Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas denied Monday that Border Patrol agents used whips to prevent Haitian migrants from crossing the Rio Grande to reach an encampment set up under a Texas bridge where thousands of other migrants have gathered. (Snip)However, Mayorkas and Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz told reporters in Del Rio, Texas Monday that they saw nothing obviously wrong with how the agents acted based on initial viewings of the images and footage. Mayorkas explained that agents use long reins — not whips — to control their horses, while Ortiz cited the difficulty in distinguishing migrants from smugglers as people move back and forth near the river.

Mayorkas needs to become a much better liar. This is not the type of transparency required. Where is Baghdad Bob when we need him?

If you can't tell the difference between horse reigns and a whip, you are an idiot. NO ONE WAS WHIPPED. It is simply a flat-out lie. Next time instead of using good horsemanship to round up a herd of invaders on foot, taser them.

Doesn't matter if it wasn't a whip or not. It looked like a whip and the migrants were black. That must mean that the Border Patrol, DHS, and Biden administration are racist! BLM will go down to Del Rio Texas and initiate the illegals to BLM, stir them up to demand their rights and start a riot over being treated like slaves because of the "whips".

Boy, that's a difference without a distinction. Coyote/drug smuggler over here...migrant over here. Who can tell?
I still want to know where they got all those sticks seen in photographs yesterday BUT not in today's photographs?

They looked like reins to me. A bigger question is how did all those Haitians get to Texas?

They don't know the difference between reins and whips?? Well now, nice democrats, whips are what you used on the slaves back in the past, and reins are what you use now to guide a horse, but then you wouldn't know anything about horses would you, living in your domestic climate controlled mansions with gummint guards and limos...

They should be whips. And if there were any white illegals they should get it too. So there!

Buy some whips and use them. If you're going to be blamed for it, then might as well get the benefit.
And whips, in normal use, for example for mules or oxen do NOT ever touch the animal.
The whip tip exceeds the speed of sound and makes a tiny sonic boom for a fraction of a second. The "crack" of a whip is NOT the impact against anything. The sound is what urges on the mules, horses or oxen.

He probably had to push back on those bogus political charges or risk the entire Border Patrol going home sick.

He changed his tune when he got back to Wash. Today he wants an investigation of this inhumane treatment. He and the VP border czar are reading from the same script.
