On Monday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Ingraham Angle,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) discussed his request for a federal emergency declaration over the situation at the border and said he hasn’t heard from President Joe Biden during “his entire presidency concerning the border.”Abbott said, “I have not yet heard from the president during this — his entire presidency concerning the border. The Biden administration refuses to even pretend as though there’s a crisis. And, obviously, as you’ve been talking about tonight, and as your viewers have seen for months now, there is chaos down there, especially in the Del Rio Sector.”

Haven't heard from Biden, Governor? Then move on with your own resources. It's time to be counted in this fiasco. Quit the showboating and handwringing and start prosecuting those responsible. 15,000 Haitians didn't end up in Del Rio by happenstance. Those conspirators who financed their trip should be identified and prosecuted like common coyotes.

Guys, Governor Abbott was exposed as fairly weak in the leadership department last winter. He is obviously following the Rove RINO playbook. Nothing bold, just blame Biden so we win an easy reelection. He only goes on Hannity or Laura’s program so he can talk fast so he does not get asked any questions much less ever nailed like Lou Dobbs would have done.
If this were a Democrat Governor allowing even half of this inaction and weak leadership, we conservatives would be in the streets.

Can anybody name one governor who has control of the US international border that runs adjacent to their state? ME, NH, VT, NY, MI, WI, MN, ND, MT, WA, AK, CA, AZ, or NM? While most of the governors of those states are democrats, I can't think of a single one who has the authority or effective control over who enters the country across our international borders. It's not for lack of trying. Various U. S. public laws and Supreme Court cases have always come down on the side of federal enforcement.
With regard to Texas, border issues have always been flux. In 1845, the United States annexed the Republic of Texas, making it a state within the U.S. The legislation authorizing this annexation was intentionally vague with regard to the actual international border, describing only “the territory properly included within and rightfully belonging to the Republic of Texas,” and further stating that the new state of Texas would be formed “subject to the adjustment by this government of all questions of boundary that may arise with other government.” By 1846, the first skirmishes between the U.S. and Mexico led to the Mexican-American War. After the U.S. invaded Mexico and defeated the armies in their path, the Treaty of Guadelupe Hidalgo resulted in the 2,000 mile southern U.S. border being set from the mouth of the Rio Grande to the Pacific. Fast-forward to 1910 and the Mexican Revolution, the turmoil in the Northern Mexican states led to a wave of immigrants crossing the border into Texas. The Texas Rangers, under the direction of the Texas governor, engaged in some brutal gun battles against Mexican bandits but were criticized for their use of force along the border, although at times, the U.S. Army supported Ranger operations to recover stolen cattle and pursue Mexican raiders across the border into Mexico. In 1924, Congress created the Border Patrol, primarily to curb illegal immigration from Mexico and in particular, the illegal importation of liquor from Canada - a democrat prioritization issue. The border control issues throughout the 1900s became increasingly convoluted with numerous public laws enacted and the federal government's attitude towards legal and illegal immigration shifting on the political winds, often driven by the large agricultural companies, always on the lookout for cheap seasonal labor. Democrats in particular have rejected tighter border security, endangering our national security in their zeal to import new leftist voters, intended to put the democrats in power in perpetuity. No lone governor has ever had the statutory or practical authority to control our U.S. borders. If it is to be done, then large public majorities would have to show a willingness to back such efforts by any means necessary. That does not include a handful of critics sitting on their rears calling for things that will never happen - at least. not without a groundswell of popular support and an honest media to report it.

Why do you need to hear from the president? You are the governor of the State of Texas and are are responsible for the well-being of your constituents. Get out there and close the border to illegals…it’s not brain surgery, sir.

#11 - Jan Brewer tried but was told in no uncertain terms by the emir that border protection is federal jurisdiction and she was to stay out of it.

I'm sure Mr. Governor, you won't hear from him because, he's not about to, simple as that.
