Twenty Years of Disunity

Original Article

The last time the country was truly unified was in the days and weeks after the 9/11 attacks. On the day of the attack, there was none of the looting or other disorders that have since become routine in times of crisis. Instead, in their grief, many Americans donated blood and money and other resources to help the rescue operation underway at the World Trade Center.

Comments:

Some pretty accurate comments about the US in the twenty years since 9/11 especially about our woke military.

We were not united after the 911 attacks. We had a muslim elected President afterwards. This is imagination, not reality.

What we saw after 911 was the America the media chose to allow us to see. They hit pause on playing the Alinsky tactic that tells us power is derived from what your opponent thinks you have rather than your actual strength. They portrayed a unified nation and the radicals were forced into the background. The reality, as we were seeing an all for one and one for all unity, the radical subversives appeared to disappear but they just went underground. Now we see nothing but disorder and division forcing normal America underground. I believe that unified America has suffered very real losses in the last 20 years but we are nowhere near as gone as were the radicals post 911.

I agree with #1. The dems kept their mouths shut for about 2 weeks before they started back up with their incessant whining, complaining and vicious accusations. In fact, in my workplace, a few unfortunate lefties started making snide, derogatory, political comments while we were watching 3,000 of our fellow citizens burn alive or jump to their deaths on television. I put an end to that right quick. Liberalism is a terrible disease that destroys everyone and everything it touches.

All for naught. In less than ten years following we elect a Kenyan Muslim to the top post to show we love our enemies. PC really kicked in as Bush marched us to war for something, anything just do something get some payback. Democrats returned to the vitriol they left behind for a short while. Now we see twenty years later we have almost canceled this grieving moment maybe next year a mouthy group of people who are offended will remove and symbols of 9-11 maybe build a mosque to show the Taliban we love them nothing surprises me anymore.

We were only united for a short while. We were attacked in 2001, and by 2008 we had elected a Muslim. Its quite clear nobody is looking out for the country and the general population. In 2000, we had one of the closest elections ever resulting in a President that was the son of a former President. In 2008, we inexplicably elected a black who favored Islam that had no real experience and was a social justice 'warrior'. In 2016, we had a backlash that gave us an outsider who did a better job than either of the previous two Presidents.. In 2020, the establishment of both parties saw to it that outsider would not win, and gave us a senile crook who is not in charge of anything. Does this sound like we are united? Over half of the population gets their opinions from a corrupt lying media (both sides...Fox cannot be trusted). We spend like there is no tomorrow, and it is starting to look like that may be true.

Americans rushed into the trap, quickly surrendering liberties left and right for "security". The meme was once "We need to go on living our lives as usual, because to do otherwise is to let the terrorists win." And now let's go to an airport, or nearly any public event. What's that again? Some warned of this...pooh poohed by those "patriots" who assured us that there were safeguards. That our leaders would prevent abuse. And here we are... We've done this to ourselves.

Right, then the left saw that W was getting high marks for his handling of matters and decided that could not be allowed to stand. So, they began a campaign based on Alinsky's rules. W never fired back like he should have and his numbers tanked. We ended up with the Kenyan squatting in our White House followed by a demonstration of what can happen when government is taken out of the way and the individual is allowed to exercise his creativity and hard work, while keeping more of the fruits of his labors. Then came the Big Steal, and here we are with hundreds, if not thousands of Americans left behind in Afghanistan along with untold thousands of our Afghan allies.

Though the strength and preservation of the United States have always depended upon the spirit and guidance of its founding principles, these are now astoundingly subject to widespread and hateful repudiation from Americans themselves. Seldom has so obvious a national suicide advanced with such geometric speed against so little resistance. True to form, the rot comes from within.

In order to defeat Japan, a lot of battles needed to be fought throughout the Pacific Theater. The Japanese Imperial Army was not filled with average soldiers who fought with the civilized warfare the Geneva Convention had in mind when the rules were written. Civilized warfare meant certain soldiers like the wounded weren’t supposed to be bayoneted, while the Japanese soldiers had no problem doing just that.

Two photographs, taken 76 years apart — within the lifetime of many — drive home the change our country has taken in that short span of time. First, the famous photo of the Japanese surrender on the deck of United States Ship Missouri on September 2, 1945. Then, the photograph of the catastrophic exit from the war in Afghanistan, where scores of human beings grasp a Air Force Globemaster as it races to escape Kabul.

It might seem that there is little to be added to what the whole world has witnessed viewing the unutterable shambles of the U.S. departure from Afghanistan. But that would be an illusion. The story of the perilous departure from Afghanistan of NATO forces and civilians and their Afghan collaborators who are now in mortal danger is obviously a matter of great suspense. The United States could certainly tell the Taliban government of Afghanistan that if all those whom the Western powers wished to evacuate were not allowed to leave it would be an act of war.

A week after the Fall of Kabul, the flailing hegemon continues to embarrass itself: America's official deadline for total withdrawal from Afghanistan is August 31st, so half the remaining time has already elapsed, and in that first week of a final fortnight, according to the Department of Defense, it evacuated just 2,500 Americans - or about 350 per day. That seems an under-performance - or, as The New York Post's front-page headline distills it, "DUMKIRK".

Americans have been given an ultra red pill with the events in Afghanistan. As the incompetence and corruption of America’s military apparatus are laid bare before our eyes, as America’s military leaders are hiding in shame (as they ought to be), and as America’s credibility abroad is being shredded, there is much demanding our reflection. The American people deserve better than the military apparatchiks and crony politicians we have now, but we must learn from our experiences and adjust course. This is the requirement of all free people.

Republican officials’ timidity with regard to the outrages that the Democratic Party is committing against the American people under the Biden Administration dampens the American people’s urge to resist. Their default of leadership helps the Democrats’ seizure of long-term oligarchic power. The people’s deep resentment, however, will follow whoever and whatever ventures offer protection. As we look at the disgraceful coda of the Global War on Terror and the tens of thousands of our countrymen who have been maimed or killed with scant results, it is clear to all but few (sadly, those few seem to occupy a lot of Defense Department jobs and think tank posts), there must be a better way to fight our wars. If we look to history, and even demands from the anti-war Left, we might find a better way forward.

"Have you or a loved one been hurt or injured by the Democrat Party?" That's the only question Republicans should run on radio and television ads from here on out. It's the same question civil litigators regularly use in late-night commercials when they're looking to add new members to class action lawsuits, but compared to asbestos poisoning, the side-effects of prescription medicines, or injuries from medical devices, the Democrats are the Grand Pooh-bahs of causing physical and emotional harm to everyday Americans.

The President will also sign an executive order directing the same standard be extended to employees of contractors who do business with the federal government.

Washington — President Joe Biden on Thursday is announcing sweeping new federal vaccine requirements affecting as many as 100 million Americans in an all-out effort to increase COVID-19 vaccinations and curb the surging delta variant that is killing thousands each week and jeopardizing the nation’s economic recovery. The expansive rules mandate that all employers with more than 100 workers require them to be vaccinated or test for the virus weekly, affecting about 80 million Americans. And the roughly 17 million workers at health facilities that receive federal Medicare or Medicaid also will have to be fully vaccinated.

The leftist operatives were identified making numerous drops in the middle of the night. They were filmed emptying their backpacks of ballots into the drop boxes in the middle of the night. Ballot harvesting is not legal in Georgia. This was criminal behavior caught on video!
