Dozens of California students and parents are stranded in Afghanistan after taking a summer trip to the country.More than 20 students and 16 parents from the Cajon Valley Union School District in El Cajon, Calif., visited Afghanistan on summer vacation. Now they are among thousands of people who are waiting to leave the country amid the chaotic U.S. withdrawal that has caused political unrest across the nation, according to the Los Angeles Times.Cajon Valley Superintendent David Miyashiro alerted school board members on Tuesday that he would be meeting with Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) to discuss the situation, the Times noted.

Going to Afghanistan in the middle of a military pullout is a level of heedlessness only Californians could achieve. Still, they are our fellow citizens (I assume), and I'm glad Rep. Issa is working for them. I hope we see them arriving home, rather than being paraded in blindfolds as Biden's Folly moves from its "Saigon" to its "Teheran" phase.

"stranded" sounds like mom forgot to pick them up from school after practice. They bought tickets but "were not able to get to the airport". A small detail and they may be late for fall classes. The headline could read: "AMERICAN CHILDREN CAUGHT BEHIND ENEMY LINES IN TALIBAN-CONTROLLED AFGHANISTAN CAN'T ESCAPE THE TERRORISTS, AND NO ONE IS COMING TO SAVE THEM!"

Out of all the places in the world to go, Afghanistan, really? Certainly your choice but I just cannot imagine that is on my list of places to visit. It's like walking across the interstate during rush hour. Don't be surprised if you get hit by a car. Visit Afghanistan, don't be surprise if something bad happened. You might have been safer if you had visited the south side of Chicago on a hot Friday night. I'm sorry this happened to you but, damn. Poor planning.

There should be a centralized State Department phone number and email address for Americans in the U.S. seeking evacuation assistance for friends and family in Afghanistan. In this way, the government will soon learn the names and approximate whereabouts of most stranded U.S. citizens.

Perfect example of why California is circling the drain and elected an idiot. As I said yesterday, what idiot parent would let their kid go to Afghanistan as a student? Why are school age students allowed in Afghanistan? What possible reason for going into a war zone? At this point, leave them there. If the parents are this stupid, they've probably brainwashed their kids as well. California will be better of without these people. Plus, the idiot parents won't be able to vote in the recall election.

I had forgotten about the Iraqi Chaldean Catholic Christians who had been resettled as refugees some time ago in El Cajon, CA. Apparently Afghans have also settled there. These kids are from that group. Two, based on local reports, they may have been Afghani immigrants, the area is loaded of Iraqi Chaldean Christian immigrants many of whom vote Republican, and for Afghani immigrants, that would be a very friendly area with shops that sell their favorite foods (even the local Walmart does). others who speak at least some of their language, and a general community that knows what war is. Blaming the victims in this case doesn't work, and the kids are in genuine danger now. https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2021/08/biden_jokes_with_nbc_correspondent_about_americans_stranded_in_afghanistan.html About the Chaldean Christian Iraqis: https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/border-baja-california/sdut-fleeing-isis-chaldeans-el-cajon-2015aug22-story.html

Biden botched out withdrawal from Afghanistan. He caved to terrorists. We’re following their timeline. There was chaos at the airport in Kabul. Our allies feel betrayed, thousands of Americans are still stranded in the country. And now, we have US troops dead on the ground from today’s bombings around the airport. At least four US Marines are dead. A total of 11 service members have been killed. Given the chaos around the airport, this was coming. ISIS is on the prowl as is al-Qaeda and contrary to what Biden has been saying—it’s not easy to get to the airport if you’re an American marooned.

One of the most effective ways for the MSM to shut down an inquiry into misconduct is to say it is all a conspiracy theory. Besides avoiding an unwanted discussion, the charge also invites scrutiny of the "theorist" instead of the issue itself. Notice how quickly some even start off saying something like "I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but..." Expecting their reaction, we have become almost trained to do this. But are there really no big conspiracies? It has been claimed that the phrase "conspiracy theory" was invented by the government to discourage the questioning of official explanations for important events, especially the JFK assassination.
