Percent Of Americans Wanting Government
To ‘Leave Me Alone’ Up By Double Digits

A recent poll indicates that the number of Americans who do not desire assistance from the federal government has risen by double digits. The poll — carried out by Fox News — shows that Republicans are driving the 11% increase in Americans who want a less involved federal government: Nearly half, 47 percent, say the message they would like to give the federal government is “leave me alone,” up from 36 percent a year ago. On the other side, 44 percent say they would tell the government “lend me a hand.” That’s down significantly from 57 percent who felt that way last August.

Comments:

I wasn't polled, but I will add my vote. Stay the hell out of my life, FedGov.

Frankly, the best thing to do at this point is to close all federal departments and send the riffraff working within these departments down the road. Start with the fbi and the cia. Cancel the msm. Start with a fresh slate of senators and representatives.

I agree. Leave me alone. Don't call me, I'll call you. We elect these people to represent US and they are fast and free with our money. Unless Uncle Joe and Nancy have a slot machine up their lower orifice, they are wasting our money. Even that's not enough.

With the choices we have had, with the exception of Donald Trump, I would like to see a "None of the Above" choice on the ballot. Maybe the clowns will get the idea.

A group of moderate House Democrats is threatening to torpedo their party's $3.5 trillion spending plan unless House Speaker Nancy Pelosi brings the bipartisan infrastructure bill for a vote first – an act of direct defiance to the speaker and a bold exertion of power with Democrats holding just a slim majority in the chamber. "Some have suggested that we hold off on considering the Senate infrastructure bill for months – until the reconciliation process is completed. We disagree," the group of nine Democrats said in the letter.

President Biden is facing a potential foreign policy and humanitarian catastrophe in Afghanistan as the Taliban makes rapid gains, capturing major cities and prompting concerns over the safety of U.S. diplomatic personnel and civilians on the ground. The Taliban took control of Kandahar and Herat on Thursday, the second- and third-largest cities in Afghanistan after Kabul, followed by Lashkar Gar on Friday. The Biden administration is sending about 3,000 troops to the country to help evacuate diplomats from the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, as well as Afghans who have applied for special immigrant visas for helping the United States during the war.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) blocked the quick confirmation of dozens of State Department nominees on Wednesday morning, guaranteeing that they will stay in limbo until next month when the Senate returns from its summer break. Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) and Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) tried to get the nominations confirmed at the end of an all-night session before the Senate left Washington until mid-September. In a floor back-and-forth that lasted roughly 50 minutes, and wrapped just before 6 a.m., Menendez and then Murphy went one by one through the list of State Department nominees trying to get consent to confirm them.

Progressive Democrats in the House of Representatives, led by New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, are threatening to blow up a bipartisan infrastructure agreement if the Senate does not pass a $3.5 trillion reconciliation package. Ocasio-Cortez claimed on Sunday that she had “more than enough” votes to tank the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which Democratic Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema and Republican Ohio Sen. Rob Portman introduced last Monday. Sinema pledged on July 28 not to “support a bill that costs $3.5 trillion,” leading Ocasio-Cortez to imply that she deliberately created an all-white group of senators to negotiate the package.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has been trying to cut a deal with top state officials, promising not to seek a fourth term if impeachment talks are scuttled — but no one is buying it, sources told THE CITY. The governor and what’s left of his inner circle have been working the phones, fighting for his political life in the wake the damning Aug. 3 report detailing the sexual harassment allegations of 11 women and what investigators found was retaliation against one who went public. Cuomo, whose term ends Dec. 31, 2022, has ignored calls for his resignation as the state Assembly pushes ahead with the impeachment process, which lawmakers said could take weeks.

For instance, Biden told churchgoers April 1, they were being ungodly if they did not become vaccinated.
