UCHealth denies kidney transplant to unvaccinated
woman in stage 5 renal failure

A Colorado woman with stage 5 renal failure is scrambling to find a new hospital to perform a kidney transplant after a health system in the state denied the transplant due to her and her donor being unvaccinated against the coronavirus. "Here I am, willing to be a direct donor to her. It does not affect any other patient on the transplant list," Jaimee Fougner, Leilani Lutali’s kidney donor, told CBS4. "How can I sit here and allow them to murder my friend when I’ve got a perfectly good kidney and can save her life?"

Comments:

I wonder if the their lawyers feel that they have no liability when refusing healthcare. I have been denied healthcare and this is getting out of hand.

This woman has a health condition that should exempt her from the vaccine entirely. What kind of medicine do these people practice?

One of the Fox commenters had this one, which is pretty much the point: The covid mortality rate for a transplant is 20% but the mortality rate for her not having a transplant is 100%.

This is the next frontier on our descent into complete tyranny. High surcharges on health insurance for people who do not want this shot, and refusal of service by health providers. On the other hand, Pfizer and Moderna are making a killing.

If the mortality rate for transplant patients who get Covid is 20 or 30 percent, then the prudent course for Jaimee Foughner is to get the vaccine. Any risk of harm from the vaccine is outweighed by the risk of death from Covid after the kidney is transplanted The woman says she won’t get the vaccine due to religious reasons. What an earth does that mean? What church forbids this vaccine? In general I am opposed to forcing anyone to get vaccinated but transplant operations are expensive. Organs are scarce. I don’t blame the doctors for requiring her to get the shot. She and her friend can go elsewhere to get the transplant done.

Rules are Rules. Remember Rutgers. An unvaccinated student wanted to take an on-line class. He was refused permission. It was a Rule. And Rules must be obeyed. The Rule is you must be vaccinated, despite the fact that the vaccine does NOT protect you from COVID-19. You must be vaccinated anyway. After all, Rules are Rules. And what would bureaucrats do, if not for enforcing rules?

According to the White House statement he read out from his vacation lair at Delaware's tony Rehoboth Beach: The job market is the strongest it’s been since just after World War Two. We’ve got more evidence of that today. We learned that in May the economy added another 390,000 new jobs, bringing the total since I took office to 8.7 million new jobs — an all-time record.

By now it shouldn’t be a shock that President Joe Biden is threatening to cut school funding if schools refuse to adhere to the left’s agenda. Biden’s department of Food and Nutrition service, an agency within the USDA, announced it will strip money, specifically for lunches, from schools who don’t allow trans students to use the bathroom of their desired gender. Title IX says that school districts will have to allow transgender boys into girl’s bathrooms, locker rooms, showers and sleeping quarters in order to keep federal funds for lunches, breakfasts and snacks.
