Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., is blasting Critical Race Theory claiming it is being promoted by “woke white folks” and proclaims she solidly stands against race as a social construct. She stated on Monday that we are all one race, with human beings sharing 99.5 percent of the same DNA. King believes this is what should be taught to students throughout their education, not racial division.“It might surprise you to know I support Critical Race Theory. Or, to be more exact, I believe it’s critical to understand – maybe more so than at any other point in our shared history in the U.S. –

IF "We are all one blood"(?) as Alveda King believes, then how come people who are considered Caucasian don't seem to inherit the blood defect of Sickle Cell Anemia? We definitely ALL come from the Human Race, but there are different races and cultures that descend from that main group.

Alveda is correct. There is one human race. Some have melanin in their skin, some have epicanthic folds next to their eyes, some are tall, some are short. So what? I learned early about the melting pot: we all learn to live together. What is so bad about that? In past ages people had done bad things to one another. So what? Don't do that anymore. In ancient Greece most folk were slaves. So what? Does that diminish Euclid or Aristotle? Most African tribes either had slaves or were slaves. Again, so what? You can teach kids to live together, or you can teach them to hate. Teaching kids to hate is a very bad idea. Kids would rather play and have a good time. CRT is kind of funny, at least when promoted by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortiz (white person) or Joe Biden (another white person). Why would white people promote CRT? Shall every white person wear an "I'm bad" badge? Ridiculous.

fyi... How much DNA does humanity share with chimps? 98.8% How much DNA does humanity share with pigs? 98% (I like ham! Does this make me a cannibal?) How much DNA does humanity share with cats? 90% ( I might use this to teach my cat some humility, if possible) Dogs...84% Cows...80% Slugs...70% Chickens...65% Bananas...60% Trees...50% Apples...40% A single percentage point makes a world of difference. Blacks and whites might share 99.5% DNA, but in spite of that every person is different, and race has nothing to do with it. There are many other factors that have greater impact than DNA. Otherwise totally agree with Alveda King. Judge people by their character.

The White House is pressuring OPEC and its allies to boost oil production in a bid to tackle rising gasoline prices — despite imposing tighter restrictions on US oil companies last year.Biden’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan issued a statement on Wednesday urging OPEC — the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries — to move faster to restore global supply of gasoline to pre-pandemic levels.“Higher gasoline costs, if left unchecked, risk harming the ongoing global recovery. The price of crude oil has been higher than it was at the end of 2019, before the onset of the pandemic,” Sullivan said.
