The Delta variant is driving a surge in the coronavirus pandemic in the US as the Labor Day weekend begins, with new daily cases four times higher than they were a year ago despite rising vaccination rates. On Friday, the national seven-day rolling average of daily new cases was nearly 163,000, an increase of more than 300 percent from Labor Day weekend 2020, according to a DailyMail.com analysis of Johns Hopkins data. Hospitalizations also doubled, and deaths were up 80 percent from last Labor Day. The figures came despite 62 percent of the total US population now having received at least one shot of COVID-19 vaccine.

Comments:

"Despite 62% of the US population been at least partly vaccinated" is a clever way to say that vaccinated people are spinning off new variants that are more contagious, just as the experts predicted, and that the shot never worked as advertised, which is why there are so many "breakthrough" cases. Still no mass media discussion of vaccine side effects, either, including 13,911 deaths thus far.

I am one of the 99.6% of people my age (58) that have survived the COVID. I had mild cold symptoms as did my wife. I am reminded of the doctor who told me that he recommended I stop riding a motorcycle. He had seen too many people in the ER from bike wrecks. When all you see is the result of someone’s terrible moment, it’s easy to extrapolate it to the population in general. Thus, we are guided by fear, not science, not medical art, not common sense. I have immunity. I will not take the mRNA reprogramming shot. It is NOT a vaccine. The more I learn about this thing, the less afraid I am.

They will continue to see deaths until the doctors are allowed to treat patients immediately after they test positive. Withholding treatments until the ill person is so ill they need hospitalization is criminal and the federal government is to blame since they are forbidding doctors to prescribe drugs that work.

But a new system could streamline the process and help keep the city’s 418 miles of underground electrified subway track dry, the MTA says. “NYC Transit’s annual goal for track drain cleaning is currently 150,000 linear feet. However, with 418 miles of drains in the system, this figure represents only 7% of the total,” the report states. “[A]t that pace Infrastructure would require approximately 15 years to clean the entire system.”

During presidential debates that occurred a little less than a year ago, Biden ripped Trump for his handling of the pandemic. The death count was the centerpiece of this attack.
