The Pentagon is to use 18 US commercial aircraft to relocate Afghan evacuees after they’ve left the country, according to reports.According to Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby, the planes will not fly into Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, but instead will move passengers on from way stations once they’ve departed Afghanistan.(Snip)Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin asked for 18 aircraft: three each from American Airlines, Atlas Air, Delta Air Lines and Omni Air; two from Hawaiian Airlines; and four from United Airlines as he activated the initial stage of the Civil Reserve Air Fleet programme. The Biden administration has faced increasing pressure to assist the hundreds of thousands

If only there was an Air Force base they could use in Kabul.

Just wait until the first one of these commercial planes gets shot out of the sky -- probably with missiles taken from one of our abandoned bases there.

Hey, any of the 200 aircraft the Taliban captured, could they have brought anyone back?

As I posted earlier, they will not fly into Kabul, only at outlying airports. Therefore, Kabul will remain a bottleneck and an extremely hazardous one at that. This is really a PR stunt because efforts should have been focused on getting people out early on. Getting CRAF to Doha or Dubai, etc. would then be done without all the hoopla.

Too bad we don't have a real, legitimately elected Commander-in-Chief and real combat savvy patriotic generals because there is a very great opportunity to decimate the Taliban rank and file muslim savages and most importantly decapitate their leadership that have flooded into Kabul. If we were prepared to wage total war (kill on sight not rules of engagement and all the while rescuing our fellow citizens, the military has the capability to take back Bagram Airfield (and all the equipment) and deploy our combat forces to seal off the City of Kabul. We then go in and kill every single Taliban POS, especially their leadership, no restrictions, when in doubt kill, and at the same time get all American Citizens out of the country and then depart forever from that land of the eternal savages.
Starting to come out that Susan Rice of Benghazi Fame is behind this catastrophe and by extension Obama.

What if the commercial pilot determine that it is too dangerous for them to fly into and out of Kabul Airport because commercial aircraft do not have defenses that military aircraft have been using against ground launched heat seeking missiles? Maybe ask for volunteers?

The airlines will no doubt make 3 times as much ferrying these 2022 Democrat voters as they would using those planes in service, although if they are smart they’ll use some of the p,Agnes they’ve had mothballed due to Covid.

I guess they can't use the civilian planes they're moving the illegal border jumpers around America, so naturally, they'll need to hire more. Besides, money's no object, they can call it infrastructure!

It would make sense to use civilian aircraft if they operate from Qatar, rather than Kabul. The C 17s would likely have missile defense systems rigged. The airline aircraft would not.
Use the C17's to deliver the passengers to Qatar, turn around, go back to Kabul and reload.
(But then, what do I know? I don't have a stolen valor Silver Star.)

No, they aren't using the commercial airliners to evacuate Kabul... They are being used to ferry the Afghanis... (and the Taliban jihadis and the Al Qaeda terrorists that have infiltrated them) from Qatar and other places they are landing after they get out of Afghanistan, to the US, to be quietly distributed to US cities.
Landing C-17s with 650-800 Muslims on them at city airports would draw too much attention, so they use the commercial airliners so they can sneak them in a little easier, a couple hundred at a time...

Nota Bene:
This is to get AFGHANS OUT
Not American Citizens!!
Meanwhile millions are invading almost unimpeded at the Southern Border— unless they are drug trafficking, human smuggling or criminals, nothing is done while 20% are spreading a new wave of the pandemic
