Oregon's governor Kate Brown is being sued by a coalition of firefighters and police officers over her new mandate which will force them to have a COVID vaccine. The lawsuit was filed by the Oregon Fraternal Order of Police union, troopers across the state, and Kingsley Firefighters Association at Jefferson County Circuit Court Friday. They say the vaccine edict, announced in August, breaks existing Oregon laws, and that it makes no provision for people who seek religious exemptions to the rule.(Snip)Oregon State Trooper Zachary Cowing, 29, has already been placed on leave over a widely-shared video which saw him condemn Brown's ban as unconstitutional.

New York City police are investigating a possible hate crime after two men were brutally attacked with a glass bottle and a screwdriver while being called homophobic slurs at a Brooklyn bodega early Saturday morning. The two male victims, ages 36 and 28, were trying to buy food at a store at 1559 Broadway in Bushwick, Brooklyn at 2.10am, according to the NYPD. Adnan Ali Hussein, 28, can be seen at the ticket booth for the 18th annual Feast of Santa Rosalia in Bensonhurst on Aug. 24, according to the FDNY, which released footage of the incident Sunday. Hussein first applies an “ignitable liquid” to the booth and then pulls an object out of his pocket and lights the booth on fire, officials said. Investigators believe he used a lighter, officials said. The suspect can be seen on the video then jumping back in surprise

Conservatives are often accused by the left of ignoring the science on global warming, but a newly released survey shows Republicans are better informed than their Democratic counterparts on several key climate issues. A Google survey of 1,500 U.S. adults released last week by Environmental Progress found Democrats were more likely than Republicans “to believe false information about basic aspects of climate science,” starting with the impact of natural disasters. The results found 42% of Democrats and 35% of Republicans agreed that “More people are dying of natural disasters,” even though such deaths have declined by more than 90% worldwide over the last century.

It takes the MTA up to 15 years to clean each of the subway’s 10,000 gunked-up drains, according to a report published Thursday by the agency’s inspector general. But a new system could streamline the process and help keep the city’s 418 miles of underground electrified subway track dry, the MTA says. “NYC Transit’s annual goal for track drain cleaning is currently 150,000 linear feet. However, with 418 miles of drains in the system, this figure represents only 7% of the total,” the report states. “[A]t that pace Infrastructure would require approximately 15 years to clean the entire system.”

At this time last year, the Wuhan coronavirus was claiming around 1,000 American lives per day. It seemed to me that, absent a sudden and sharp decline in that number, Joe Biden would be our next president. It must have seemed that way to Biden and his top advisers, as well. During presidential debates that occurred a little less than a year ago, Biden ripped Trump for his handling of the pandemic. The death count was the centerpiece of this attack. So what’s the daily death count now, more than seven months into the Biden administration and with a majority of Americans vaccinated?

It is no secret that leftists believe they will be in power forever once white people no longer are a majority(snip) Which brings us to Professor Derek Hook. Emma Colton reported, "A professor employed at a Catholic university in Pennsylvania [Duquesne] said on camera that there are merits to the claim that it’s ethical for White people to commit suicide." Hook quoted a South African philosophy professor, Terblanche Delport, who said, "White people should commit suicide as an ethical act."

What's with the bizarre campaign against Ivermectin? It's not just that the FDA has put out a quackish tweet (shown here by AT contributor Dr. Brian Joondeph, M.D.) scolding viewers that they are not horses or cows. That's in reference to the fact that in some high-dose forms, ivermectin is used as a horse dewormer, begging the question about its effectiveness when it is dosed and formulated properly as a human medical treatment for COVID, prescribed off-label. The news reports repeatedly call ivermectin a dangerous drug, implying that all uses of the drug are dangerous, even when taken properly.
Is Joe Biden Senile or Just Dumb? 27 replies

Sometimes it is difficult to know whether or not Joe Biden is senile or just dumb. I know it’s tempting to ascribe everything he does to his dementia, but he’s been stupid for his whole life. Even people suffering from dementia have moments of lucidity, so it’s really impossible to know what is the true motivation behind the President’s asininity. The effects and the facts of it, however, are easy and important to dissect, because whether it’s due to him losing his grip on reality, that he’s just a very simple and dumb man, or a combination of both doesn’t really matter, what matters is the end result.

Labor Day was once the nation’s most blatantly political national holiday — created by the trade-union movement to celebrate the right of working people to bargain collectively and to stage strikes to press their demands. But no more, for good reason.Even before Congress created the federal holiday in 1894, New York hosted the nation’s first Labor Day parade as 10,000 workers took off from their jobs to march from City Hall to Union Square. As the movement grew, so did the parades and celebrations. How times have changed. Today, Labor Day is largely an occasion for sales, end-of-summer cookouts and back-to-school preparations. Why?
