Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told top Pentagon leaders to prepare for a potential 'mass casualty event' 24 hours before a suicide bomb rocked the hurried U.S. evacuation at the Kabul airport, new internal DOD documents reveal. The documents, which the Pentagon condemned as a leak of classified information and urged the media not to report, detail top military officials trying to sort out security in a situation they already deemed a major risk.
(Snip)According to the report, during a separate call last Thursday, commanders spoke to a plan to close the Abbey Gate. However, U.S. forces kept it open in order despite misgivings to allow British allies

One one not except or could except the current DOD leadership, both civilian and military, to take responsibility for anything. Obo finally got the military he wanted and worked so hard to achieve.

So far, Biden has blamed (1) Trump, (2) the Afghans, (3) Americans in Afghanistan who did not evacuate months ago, (4) his generals, and now (5) Britain. Anyone else?

So far the Boy Scouts haven't been blamed #5, but give them time. I'm sure they'll find some connection.

At least the British had the stones to go out and rescue some of their people, instead is sitting on their asses inside the perimeter on the orders of that stuffed shirt Idi Amin and his little concubine Stolen Valor Milley.

If true , measures should have been taken to protect the Marines at the gate. This is starting to look like the same leadership failure that led to the 1983 Marine Beirut bombing.

I think the Daily Mail as usual is trying to create as much controversy as they possibly can. If they thought that an attack was going to occur at that gate, they should have moved the US Marines to where they were under cover and closed the gate with the British military using other gates if necessary. By also insinuating that the surviving US Marines panicked and opened fire killing an unknown number of Afghans will never by found out for sure, as the Afghans who were killed have probably already been buried and any investigation of such allegations will be crippled, as the US military will be out of Afghanistan by tomorrow evening.

Perhaps...if instead of hanging around outside the wall they had stretched the perimeter TO the Hotel, a mere 100meters or less, more people would have gotten in sooner, out sooner and no bombing would have taken place, heck, they could have rigged a zipline from the Hotel, over the fence and into the airport..

Yes #7 and we await their apologies for mocking the best President THEY had had in decades when he was in office. They certainly did not act like buddies and steadfast allies when Trump and his wife visited London. Somehow Britain eludes criticism when they act contrary towards America. The Daily Mail traffics in denegrating America whenever they get the chance. This dastardly Biden is giving them ample opportunity. I am glad British military are doing their job.

Typical Democrat "leadership", blame the other people. The Brits were busy rescuing people. The people responsible for the airport were fully aware that there were threats of bombings and attacks. Those responsible should have taken extra precautions and added more security to protect those at the gates. Don't blame the Brits for the deaths. Blame the suicide bombers. Defense Sec. Lloyd Austin is blaming the wrong people. Maybe he should blame himself for poor planning.

How these incompetents were ever put in power tells you all you need to know about the democratic party. These morons couldn't run a lemonade stand.

I say when do they blame the French? After all the patron saints of surrender may be saved for the final evaluation of their idiotic antics in giving up Bagram and everything else. When in doubt, the French can be blamed.

My understanding is that Bagram Airbase had lots of wide-open space all around it. They could have easily avoided choke points and crowded conditions anywhere near the entrance. But No........

Well, it's certainly not Dotard Bidet's fault, nor can Affirmative Action Hero Defense Sec. Lloyd Austin be held accountable in any way. So let's blame the Brits, who were taken by surprise by the botched hasty withdrawal.
