his claim in an interview with “The Lead With Jake Tapper,” in which Tapper asked President Joe Biden’s right-hand man about inflation, noting that “it’s at a 30-year high” and “up 6.2%. That’s worse than had been feared.”“Well, look, I do think, as I said, Jake, things are a lot better in this country than they were a year ago, with regard to COVID, with regard to the economy, but we have a lot of work left to do,”

So what exactly is better? The Democrats no longer trying to destroy the president? That is better but they are still obsessed with destroying Donald Trump. The Democrats holding up budgets and overspending to make to liberal progressives happy? Nope, that is worse than ever. It is just OK now as the Democrats are in charge. The media hatefest towards the president is gone but it has been replaced by a willful blindness to all of the division and problems that the current body occupying the office of president is causing. The only thing that might be better is no mean tweets by the president. Actually, we could use a few good mean tweets by the President right now addressing some of the nations problems like illegal immigration, inflation, supply chain issues, labor shortages, and a general malaise not felt since the Jimmy Cater years.

I learned some Latin on this website earlier today: Ipse dixit. Literally it means, "He himself said it." And it is used to assert proof without evidence. (It reminds me of a parent saying, "Because I said so!") Ispe dixit regarding this claim. Ipse dixit. It's a fallacy. Thank you, whoever brought this expression to my attention. It fits so often with what the Left says.

And I should say it amazes me how disingenuous the msm is in ignoring the truth in the matter, but it doesn't. Kyle Rittenhouse on Tuesday morning picked his final 12 jurors by pulling assigned numbers out of a raffle-style drum. With 18 jurors left, the defendant was asked to randomly pull six scraps of paper from all the assigned numbers of the jurors. The six he drew were asked to be alternates, who will likely not be used, the judge said, but could be in theory. (Tweet) The leftover 12 will decide the fate of Rittenhouse, who’s on trial for double homicide and has pleaded not guilty to all counts, citing self-defense.

Joe Biden managed to drag the infrastructure bill across the line. It’s really the only thing he’s done so far that he could even argue as a win to his base. Of course, to most on the right, it’s just one more boondoggle to support the Democratic agenda and Biden was only able to get it with the help of Republicans. But how is the signing of it playing generally with the public? While many support the bill because they know the U.S. needs help with infrastructure, they’re not giving Biden or Democrats any bump in the polls from the passing of it.The House passed the bill earlier this month,

The jury has now begun deliberating whether or not to convict the teenage gunman, whose case has divided the nation. Rittenhouse, now 18, was 17 when he shot dead two white BLM protesters at a riot in Kenosha, Wisconsin, last August, and injured a third. His lawyers say he was a scared boy acting in self-defense, eager to protect the town as it fell under siege from an angry mob.
