It was, of course, only a matter of time. With his passing in February of this year, there would inevitably be a last issue of Rush Limbaugh’s monthly magazine – The Limbaugh Letter. That issue has just arrived in my mail box – not the electronic one but the snail mail one as the magazine was indeed quite physical. As a subscriber to Rush 24/7, I was a subscriber to The Limbaugh Letter. It would arrive in the mail every month like clockwork, with Rush’s latest musings for the magazine written in about 16 concise pages. That the magazine has been kept going

Let me quote myself from a post published May 8 about the danger of people showing up at the justices’ homes: “[I]n the current political context, a fanatic has more motive to kill one of the Court’s conservatives than just satiating his or her rage. The man who traveled to Maryland to try to kill Justice Brett Kavanaugh has been identified as Nicholas John Roske, from Simi Valley, California. He apparently made it to Justice Kavanaugh’s house before being apprehended:

The Department of Homeland Security’s ill-fated disinformation board would have been part of an effort to work with private social-media platforms to police their content, two senators revealed Wednesday, citing new documents provided to them by a whistleblower.
The documents described the issues that led DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to want to create the board. Among them were such heated topics as debates over the coronavirus pandemic and efficacy of vaccines, and what Homeland Security described as “conspiracy theories about the validity and security of elections.”

Roske, 26, of Simi Valley, Calif. was identified as the suspect in an affidavit unsealed Wednesday afternoon. Roske told law enforcement that he called 911 to turn himself in because he was having suicidal thoughts, also telling the operator that he intended to kill a “specific” Supreme Court justice, according to the affidavit.
