The co-founder of fact-checking website Snopes has apologized for plagiarizing more than 50 articles and writing under a fake name.David Mikkelson, a computer science graduate who founded the site in 1994, blamed the behavior on a lack of journalistic training.'I didn't come from a journalism background,' he said. 'I wasn't used to doing news aggregation. A number of times I crossed the line to where it was copyright infringement. I own that.' Following an investigation by BuzzFeed News, he is no longer allowed to publish articles on the page - although he retains his position as chief executive.

That’s the problem with fact checkers. Who checks the checker? This took far too long to shed the light on Snopes. They went off the deep end long before 2015 with their barely veiled bias. Cracks appeared when David and Barbara went Splitsville over David’s affair (stripper and/or porn actress, I think) and David then hired his new paramour as another fact checker. And yet, news sites and others who should know better keep referencing them.

He and Snopes are both as phony as that fright wig he's wearing. It looks like he went out and got a dead rat to put on his head. I learned Snopes was a phony Left-leaning pile of bull manure when they constantly stuck up for Clinton back in the mid-nineties and then they went over-the-top with Obama. Not one negative story about The One was ever, ever "verified". Not even when dozens of other wires had the facts, Snopes claimed "half-true".

#13 if only that were the case. The erstwhile 'Mrs Snopes' was a particularly grotesque creature. Perhaps gazing upon such horror for a time poisoned the mind of Mr Mikkelson. Jokes aside, the citations of Snopes by leftists for years was a bizarre phenomenon. Because someone agreed with their twisted worldview they regarded it as holy writ.

Snopes had (have?) a GoFundMe site to keep it running but they deleted their older comments section where people had written things critical of the site and pointing to its political bias. They replaced it with a comments section that only allows comments from people who have donated to them. In other words, only people who agree with them and are likely of the same political ideology will comment, which will be overwhelmingly positive. It looks like they manipulate the public in more ways than one! It's sick how people believe the site is reliable. Doing little research, I found a ton of articles praising the site and very few panning it. It seems most media is a self-aggrandizing and they all work in collusion to further their leftist-globalist political agenda.

The depth of Joe Biden’s ineptitude is stunning. Nothing he’s done in his first seven months has shown a breadth of competency – but his failure with Afghanistan has moved to the top of the list of failures. Biden made promises he couldn’t keep.Just hours after “guaranteeing “ that Kabul would not be a repeat to Saigon 1975, with helicopters evacuating personnel from the roof our embassy, that is precisely what is happening.Biden issued a paper tiger, “Play nice or I’ll get really mad” warning to the Taliban that, no doubt, was met with ridicule and mocking laughter. The Taliban will do as they wish,

President Joe Biden issued a statement Saturday blaming former President Donald Trump after the Taliban rapidly took control of the majority of Afghanistan’s major cities.“When I came to office, I inherited a deal cut by my predecessor,” Biden wrote, complaining that Trump negotiated a deal “that left the Taliban in the strongest position militarily since 2001.”Biden also noted that Trump had set the troop withdrawal date of May 1 and reduced troop levels to 2,500. The president said he had the choice of either following through with Trump’s withdrawal plan or sending more troops back into Afghanistan to secure the country.

The surge of the Taliban and the ongoing collapse of the Afghan government is a tragic development for many Afghans, particularly women and those who have been associated with American forces. It's also a disgrace and significant setback for both the Biden administration and for the U.S. itself. The withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan began with President Trump, who said Americans were tired of an war with no end in sight. He was correct. Americans were tired of seeing our brave young soldiers coming home with their arms, legs, and faces blown off or not coming home at all. What was it for?

What will it take for Joe Biden to admit he is disastrously wrong about Afghanistan? The US leader struck a defiant pose last week. Sounding like a slightly desperate Olympics coach, he told Afghans it was their country. If they want it, they have to fight for it. In American politics-speak, this is called tough love. Without the love. Biden has more hands-on foreign policy experience than any president since George HW Bush. That doesn’t mean he knows what he’s doing. Opinion polls suggest his abrupt Afghan withdrawal has majority public support. That doesn’t mean Americans will remain indifferent as the carnage and misery mount.
